  1. You might have a point, if his campaign people didn't clarify his position in the days after the debate. Unfortunate that you can't adhere to thinking points! Notice that you are the only one who keeps bringing up this irrelevent ****?
  2. It will work well for Romey when he can't quite come up with those 12 million jobs, add $0 to the defecit, lower taxes on all, and increase military spending to unprecedented levels, I suppose...hope he is taking notes!
  3. Yes, you are right..he was just "all for" the most popular aspects of it...the ones that would appeal to the 47% whose ass he suddenly found a need to kiss.
  4. Pat Buttram, isn't it?
  5. I have never mentioned "Big Bird", Ann Romney's horse, or any of the other things that were mentioned in regards to Romney, becasue they are stupid issues... I don't, however, find a candidate who reverses course, on a nearly daily basis, or has his campaign deny that he meant what he said afterwards, to be a "silly issue". It speaks volumes about the candidate. First comment was Tuesday, with "clarifiacation" on Wednesday. During the debate, Romney basically said that his "healthcare policy" provided continuous care for people with pre-existing conditions...negelcting to mention that his plan is like what already existed...pre-existing conditions as long as you weren't un-insured for 3 months prior. During the debate, Romney was all for the content of Obamacare, but firmly opposed to it. So, maybe he is not a "flip-flopper", sorry if that term offends his supporters, but he is certainly evasive and misleading...he isn't a dumb guy, so I assume this is his intent. On Tuesday, he wanted to assure the "uninformed" female voters that they should have no concerns on reproductive issues...but on Wednesday, when that caused a ripple with a certain right-wing group of voters, he had to assure them that he did, indeed, intend to change the landscape on the issue, whether through legislation or de-funding...
  6. Fair enough Gary, as long as we can get over this notion that Obama supporters are the only ones who hide their head in the sand.
  7. I guess you didn't read the article, but you are more than happy to argue...I can't think of a poster whose avatar is more appropriate. Thumbnail: On Tuesday, Romney says he has no plan to introduce any legislation to further restrict abortion...on Wednesday, he does a complete reversal and says that he does, indeed, plan to introduce legislation. I guess it is telling...I am sure Ryan has been sitting back with his feet up for the last week.
  8. Nah...never too early. I guess what I find interesting about Romney (other than the fact that he has a strong chance of being our next president) is how a right leaning Dem at heart has mananged to get the nomination from the Republican party...and his balancing act between the extreme ends of that party is just fascinationg to watch. And for all the crap people give President Obama (and believe me, much of it is deserved), they seem to be willing to overlook a lot of stuff that just doesn't add up with Romney. It seems to me, to speak more about how much the president is not liked, than a great love of Romney.
  9. You got the wrong person...I never "tried to stick" any of those things on Romney...not even once. All stupid issues (though I am intrigues by the "dead wife" thing...I never heard that) You don't find it all curious that the guy changes his position every 24 hours? He did so well in the debate (and I agree, he gave great performance) because he just basically changed his position on nearly everything that was discussed...hard to have a debate when someone just agrees with everything...the fact that his campaign had to go out the following week, and assure the wing-nuts that Romney didn't really mean anything he said in the debate must be comforting. Romney "evolves" by the minute.
  10. True that! He is every candidate in the world, capable of taking every side on any issue...contradictions are coming closer together...he's gonna pop soon!
  11. Stay tuned for developments: http://www.huffingto..._n_1955812.html Further news, Romney says he "never said I would create 12 million jobs...if I did, didn't mean that...I meant I would create 12 million parking spots." The collective is calling Odo home...
  12. Its' hard to measure such things...but I have to say, as someone who has been rooting for the Bills, with cognizance, since Lou Saban V.2, I never hated a time in Bills history as much as the Dick Jauron era. Chan has got his problems, no doubt, but I am not at the pitch-fork level with him...yet! It was during the Jauron era that my blind, eternal optimism about the Bills was snuffed out. I am not even going to necessarily blame it on Jauron, his coaches, his players...but I really hated watching the Bills during those years...that whole concept of playing dull as church football, waiting for the other team to make a mistake, so you might be able to pull off a three point win was just brutal. This year, with all the enthusiasm surrounding the team in the off-season, I would say I am more in shock than anything...not so much by the losses (I had their record at 2-3 after five weeks, with losses to the Jets, Pats and 49ers), but by the sheer apathy and incompetence they seem to play with, in each of the losses. I expected to lose to the 49ers. but expected more of a 21-17 kind of game...a 35-31 game against the Pats, maybe... these last two weeks reminded of the back to back drubbings last season against Dallas and San Diego. Only difference is, these come way too early in the season not to start thinking something is truly wrong with this team. I honestly did not expect the playoff drought to end this year, but I really thought we would see enough progress to think next year would, finally, be that year...still a lot of football to play...but it is not looking encouraging. It is starting to feel like we are spinning our wheels again... assuming there is a next season, and the Bills don't turn it around, I would love to see Doug Whaley get a shot as GM of this team... Funny, Kevin Gilbride has been involved in some of the most prolific offenses in the NFL over the last 25 years...but he was a "bum" for us!
  13. In all fairness, nobody on defense has "done much". Kyle Williams, Gilmore, Byrd and Anderson did well against the sucky teams...that seems so long ago now! More sucky teams please!
  14. The only way Wannestadt gets fired during the season, is if Gailey gets canned during the season...I don't think either thing is going to happen.
  15. I will say, I hated Flutie before he ever donned a Bills uniform, and threw-up in my mouth a little when the Bills signed him, He was, for me, the most difficult Buffalo Bill to root for. The stories I heard, once he was in Buffalo, didn't make me like him any more. But, all that said, he was an exciting alternative to RJ. Flutie, maybe because of this size, was an opportunist wherever he went. He was braught to Buffalo to add some vetran mentoring to Rob Johnson who was, for better or worse, the desgnated new "franchise QB". RJ had superior physical skills, but once Flutie realized he was lacking in confidence, he pounced, and made the team his own... great competitor Flutie, but maybe not the best teammate. I know guys like Wiley and Bruce liked him, cuz their defensive efforts weren't going to waste. But get Thurman or Andre Reed off the record, and I bet they won't have as many flattering things to say. Talk to the guys he played with in Chicago. Talk to his fellow players union members who he crossed the picket line on, so he could get his chance to flex his superior skills against bartenders and former all-state high school players. I am always conflicted when it comes to Flutie. I am not blind enough to say he didn't give us some thrills, or that he was a better QB than Rob Johnson. Strictly as a player, what I was always amazed by, as unorthodox as he was, and as physically small as he was, he had remarkable control of the ball, and was very careful with the ball. Not to say he didn't turn it over a time or two, but for some of the crazy stuff he did, he really didn't turn it over all that much. But, while he was our starting QB, I always had this feeling that we were doing it with smoke and mirrors, and the wizard would finally be exposed when it hurt the most. One of the most exhilerating moments, post Kelly era, was Fluties winning TD run against the Jags. Everyone remembers it. It was the launching point of "Flutopia" in WNY. But I will never forget, in the afterglow, as little Dougie basked in the lime-light, how he threw his HOF teammate under the bus...and Thurman wasn't happy about it. He made a point of telling everyone that Thurman "was supposed to take the handoff, but missed the call" (or something like that) " so being mighty mouse, I had no choice but to take matters into my own hands, and save the day"...if you look at that play, it is pretty obvious that Flutie had no intention of handing that ball off to anyone, even for a split second. Also, the notion that Flutie "saved the Bills" is pretty laughable, but it made good headlines at the time. A decision like that, particularly at a time when the Bills were still fairly relevant as a franchise, wouldn't come down to how many games they won or lost in their "contract season".
  16. It seemed to wonders for Mitt Romney in the first Presidential debate!
  17. Yes, some of those albums age quite well...love this song, "How Do You Sleep?"...a complete leveling of McCartney... "The only thing you done was Yesterday, and since you're gone, your just Another Day..." "The sound you make is muzak to my ears, you must have learned something all those years" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mprAKT27C0
  18. That is an option all three states I have voted in.
  19. So now that Romney is showing some positive movement, the polls are accurate? It is so hard to keep up with this stuff!
  20. I for one, was not a Flutie guy, but it was hard to argue with his record...but that season Flutie was playing dreadfully the last 6 or 7 games, and his arm appeared to be getting weaker by the week. It almost seemed like it was getting to the point that they were winning in spite of him, rather than because of him. I am not sure I would have made the move that Ralph (apparently) ordered right before the playoffs, but I won't say I wasn't kind of excited about it at the time.
  21. I was really hoping the Bills would have drafted Cousins this year...since it was apparent they weren't going to draft a QB early...I don't think anyone could have predicted the Redskins grabbing him...I like him. At this point though, it seems like anyone donning a Bills jersey is a "career back-up", even if they are a "starter" in name only.
  22. Lindell for Kirk Cousins...straight up!
  23. Yes, I have heard Wiley say it a few times, the move from Flutie to Johnson came from the top.
  24. Sad thing is, from what I understood from SJ on Schoop & Bulldog yesterday, the players are discouraged from being too verbal on the sidelines... to me, that might be a little what this team needs...Gailey can chirp all he wants, but if some is dogging it (and I am not claiming that is necessarily the case) nothing gets someone going like their peers calling them on it. I am not saying we need to have the "bickering Bills" all over again...but the "bickering Bills" were winning, and on the cusp of being a dominant team...maybe that inspired them some. Funny thing is, it almost seems like the same problem the Sabres have had for years...
  25. Perhaps my favorite Beatles song ever...great songwriter, great singer...hard to believe he has been gone for 32 years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZgO5_A77-g
