I think she was a great character, at first (and adorable as hell) but, unfortunately her story was too linked to Andy and the creepy guy (sorry can't remember his name at the moment..the guy who came over from Sabre...) that she wasn't funny any more either. The Andy character was, for me, the most painfully dreadful part of last season...as I said, watched all of last season, and only made it through the awful Halloween episode this last season, before I just decided that watching it was really not fun any more... On the plus side, Mindy Kalings' show "The Mindy Project" is one positive result of the demise of what was a really great show at one time...

Nice article. I agree with it, mostly. Only real qualm I have with it, it completely ignores the influence of (for me, the greatest sitcom) The Larry Sanders show...which Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant have cited numeroues times as being their biggest influence for the "The Office". Also, as much as I like "Modern Family" (I don't watch it religiously, but think it is pretty good when I do see it), I think it gets a little too much lauding from mainstream critics. The American version of "The Office", as the article pointed out, in its' prime (seasons 2-6) managed to walk the high-wire between between being harshly realistic (dark humour) and silly...it was near perfect. I will likely watch the last few episodes sometime soon...but I have missed this show for a few years now.

Mario Williams: no love for
Buftex replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I truly hope Mario Williams lives up to the image many of us had hoped for when he signed with the Bills. I hope he is a sack machine, and evokes memories of Bruce Smith for all of us, for the next 5 years or so. I hope the guy finds some happiness off the field as well... nobody here knows him, or his ex-fiance for that matter, so our theories are pretty pointless, and, if they have any affect on Mario Williams, it is more likely to be negative than positive. Lets' just leave the guy alone...cheer or jeer him on Sundays, and leave it at that...anyone who has ever been through a painful breakup realizes, with the passing of time, that there is plenty of blame to go around on either side of such a personal dispute. To have all your dirty laundry aired for speculation by people who, though well-intended, don't likely have a clue, only adds to the woes. As fans, lets' just hope this thing comes to pass, and Williams turns out to be the player we all had hoped he would be, for the Buffalo Bills. -
Exactly! Andy was hysterical, when he was the guy who needed "anger management"...but then they re-created him about a half dozen times, to fit whatever plot device they needed him for...Angela the same way. They just lost what made those characters great, to keep the show going. I actually thought the Robert California character was pretty good, but he didn't stick around long enough...Andy Bernard was an ill-sutied character to carry a show...I honestly couldn't stand watching Ed Helms any more (if I never saw him do an acapella bit again, it would be great)....and even Dwight was unbelievably stupid after a while...I never thoght that would happen. What made the Schrute character so great, when the show was good, was that he was equal parts, smart, clever and a-hole. By the end, he was dumb, easily duped, but still an a-hole...it just didnt' work as well.

Another reason to love Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Also, though her star may have faded (somewhat) in the US, she still sells millions of records internationally. -
His grandaughter killed in 2001 in a traffic accident...said he never got over it.

So, having sex with a hornets nest is a bad idea?

I wish I could care more...used to really love this show, but post-Carell just not feeling it enough. I watched it pretty religiously, until this past Octobers' Halloween episode...it was terrible. Makes me sad to say that. It was foolish of them to try to trudge forward without Carell, last season wasn't great, but this current season, after the 8 or so that I watched, was just horrendous. Great bit- characters like Angela, Kevin and Creed shouldn't carry a show. And, in my estimation, they killed Dwight Schrute to an extent I didn't think possible. They almost turned them into totally different characters. Did you watch all the way? Is it worth tuning in for the finale? I just figured they would be all over in syndication in the fall...am I giving it the short shrift?

She is known as a "shrewd" businesswoman, and I would bet she makes a ****-ton on song royalties...almost every female country artist records one of her songs, and "I Will Always Love You" alone probably keeps her income pretty steady. -

Agreed on the Sabres show...love the Sabres, and listened pretty religiously all season, but lately, I just have it on in the backround, and realize I have no idea what Sylvester and Peters are rambling on about. I don't really hold it against them, but, as much as I love hockey, I am more than willing to admit, I don't know the other NHL teams as well as I know the Sabres...and, for whatever reason, I can listen to football talk, most of the time, whether they are talking about the Bills or the Bengals for that matter. I just find the NFL more interesting, as a whole. I think Sylverster has a pretty tough job, as far as sports talk goes. He has to be going bonkers by now...a lock-out, a miserable season, and now the off-season. At this point, after the Sabres season is over, the best thing about "Hockey Hotline" is that it saves us from Colin Cowherd!

Agreed...though I think the reason Murhphys' show is so great is less because of him, and more because of all the guests he has, and the fact that he is talking football. As one who also enjoys hockey talk, I think the problem with Sylvesters' show is not enough guests, and it is just he and Peters talking about the same (crummy) team every day... personally, I am sure Murphy is a nice guy, but he isn't particularly exciting...but the producers are wise to have a nice slate of guests every night. That makes for good radio...

There is a new series called "Rectify" , created by some of the people involved with "Breaking Bad". My god, it is terrific. There have only been 5 episodes so far, with the season finale next week. It has been picked up for a second season, of, presumably, 12 or 13 episodes. It is the story of a guy who gets off of death row, after 19 years, when new DNA testing reveals that he may not have been a murderer. It takes place in a small Georgia suburb. Great writing, great acting. I don't want to go overboards, as it is still new, but it may be one of those "pantheon" shows for me (Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Mad Men..a cut above the rest). The only actors I recognize from anything are Abigail Spencer (played the school teacher that Don Draper had a daliance with in the second season of "Mad Men") and a brief (so far) appearence from Hal Holbrook. The only kicker is, the show is on the Sundance channel, which not everyone gets. It seems Sundance picked up exclusive re-run rights to the first 4 seasons of "Breaking Bad"...as a tie-in, they showed the "Rectify" premiere, on AMC, one Sunday night, after "Mad Men". Funny thing is, I don't get the Sundance Channel on Time Warner, proper, but up in the Time Warner menu of "on-demand" channels, there is channel called "Free On Demand", which happens to have some Sundance programming, including "Rectify".... Consider yourself warned!

I had no idea she was from a wealthy family...but I knew all the other stuff....even as she gets older, still super hot, in a quirky way...love "VEEP"... her abilty to deliver a great curse-word is right up there with Rip Torn on the old "Larry Sanders" show...always liked her. -
She is worth how much? Just call her J-Dough! http://www.huffingto...nk2&pLid=313015

Yeah, I will admit, as I get older, I pay less attention to other teams pre-season games (I used to watch pretty much all the nationally televised games), but I really look forward to the Bills games still. This will be my first pre-season with the NFL Network, so really looking forward to be seeig all of the Bills games, even if it is on tape delay. Years past, I would only get to see 1 or 2 every year. I know pre-season games are not the "real thing", but when I was a kid, we had a big family, and little money, so going to a pre-season game was a big deal to me. I still enjoy them...just the end of summer, kind of a pre-curser to fall, my favorite time of year, for so many reasons.

I thought I was the only one who actually enjoys pre-season games!

I Like Doug, but did he pay attention during English class?

Not for nothing, but I thought Chan Gailey was great to listen to... -
So, if I happen to tune in and he is talking about something other than the Bills at that time, does that mean he never talks about the Bills?

‘I couldn’t take her mouth anymore'

Not really sure what the point is here. -
I realize many hate GR, and there are legit gripes...but to say they don't talk abou the Bills is absurd. It was pretty much all they talked about yesterday, they are talking about them now... I realize, also, many here only follow the Bills, and not the Sabres..this is a Bills board, afterall. But don't lose sight of the fact that the station does also carry Sabres games, and their coverage is geared toward Buffalo area sports fans...not only Buffalo Bills fans. It seems like there is a lot of bitching about nothing sometimes. If this was Facebook, I would "like" this post!
