  1. He was finished about two years ago.
  2. By the time Buffalo figures out what the rest of the division is doing, it's too late. Miami walked right bye Buffalo last year like they weren't even there.
  3. Exactly. Add two more words: roster spot.
  4. And what a wasted pick. They traded up to get him also I believe. Buffalo should as a policy NEVER trade up, only trade down and whenever possible.
  5. I had come up with a stat. which basically also added fumbles and INTs to that, and called it the "badness" index. In other words, the ratio of times dropped back to something BAD happening. J.P. was right up there with R.J. I never got around to compaing to all starters any given year, but did compare J.P.'s badness to say a Brady or another top QB and often the J.P. 's ratio would like 200 % - 300 % greater that a very good QB. That last play against the Jets was a prime example. If you can't make a play, at least don't pee all over yourself. Noone seemed too interested in it though. Hope J.P. does well and stays healthy.
  6. A decade, a decade. That's almost 10 years. And the last I heard season tickets are just flying off the shelves. 29 out of 32 over the 10 year span, that's incredible, and also why Ralph can have a marketing guy to head the team, because it just doesn't matter as long as seats are sold. That's it.
  7. You're probably right. I just figured after getting WORKED against N.E. and losing a stunning last minute game to T.B. on a bad call/non-call/D.J. call, they pull all the stops out and man up against N.O. at home.
  8. Sept. 14 @ New England 7:00 LOSS 0 - 1 Ouch. Sept. 20 Tampa Bay 4:05 LOSS 0 - 2 Sept. 27 New Orleans 4:05 WIN 1 - 2 Oct. 4 @ Miami 4:05 LOSS 1 - 3 1 - 3 after four games Old Ralph is essence has put this franchise on auto-pilot with the 3 year contract given Jauron. The Front Office will spin tough schedule, or new O-line, or QB injuries, or "2010 is the new make or break year", or solar flares, or rookies didn't produce, or not enough talent. Take your pick.
  9. Someone posted a while back the exact stats, but a believe interior linemen drafted in the 1st and 2nd rounds is like the lowest bust rate of any position.
  10. "Oy Vey" is right. That game was so painful it's become a repressed or suppressed memory of some sort. Too painful and traumatic to exist in the conscious memory. Besides, I was only pointing out THIS years issues. If someone would care to catalog the D.J. hall of coaching shame moments, go for it. How many times has this team come out of a time-out and got a delay of game penalty or something else stupid? Seriously.
  11. Yes, the coaching brilliance and acumen of Dick Jauron have been on display in Buffalo for three years now. Of particular note were the Cleveland, New England and New York Jet games. He has no doubt reached his coaching zenith and will likely overachieve again this year: to the tune of about 6 wins. I not saying he has a lot to work with, but come on. You can't put away Cleveland, at home, with the ball in the 4th? And that gem at the end against the Jets was a thing of beauty also.
  12. Last year was "make it or break it" year. He broke it, was outcoached severely in several games, made numerous bone-headed decisions, led the team to yet another 7-9 season, and was rewarded with a new contract. Buffalo will not make the playoffs again this year, which will make it 10 years running I believe, and worst in the NFL along with Detroit.
  13. Doesn't anyone remember D.J. getting WORKED by Belichick last season? I was ugly and embarrassing.
  14. 1. Poor to average QB play. 2. Poor to average coaching/game day decisions. 3. Poor to average pass rush. 4. The rest of the AFC, including New England/Pittsburg/Indy/Tennessee/San Diego. In addition, with 2 starting rookie O-linemen, an injury prone QB and a rough schedule, it dosn't bode well. To overcome # 4, you'll need to overcome 2 of the first 3, which is likely to be trumped by # 2 in any case.
  15. Marshawn Lynch - Missed 1 game. He'll miss at least three to start this season. Suspended. Josh Reed - Missed 3 games. Jason Peters - Missed 3 games. You are counting him as injured? How about PUP would be more accurate. Trent Edwards - Missed 2 games. This is going to be an ongoing problem. Aaron Schobel - Most of season. Angelo Crowell - Never made the staring roster. Now gone. Ashton Youboty - Backup, may be gone this year. Ryan Denney - Appeared in 16 games, started 11. Jabari Greer - Missed 6 games. That did hurt.
  16. Well, then the Bills have a track record of being more "turvy" than "topsy". The Bills had very few injuries last year and won't be playing the worst division in football, the NFC West. Regarding luck, chance does not seem to favor the Bills very often. D.J. has the effect of William Macy in "The Cooler". Any luck there was to be had is sucked into space by Jauron putting the team in bad situations.
  17. The Bills have had one (1) winning season in the last nine years, 9-7 in 2004, and they are going to win 10 games this year with D.J. at the helm? Have you seen the schedule?
  18. Trent Edwards will again miss time this year, I guess two games. Lynch is already suspended for the first three games of the season. D-coordinators figured out the "Turk" last season pretty quick, and he was unable to respond with anything. Oh yeah, the O-line will feature two starting rookies. 6-10 if they are lucky, and Jauron doesn't pull too many brain farts, and T.O. doesn't go T.O. halfway through the season when playoff chances are generally slipping away. Kelsay looks to improve? Really? Since when? The guy is turning 30 this season, and had a career low in sacks since his rookie season. If you're looking for him to improve, you may be waiting a long time.
  19. I don't get it either. If he was so spectacular as SS, they wouldn't have decided they could get by with Bryan Scott at that position. With all the DBs drafted the last four years, you really don't seem to have much if you are swapping Whitner around and attempting to piece together your safety situation. In addition, drafting another very high DB/Safety really says that they don't like what they already have there, and Byrd must be projected to start so Whitner would be moved yet again, which would probably be best as he has 2 INTs and 6 PDefs in three seasons. http://www.nfl.com/players/dontewhitner/profile?id=WHI720119
  20. Right. But I thought they made it pretty clear that they don't like Whitner as SS. At least that's the impression I got. The other thing, I don't believe tha Bills need any more 5'10" DBs, particularly as SS.
  21. The same reason they don't like Whitner at SS, he's too small.
  22. Why would they draft Byrd in 2nd round, who can only play FS, and not hope to have him start?
