Chargers running game is it going to work with Herbert and the threat of the pass. Steelers stacking like 9, 10 guys in the box.

first play is always CJ Spiller up the middle for 2 yards. It is a tradition. -

Studying up on the Jags first games a little. They basically lost their first two games due to a few errors and miscues: eg, fumble by Etienne as as he is about to score against Dolphins, and illegal formation penalty to call back the go-ahead TD against the Browns. Other miscues too in both of their games. But this team easily could be 2-0. I think this is going to be a tough one. -
Have you ever quit following a sports team?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in Off the Wall
I kind of wonder if that was the issue with the Mets for me. I am from WNY. Liked the Mets because they were on TV when I was a kid, but otherwise I have no connection to NYC. And being a bills fan, it’s a bit uncomfortable to root for a big market team. -
I was talking to a buddy today, and we were lamenting how as kids we loved baseball, but now no longer follow it. i was a die-hard Mets fan (would probably watch just about every game on TV), and knew everything about the Mets and MLB. in 2002, when they threw dumb money at Mo Vaughn, decided to try to outspend the Yankees, and fired my beloved Bobby V, I basically quit following them (and baseball) cold turkey. Anyone else doing something similar?

Flashback EJ manual comeback drive

same. We totally lucked out. I think there was some griping after the game by the panthers too. -
Flashback EJ manual comeback drive

that’s actually smart by Manuel. 1:45 left. Plenty of time. Those dump downs were easy yards. And the defense gives those to you. to defend Carolina here, the defensive scheme worked. Just got called for a pretty ticky tack PI call. Without that, the game is over. -

Not sure patriots’ heavy man coverage is working either. -

By the way, I hate this ref (hussey) with a passion. He throws way too many flags and it feels like he is out there just looking to pick fights with players. -

Jets have no respect for the pats passing game. Blitzing every time. -

what the heck was that? I have never seen a “QB forward progress is stopped”? He was clearly wiggling out still. -

Our LBs against the Jets RBs in coverage is going to be a concern this year. Sort of wonder if we are in a base dime against them? -

I am always confused how other teams can run those TE boot legs so easily to a wide open guy. And it never seems to work for us. -
Josh Allen, committed singles hitter (The Athletic)

Another interesting thing about this article is that it makes clear that you don’t really need good safeties to play these shell defenses. It’s probably why the team feels fine with Hamlin and rapp back there on our end. -

Weird .I just read an article re fantasy football that said to start Shakir because the jags have given up the second most yards to receivers in the NFL. -
This is pretty funny: kicking is too easy now, and a proposal to narrow the posts. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/have-nfl-kickers-gotten-so-good-a-rule-change-is-in-order-204633916.html

but that was cover 0. I am assuming the jags will try to mostly rush 4 or 5, and have a guy stick with our RBs in coverage. I think we need a receiver and TE who can get open. Maybe it is Coleman catching some contested balls too? good points. But would love to not have to rely on Allen scrambling around. -

This is a concern. Don’t think we have a true “man beater.” Seems like the one guy who was good at that was Isaiah McKenzie. -

Man, why am I so excited to see Buffalo Joe suit up?! I really hope this guy turns into something!
