I understand you pay more for it, but what do you think you are getting for that money in the public schools? I think there is a disconnect here.

I always love people who believe government statements like this, which are clearly lies. I cant find it but years ago an economist went through these kind of claims for all of the government departments and the federal government claimed to be responsible for more than 125% of the GDP each and every year.

If there is one thing I would like to change about our courts is the reference to previous decisions that were made poorly or based on obviously incorrect interpretations. The amendment clearly states "under the jurisdiction" which means while following the laws. If someone is here illegally, then not following the laws. At this point though we would need to modify the Constitution because legally the anyone born here is a citizen thing is the law.

I never said you couldn't take AP classes, I simply said teachers can restrict it. A long time ago I was not allowed to take AP Calculus because the teacher said I was too lazy, which was arguable, but I also scored top 5 in my school on the final. Her words took away my ability to take Calc in High school, not my mathematical ability. But speaking of just AP classes, Canisius offers 13, Winter Park(which is not my school but kinda similar) offers 28 on campus and even more virtually and off campus. that does not mention the IB schools or AICE programs for theore dedicated students. I appreciate McQuaid is a great school, i know at least dozen guys who went there in the mid 90s But the world has changed drastically since then.

Schools are different in OCPS then up North, while the "average* Canisius kid is going to be smarter than my high school, my top achievers will leave high school with an AA and every few years a kid with a BS. My students can take APs whenever they want vs up north where you generally have to qualify with a teacher recommendation. The opportunity here is higher of you want it, but of course we have the low students also. Canisius offers less "college level classes" than many of the high schools in OCPS have AP classes. And I will end my proselytizing with this nugget, which I know is college not high school, FSU is the "inspiration" for Van Wilder, a easy school with no ambition because of what is was back in the 90s. It is now the #7 ranked public school with UF being first. may I ask where you family lives in FL? And which school district your wife teaches in in NY? My child goes to an OCPS school and my family in Buffalo who sends there kids to Canisius and St Joes has no more opportunity than my children.

Since I don't know where you live I can speak to it directly, but a few years ago Pew had this study that 5% of kids were trans and when the number is 1 in 20 it is no longer "so small". But even beyond that, anyone why is in that category is being sold mental illness. Yes, the only reason most people care about the trans stuff is it's effect on children and the mental illness it caused later in life, other than that few care about it. I will post this here because of the stupidity of assuming those who threaten ICE are not liberals. In my class I have had multiple times had to tell kids to stop saying that to the foreign born students and it is always the most liberal kids who openly bash Trump. Literally every time it is the kids who hate Trump that respond by stating how when they say the racist thing it isn't racist.

We have had the ability to save babies at 27 weeks since the 1960s, I am literally related to one. My son was born at 35 weeks and only an evil person would abort a baby past 30 weeks without trying to save it.
