Okay...Help me out. What's the comparison between WM and Bruce? Yes they were both problem children, but on the field there was no comparison. Even early on(first 3 years of his career) Bruce was a dominant player, where WM has never risen above mediocre.
-
I couldn't care less what WM said as a Bill or what he says as a Raven. The only thing that matters is that he was a very mediocre RB for the Bills who seemed to get worse not better in his 3 years on the field. Nobody really knows what was going on behind the scenes, but it was clear that he wore out his welcome at OBD. In that regard, two 3rd's and a 7th is a job well done by Marv. Good riddance.

The amount of money being handed to high draft picks is a joke. Why is so much being turned over to unproven commodities when many proven players who have been in the NFL for 5+ years will never approach those same amounts. Look at the amount of money thrown at Mike Williams. In todays Buffalo News, I read that Donte Whitner is due a 8+ million dollar bonus. This insanity has to stop. Pay the proven players the money they deserve and let the rookies show what they've got before dumping the wheelbarrows of cash in their laps. I'm not saying they should be signed for the league minimum upon being drafted, but the huge contracts they are being signed to is way out of wack.

I have to get back on the AI bandwagon. I watched all the tryout shows, none of the Hollywood week shows and about 5 minutes since then. No Taylor Hicks type singers = boring competition. I have to make a point to watch it next Tuesday.

Is anyone else sick of Jeremy White?
LabattBlue replied to yall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've said this from the very beginning when Howard moved to mornings at WGR. Last time I looked it was the "Howard Simon Show". More Howard and ONLY turn on Jeremy's mike when he is doing 20/20 sports updates. -
The first part of this quote from Ozzie also made me laugh... "This is a runner who can make people miss [tackles] and has the explosion and speed to take it the distance,"

I'm sick of Briggs trade proposals(and usually bad ones at that). Where has it been stated that Chicago is actively shopping him. All that was said, is that Briggs is unhappy that they tagged him. Whoop de friggin do! He's not the first player to be UNFAIRLY slapped with the tag and he won't be the last. PS Note to all these geniuses. If you don't like being tagged, complain to your union leadership who keep agreeing to it as part of a new CBA.

Thumbs up to the whole Bills staff!
LabattBlue replied to Helmet_hair's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't say I wasn't happy. I said I was skeptical. I'm GLAD that they seem to be addressing the OL and with the length of contract they gave these guys, I would hope that they are more of a solution than past years acquisitions. All I know is that they gave a lot of money to 2 guys whose names don't seem a lot different from Bennie Anderson, Mike Gandy, Chris Villarrial, Tutan Reyes, etc... -

Why should I be anything but skeptical? Just because we threw millions of dollars at them means they will be good? -

While the $$$ spent makes me want to believe that there will be a significant improvement in the OL play, I will reserve judgement until the season starts. -
I'm sure there will be a great demand for the strong arm cement feet tough pocket passer with the fantastic passer rating for throws over 10+ yards.

The real indicator is how will he do on the Krumrie wrestling test?
-
Considering Denver has a knack for making any RB on their team a 1000+ yard rusher, I'd be surprised if they give up a pick for WM.

Take a look at his track record. Calling him a headcase is a major understatement... 1. Bryant caught 40 passes for a team-leading 733 yards last season, but repeatedly ran afoul of coach Mike Nolan's strict disciplinary standards. Bryant was arrested in November after a wild escapade in his orange Lamborghini, and he later angered Nolan for being late to a team meeting. Bryant ended last season midway through a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy -- and the 49ers decided they wouldn't wait to deal with Bryant's next problem. 2. During a minicamp practice in 2004, Bryant and Cowboys coach Bill Parcells got into a heated dispute that ended with Bryant throwing his sweaty jersey at Parcells' face. 3. Bryant was kicked out of practice by security, sent to anger-management counseling and eventually traded to Cleveland, where he was dropped after conflicts with coach Romeo Crennel despite posting his first 1,000-yard season in 2005. I'll pass.

They can get involved to a certain extent(if things get a lot worse than they are now), but for a US Senator to be pleading that the Bills schedule should be arranged so that they don't have as many blackouts is a joke. If Bills fans can't sellout the stadium without the help of a favorable home schedule, than the games are not on TV. Simple as that. This is such a big deal that Schumer needs to come to the rescue? Once again, I would like to believe that there are more important issues on his plate. You quote a lot of estimates, studies and so forth regarding the Bills in Buffalo, but I'm sure there are plenty of cities(the size of Buffalo) throughout the US that are thriving without a NFL football team. Don't get me wrong, I'm a lifelong WNY'er who doesn't want to see them leave, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if they did. That being said, Ralph's posturing is getting old and I'm not sure how much of it, is a case of "the boy who cried wolf", but this is why Schumer is getting all riled up? The Bills are not moving and Schumer(like every other political hack) is just looking to get his name in the media without accomplishing much of anything.

What is Thurman Thomas doing?
LabattBlue replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How so? -
No, I don't have any idea how much money this brings to the area...enlighten me? How much money does the county dole out to the Bills every year? Ask your breakfast buddy Reynolds these questions and then get back to me. As far as the amount of attention an NFL team brings to an area...who gives a s-h-i-t.

I can appreciate Shumers interest in keeping the Bills here, but considering how F***ed up New York State is, I would think there are things higher on the pecking order than this. Now wonder this state is a joke. WHEN THINGS DON'T CHANGE FOR THE BETTER, DON'T RE-ELECT POLITICIANS OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

Agreed

Interesting point regarding Hargrove
LabattBlue replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. I'm not saying Hargrove cannot be a good player for the Bills, but everyone also loved Krumrie because he ran around with a lot of energy and had this great wrestling test to determine what college DT's were draft worthy. We all know how that worked out.
