kinda wonder how good their pass D is. They have played Zappe/Hoyer, Fields, Heineke, Zach Wilson, and Daniel Jones. All those QBs had dud games against the Packers They played cousins and Brady, and both of those guys had pretty good games.

His utter weirdness is news to me. In Seattle, i thought he was a normal guy. He comes from a normal family, went to a Big 10 school, successful but seemingly humble. it seems like all his weirdness came out of left field.

I talk sports with almost everyone all the time. I don’t mind talking to enemy fans either. I will say that the people I do try to avoid talking sports with are these fair weather types who are not knowledgeable about sports.

Don’t get me wrong. I agree with this. That’s why I said both are great and very opportunistic. Hamlin and Johnson are not as good, and they probably can’t get the 2-5 picks that Hyde and Poyer get on average each year. But it seems like these backups can play disciplined in our scheme.

This is a good point. It is becoming clearer to me that the scheme we run here may have contributed to the success of our safeties (and corners.). hyde and Poyer are great, and they are always around the ball And are very opportunistic. But you have to remember that both these guys were late draft picks and mostly backups until they got here.

This is why I think the NFL is approaching the Rooney Rule the wrong way. If you have a strong nepotism policy, you won’t have to worry about the Rooney Rule or the lack of minority candidates. I guarantee that if your dad was some sort of coach in the NFL, you would (with zero experience) be able to get some type of coaching job (at least an entry level one) in the NFL tomorrow. The NFL has a serious nepotism problem.

I bet the pats say that Mac didn’t look right with his ankle still, and that gives them the ability to go back to him next week if needed.

Zappe is making the right reads, throwing accurate balls, and getting the ball out. Yeah, guys are open— but he is still doing the right things. Fields is dropping the snaps, throwing ducks, and running around the backfield for 5 seconds because he can’t process any of his options.

how about a top-15 in the league QB? I can’t think of a single Ohio State QB who meets that criterion.

Fields is really bad. Has there ever been a good Ohio State QB in the NFL? You don’t have guys streaking wide open by 10 yards like in college. Zappe outplaying the Alabama and Ohio State guys out there.
