  1. I think people have different interpretations. My accuracy concerns were making receivers make a difficult catch when they're open. A little behind on a crossing pattern, a little high on an out pattern... preventing yards after catch. That's what I saw as an issue for Allen last season. Yeah, I don't think you get it, but you're not alone.
  2. But that's not the topic of discussion, it's accuracy issues.
  3. We've seen a lot of busts with QB's drafted in the first round over the years. There are no guarantees. My point really is that, I expected him to have an excellent season this year, he's blown away all my expectations. His poise on the field is remarkable. In his 3rd season, he's elite. I don't think this happens a lot. Look at the other QB's in that draft. Lamar was MVP, but he's not in the same league as Allen in passing. Other QB's have had varying degrees of success and failure.
  4. That's actually a very good question. It means nothing really. It's like 'potential' or 'off the charts'. It's a tired cliche that's pretty meaningless.
  5. Because he's only in year 3 and so many other QB's that were expected to also be great haven't done this. He's in the company of Mahomes and Rogers, and nobody else in the league is. Would anyone reasonably have expected that to happen in year 3? Favre isn't really a model for accuracy, he was dynamic, like Allen, but threw a crapload of INT's. He was careless with the ball his whole career, averaged an INT a game. He got a lot of press and was exciting to watch. Allen should be better.
  6. But coaching in college is a big issue, you don't always have the luxury of time to learn mechanics in the NFL, and it's not easy. Allen is a special case. Keep in mind, he was still considered a top 10 pick pretty much all around, so it's not that people thought he was untalented, just had shortcomings. I don't think anyone saw his performance this season happening so soon. It's really remarkable what he has done. Even with no major issues coming out of college, not many QB's play as this sustained level at any point in their career let alone in year 3. It's truly amazing.
  7. If we were the #1 seed and had a bye in the first round, would you think that's a bad thing because the whole team wouldn't be playing, as opposed to resting a handful a players in a 'meaningless' game in week 17? Do you think the Chiefs are now at a disadvantage being the only team not to play in the first round of the playoffs? You can't sit your Oline starters because your QB and RB's will get beat to crap. You can sit 22 starters, you don't have the roster. You might sit 3-5 starters. Sit those that would benefit from missing a game. If Josh is getting knocked around early, sit him.
  8. I disagree that they will get rusty. Aren't we undefeated coming out of bye weeks under McD? They will still practice during the week, it's not like they just sit around at eat wings and pizza all day. I can't imagine after 16 weeks, they get rusty missing 1 game.
  9. That's not the premise. It was that if you have major accuracy issues coming out of college, it's unlikely to completely fix those at the pro level. Agree or not if is valid , but that was the premise , or at least how I interpreted it to be.
  10. To be fair, Allen's progress has been pretty remarkable. Most football scouts, QB's, coaches that I heard speak on this felt it was unlikely for Allen to make this leap. It seems rather unprecedented.
  11. The line is giving him a huge pocket and a great deal of time. It's like watching Aikman with Dallas. It's pretty amazing to see.
  12. There is no guarantee that the cap will drop this offseason, there is talk of holding it as is, expecting a return to normal next season. And Josh will get his $40 million after 2 more seasons, at that point, the cap will be higher and we'll likely have lost many veterans to reduce our cap numbers. I'm not overly worried about the cap. Imagine if Amazon buys streaming rights to the broadcasts, cap might be going up substantially after the next broadcasting contract.
  13. Didn't Duke drop some big passes in the Wildcard game last year?
  14. I really expect them to score on every drive.
  15. Couldn't ask for a better performance.
  16. We should put up a billboard that we have the best virtual fans in the NFL.
  17. The Bills are also loaded. Just because Allen wasn't expected to put up these numbers , it shouldn't relate to more votes. Neither team would be anywhere without their QB's.
  18. each win cost them a different QB in the draft.
  19. Would be great to see the Jets end the season on a winning streak.
  20. I would surely be looking at alternatives to Directv is Sunday ticket was gone. That's the only reason I've never looked at another option.
  21. I haven't paid for the NFL ticket in years. I can't imagine Amazon or any other company giving me the deals each year that i get from Directv.
  22. It's available on my android yahoo sports app, but maybe just because i'm in AZ.
  23. There will likely be 8 job openings, many with good young QB's now, or will be drafted with the top 2 picks this season. I imagine it's going to be difficult to turn down a 5 year 15 million dollar contract. I think it's a safe bet that he is gone.
