  1. Fair question. Maybe in case we get another sunami of injuries at the position? My son texted he heard they want him as a return guy. Can't be too deep this time of year. Not sure what the vet min is now, but cheaper options seem available. Better? Not sure, but certainly cheaper.

With Karlos out, we have very little experience backing up McCoy. Nobody has any experience being a #1 back if McCoy goes down. Gillislee started 1 game and was very unproductive. Herron, Wilder, J Williams can't be relied upon yet.

  2. my Bias is showing??? How about my misuse of the way the video was shown. What the F<K ever. It was live streamed...

After the shooting took place. She specifically stated in the video that they were pulled over for a busted tail light. And that he was licensed to conceal carry. Both statements were 100% false. Regardless if she lied about it or was unaware of her lies, you; or the other millions of people watching don't know that.

Here's some info about how they were pulled over because he fit the description of someone involved in a robbery a few days ago.

    https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2016/07/08/confirmed-philando-castile-was-an-armed-robbery-suspect-false-media-narrative-now-driving-cop-killings/

It also states that he was not licensed to carry.

And any real registered gun owner and liscensed to conceal carry individual knows that guns don't gon in laps when you are driving around town. They go into carry cases or are stored in a lockbox such as a locked glove compartment, or the trunk, with the ammo in a separate compartment.

But most people not educated about gun laws wouldn't know that. So I don't hold it against you.

My bias is showing??? Really? I think it's funny that you have fought to the ends of earth for these people claiming they have done nothing wrong. When you in fact don't know for sure if that is actually how things went down. that makes you a hypocrite.

But I wouldn't expect anything different. You've already expressed your opinions on law enforcement and how they wrongfully target blacks. If you ask me... You bias is the one showing.

We could continue to go back and forth here, but when you reference a website - the conservative treehouse, with it's promotion of their love of the scumbag Breitbart, known for promoting lies before his fortunate, timely death, pretty much sums up your bias.

If these types of killings are justifiable, we have some serious f-ing problems.

What you don't understand is it doesn't matter if the individual in the vehicle legally had a gun. That is not the issue. He was given a directive to produce his identification and then I formed the Officer that he had a weapon. At that point, it appears the officer gave him a new and different (because of the weapon) directive not to move. He apparently did not comply and reached for something( probably his ID) anyway. This cost him his life. The girlfriend states " how could he give his license without moving" ? But fails to comprehend that the Officer telling him not to move superceded the original request. If an officer is wrong and kills an innocent person, he would only be punished if he was found to be acting outside the scope of his duties and training , in a willful manner. That is, intentionally when no threat existed any longer. Not simply made a mistake, or an error in judgement. That is a high burden of proof, more than exists for a civilian. It has to be, because an officer has only an instant to react. They cannot wait for a more obvious or greater threat to exist, say the individual actually holding a gun or even pointing it at them. If the officer did, they would likely be dead. That's the difference between you and them. They are given the power to use deadly physical force if they believe it to be necessary to protect their own life or the lives of innocent bystanders. The Louisiana incident looks a little more sketchy, but the Officer can be heard shouting " gun". The Minn incident seems like a tragic and unnecessary one that happened only because the guy didn't follow a clear directive not to move his hands. Officers have the right to tell you to do this folks. They are requesting inaction to keep the scene safe for all. It's not hard to not reach for anything if an Officer tells you not to. That person would likely be alive today, not if as the Minn governor foolishly stated , he were white. Just if he had listened to the Officer telling him not to move when he became aware that he was carrying a weapon. Legal or not. A legal handgun kills just as well as an illegal one.

You're making assumptions on what happened when the video wasn't on, on how to interpret what we saw, and your obviously siding with the police to start with. Waste of time to discuss this with you. And if a cop can mistakenly kill someone and get away with, that's ok. No intent to kill, so he gets off? Great, give him gun back and cross your fingers.

  3. It still boils down to people being azzholes. Don't matter pink , purple, blue, or green azzholes are azzholes.

Let's just say that 90 percent are justified. Police hold back and you see a spike in cops being killed. Do you get upset? Or are you one of the people that want more cops shot? Almost 6000 people kill this year by being shot. Are you up set I've that?

You have nothing to back up that statement. Up until this past week, the number of cops being killed has gone down in the recent years.

Do I want more cops shot? F@@K YOU!

it was justified because even if the guy was legally permitted to own a gun he was not permitted to conceal carry and as someone that is registered to conceal carry, it would take the biggest of idiots to carry their weapon in their lap when being pulled over by the police. At the very least it was a terrible judgment call by Castillo. One that cost him his life.

We don't know the story as the only video leaked is the one from his girlfriend that is proven to be riddled with lies, or if you believe she didn't know, misinformation. But the officer in the video (after the actual shooting) is standing there stating that Castillo did not listen to his requests to show his hands. And that's all the officer knew at this point.

The video wasn't leaked, she streamed it live- your bias is showing.

Riddled with lies - the video lied- that's a new one.

Where did you read that his weapon was on his lap. I have not read that anywhere.

  4. Guys, this thread started about police going into private lots and using terrorism as an excuse, when even the dullest knife knows it was about the bad PR from some fans going bananas in the partying.

The discussion is getting elevated because of the horrible shootings in two cities,,and then the atrocity in Dallas. Most police officers are very decent people including many of my family members. I'm sorry about what happened to those citizens in MN and NO and even more horrified about what happened to all of those officers whose families lost their dad, husband, son, etc.

I really can't believe how many people hate the police. If you're a law abiding person, you usually hardly ever deal with them except to say hello at the gas station, etc.

I'm certainly thankful of the police to watch out for my kids, and family when it is needed, but I don't break the law and act with respect for these guys. They may be at my house someday because of a break in.

Oh, and I still don't like them going onto the lots. It's a BS argument motivated by politicians and probably the Bills organization. Police the streets and make sure people don't leave drunk hurting someone.

you're sorry about the black guys getting killed, but horrified about the cops, and their families. What about the families of the dead black guys. They lost a dad, son, husband... too. I'm horrified about all those incidents.

261 people shot by cops out of 488 were white. Media forgets to mention that. It's not just black people getting shot.

Lot more white people in this country, and the issue is that many have the impression that the shootings of many of the blacks aren't justified. I don't see much outrage over justifiable police shootings, black or white.

Another thing to keep in mind, on a somewhat different subject. Shooting statistics are not accurate. A republican congress made it illegal for the gov't to spend any money on gun violence research. Independent groups try to maintain stats, but likely not totally accurate.

  5. in these cases, the officer was justified as both men had weapons and were resisting to the officers orders.

tBut yes, I would support punishment. If the situation was right. I do all the time.

That's refreshing, and unusual for a fellow officer.

As far as justified, I'll say all the facts aren't in. And if they were justified, there is a problem. As far as I know the man in the car legally had his gun.

How have we stepped from patrolling private lots to cops killing people?

We travelled for a college football game with friends in a rental van (to hold the big crowd). The driver had a heavy foot and was often pulled over. When it happened on this trip I reached for the glove box for the rental agreement and he shut me down. "Don't give them any reasons!" I realized he was right and have lived by that ever since. Sure, almost all the people they encounter are reasonable, but you never know which one is the "crazy" one. Cops are regular people, in a REALLY difficult job. If you make a mistake at the bank, or the factory, it rarely results in death. It's like playing Jack-In-The Box, cops never know when it's going to pop. I don't condone abuse, but wish people realized the pressure they are under. (And I fully realize that some personalities do it entirely for the power.)

My uncle Leonard was a cop and shot and killed by a guy they were trying to get back to the hospital. The guy got the gun from the other cop and shot him. Full disclosure. Cops deal with regular people, but they never know who will be the crazy.

It seems, for the most part, this pressure comes about only when dealing with black people. The other day, a white guy shot at a cop and was not fired upon. Can't imagine that happening to a black guy.

  6. as a law enforcement officer I'm sure I'll just get labeled a racist or pos or something else but you weren't there and you have no idea of the severity of the situation. Just because the woman says he was calmly reaching for his ID doesn't mean it's true. Just because you didn't see a weapon doesn't mean one wasn't there. And just because the individual seemed like a good person doesn't make it so.

Until civilians walk in the shoes of law enforcement with people all around trying to break the law, etc... You don't have a clue. Anyone can Monday morning qb a situation and find wrong doing or another way out. But at the time the officer felt like his life or the lives of innocent people were on the line and he acted.

Does that mean there aren't pos cops out there? Sure, unfortunately we only hear about them. Not the good ones that truly are super heroes.

Say whatever you want. I'm done with this one.

And if the officer is wrong and kills an innocent person, what should be done? And would you openly support punishment?

BS- we have 'feel good' stories all the time.

  7. In fairness to the OP ... those of you calling him a troll or pointing out that he's posting baseless facts ... well, you're not providing any facts to refute what he's saying.

Personally, I wouldn't put it past the NFL to be behind something like this ... nor would I put it past JBJ. And frankly, I think as long as Pegs makes money ... he doesn't give a crap WHERE this team ends up.

Doesn't he need facts to support his argument before we can refute the facts.

Do you have any facts to support your claim that the NFL has conspired to move a team out of it's current city?

  8. yes. Absolutely.

Unless we're talking about suicide bombing here there would absolutely be a deterrent or a preventative precaution to eliminate a shooter before anyone could be shot.

I bet the families of the deceased in Orlando wished there was an armed presence at that nightclub.

there was - i think he was shot and killed, but not sure.

    yes. Absolutely.

that is a type of terrorism, a very successful type, why wouldn't they be looking for that?

  9. Issue is the false claim it is for Terrorism. Every time such a claim is made it is one more false wolf call and reduces the chance of next call to be heeded.

An example is the signs for "Slow down, men working" but after you go past you realize work zone is done for the day and they were too LAZY to cover up sign. I had such a sign on corner of my property for 3 months which they never bothered taking down after work was completed which actually caused visibility issues making a right turn. After several calls to VDOT I just took down the sign. There is another such sign down the road from me from after where they moved work zone to (and left) and they still left sign up.

The politicians who made it about Terrorism should be blasted (not literally) for using this as a crutch.

If it's about terrorism, are the officers trained in counter terrorism? Will they be patrolling with bomb sniffing dogs, checking backpacks.... or just cruising around? If it's legitimate, I would expect there to be quite a noticeable difference between those that are patrolling and the regular officers.

  10.

Just to put this in perspective: In the restaurant business, a local restaurant will typically sell for about 2 - 3 times it's cash flow. In other words, it will take you about 2 or 3 years to earn your investment back.

If the restaurant is part of an established regional or national chain, the cost will be higher: between 4 and 8 times EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization). In these cases, it will take you roughly 4 to 8 years to earn your purchase price back.

The Pegulas paid $1.4 billion dollars to buy a business that profits only $44 million per year. It'll take Terry & Kim approximately 32 years to make their money back.

Unless they sell the team or move it to Vegas. Moving would dramatically increase the value of the team.

  11. you already stated you think most cops are bad and you stay away from them at all costs. Except for when you need help. And that makes you a hypocrite.

And if you feel that cops are all bad and need to go. What do you think should happen next? Who is going to do the job? Are you going to pick up a weapon and protect the rest of us?

i said the bad ones need to go, big difference.

haha. Way to put words into my mouth. No different than you assuming all cops are bad I suppose.

I didn't say that. You are the one putting words in my mouth. 2nd correction I had to make in your last 2 posts.

  12. i didn't ask your opinion of good cops turning in bad cops. I asked if you would gladly accept a cops help in your time of need. Uou said you would and that makes you a hypocrite.

i pay taxes to fund the police force, they are civil servants, I would expect them to help me. I don't like most politicians, yet I still vote and have expectations that they will perform well. Not hypocritical at all.

all i can determine rags is he is cop hater.. especially cops that kill black people

hater may be a bit too strong, I think many of them are bad and need to go away.

  13. i can tell you that I was a trouble maker growing up. I had many run ins with cops. I can tell you if you treat them with respect they will usually do the same. Is that always the case? Of course not. But that doesn't mean you should run from cops. Resist arrest. Break the law and think you can get away with it.

I would like to see your response to the cops if you were being robbed btw. Or had something stolen from you. Or maybe someone was in the middle of assaulting you. Would you then gladly see the police?

I would hope that the police act properly any time I or anyone else calls them. I would also like to see the good cops call out the bad cops, but they can't or won't, and that's a big part of the problem. I would have a lot more respect for them if they would do that.
