Two quarterback systems....in the NFL's future?
jaybee replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont recall who...but it has been tried a couple times over the years. I think the problem you run into is preparing for the next opponent. Teams only have a week to prepare and now you've got two guys taking snaps with the starting offense limiting their snaps in preparation. Not saying it couldn't work but I believe it disrupts continuity a bit. EDIT: Conversely..I suppose it does give the defense more to prepare for as well. jb -
Good post Buddylove. No real surprise there. Here's to hoping the Patriots play outstanding games against Buffalo...............................in a losing cause !! LOL ! jb

Can't really argue with OP. Either of these guys could bring something to a team under the right circumstances. In our case though, I don't think its worth it. We're stuck with Fitz's cap hit whether we cut him or not. May as well hang on to Fitz since he's at least as talented as either of the two QB's mentioned. Fitz is a solid back-up for us as well. We are going to draft and start a rookie as I see it. Hopefully an effective one. If he gets hurt, we've got a pretty darn good back-up in Fitz to hold the fort. jb

Bayless is a monument of just how ratings hungry the networks are. Bayless.... there he was...trying to manufacture reality TV, because he's not smart enough to conduct a meaningful intelligent interview. Hats off to the thug for putting that worm in his place. The world needs more of this. Mainstream media = Bull-dung. jb

Per Ed Kilgore: George Saimes has passed away
jaybee replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea, back in 2009 if I recall correctly. He was a GREAT Bill too. Loftin that ball up for Cookie Gilchrist! Damn those were the days. jb -
Per Ed Kilgore: George Saimes has passed away
jaybee replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its sad to see these legends pass. Hell as a boy I had all their football cards. Its guys like George that shaped my fan-hood at a very young age. OK I was an LA Rams fan as a boy. Roman Gabriel. Billy Truax. Les Josephson, Jack Snow. The fearsome foursome. Etc. But I was very aware of the AFL Buffalo Bills. They were my 2nd favorite team back in the 60's. Not anymore. I live and breath Buffalo Bills regardless of how bad they are. RIP George. Luv ya man. RIP. jb -
Say what you want. Leodis is a damn good football player and I'm proud to have him on our team. Love this signing. We're gonna have a competitive team this year. You watch. jb

Ya know what ? Draft em both !! Or equivalent. We need a QB bad bad bad bad bad. Draft more than one is what I'm thinkin. I get corn-fused watching the film on QB's. They all look pretty darn good to me. Just find it Buffalo. Find it. Reverend Marrone I'm counting on you man !! jb

Boy it sure will be interesting. Ya know, maybe I'm just OD'n on Kul-aid but damn...for some reason I've got a good feeling about our QB situation going forward. I just have that feeling we're gonna take someone in round 2....maybe even 3 and the player is gonna work out well for us. And...prior to that pic we'll land a difference maker....maybe a WR or a LB at # 8. Hope I'm right on this. This should be good off season. And...I'm new here and I really appreciate all of the insight you guys bring. You guys know yer sh*t. I've learned a lot from all of you. Many thanks everybody. jb

Steven Jackson - Bills need another RB
jaybee replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Steven Jackson. Oh God...PLEASE don't go to the Patriots. Frankly, I love Steven Jackson.....and I dont want to hate em. If he goes to NE its gonna just kill me. Obviously we have needs to address and RB isn't one of em. I like Steven so much I almost wish we did need a RB !! LOL !! I wish him well wherever he ends up. He's one of those guys that just makes this game great. jb -
This makes sense to me. A couple thoughts... I would like to think Fitz could help mentor our new rookie starting QB. I would also think he could be an effective back-up should the new QB go down. He'd be hungry to play, and healthy from not getting banged around...and (hopefully) play well enough to not lose should the need arise. Keeping him around in our situation may end up being the best option. jb

The 53 Year Anniversary Bills Wall of Shame Awards
jaybee replied to Meathead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didnt have time to review the whole thread so forgive me if its already been mentioned (and I gotta believe it has). Billy Joe Hobert. QB picked up in 97 (from the Raiders I think??) that admitted to not reviewing the playbook. jb -
Levitre: Hasn't heard anything from the Bills yet

Actually you've probably nailed it right there. jb -
Levitre: Hasn't heard anything from the Bills yet
jaybee replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My useless tidbit of the day: "I don't know," Nix told The Associated Press when asked if the team had reached any decisions regarding Levitre and Fitzpatrick. "We're still in the process of working on it." read the full story here http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9019900/buffalo-bills-mulling-futures-ryan-fitzpatrick-andy-levitre jb -

Dwayne Bowe signs 5 year deal with Chiefs
jaybee replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As most of you probably know, Branden is a local kid that went to East High here in Rochester. Pretty good stuff that he rose from nothing to a very good NFL football player. jb -
Yup. It all starts in the trenches. jb

filling the "holes" with useful vets
jaybee replied to jcbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read on here Fitz can only throw the ball 10 yards. So I guess it must be true ? I havent forgotten this just yet and I wouldn't be bothered at all if Fitz remains a Bill ...albeit after a contract restructure. EDIT: Fitz may well be a useful vet on this team. Great mentor, solid back-up. (ps....I dont know how to post video on this site...sorry.) -
[please fix subject]Linebacker
jaybee replied to unpaid_bills34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You guys are nuts and I mean that in a good way. Some pretty darn interesting analysis here. Man its gotta be tough in the war room for the muckety-mucks figuring out who to take in this draft / FA period. Lets hope they get it right and we're all ecstatic about a winning season in 2013. Can't damn wait. Thanks fella's. Keep up the great work. jb -
Randy Moss will not return to the Niners
