  1. well, it's kinda even as former Bill's OL coach Sean Kugler is starting Jonathan Scott at LT and their 3rd string LT is Jamon Meredith.
  2. Because of people like Bob Barr. He's a former federal prosecutor and congressman from GA, who has publicly stated his support for the DP, and one of the original authors of the Anti-Terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996, which he claims was misinterpreted by the lower courts who refused to hear Davis' petition for a writ of habeas corpus. Nor has the court heard witnesses whose testimonies have changed, only their written affidavits. and it's not "no DNA", it's No Physical Evidence, zero, zip.
  3. ya, I get your Boy Who Cried Wolf metaphor and its justified I guess. Too bad this time it looks like he didn't do it. how about Perhaps wrongly convicted
  4. Chan said he was good on ST, and that was the reason they brought him back... It was on a video, press conference thingie, I can probably find it if you want.
  5. Parole board denies clemency for Troy Davis William S. Sessions, former Director of the FBI said: Despite the fact that 7 of the 9 eyewitnesses have recanted or significantly changed their testimony, in some cases stating publicly that the police coerced them into identifying Troy Davis as the killer, and no physical or DNA evidence linking him to the killing, Georgia's State Board of Pardons and Paroles has denied clemency. Davis is scheduled to be executed tomorrow.
  6. some of the new Power Rankings are out, pretty good showing... PFT #11 nfl.com #13 CBS Sports #14
  7. Mark Schlereth picks the Bills and yet on Countdown Daily goes with the Raiders. Go figure.
  8. anything by Ernest Hemingway, who else can get away with run-on sentences...
  9. you can get free 2000-2010 Play-by-Play here in CSV format. There's a number of CSV-to-XML converters available like this one
  10. umm, I'd be one of the last guys to call you out JW, but my understanding is that he played center and some OT in college. When he was drafted by the Panthers, he backed up Jeff Mitchell (center) and played ST, eventually replacing Justin Hartwig (also a center) when he went down to injury. When was this guard duty you speak of?
  11. Fixed, and not strong enough, according to the GM. You might disagree, but if the coaches want OLs that can play multiple positions, players that can't are expendable.
  12. He came and out said very matter-of-factly that they (and Jasper) knew that he was better on offense. They deliberately played him on the DL during preseason to throw off the other teams when they intended to stash him on the PS and develop him as an OL. well played
  13. FWIW, Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News publishes an annual ranking of NFL special teams. For the 2009 season, the Bills were ranked 4th overall under Bobby April. Last year, we fell to #27. How much was due to the new coaching, etc. is subjective, but that's a pretty significant drop. It'll be interesting to see how Bruce DeHaven's STs perform this year. I apologize for the crappy 2010 link. That content is reserved for subscribers of the Dallas Morning News and I pulled it from Google's web crawler cache...
  14. I think he means in the seating area; not do they have a designated smoking area. This link confirms that no NFL stadium allows smoking in the seating areas and about half of them have designated smoking areas, and it seems like most are outside the facility.
  15. Jasper's Facebook page says his nickname is Shadow, aptly named for his sun-blocking skills
  16. yes, this was my takeaway also... well written, but way too biased and unrealistic. as you say, early stage companies give stock options to the people they expect to retain for a number of years, not short term talent that goes where the money is. also conspicuously absent was any mention of rookie wage scale
  17. In addition, back then the AFC East was nothing like it has been the last 10 years or so. The Bills rolled through its division rivals, secured home field advantage for the playoffs, and fought off every other challenge with a great defense to get to the SB.
  18. JW wrote that Stroud was due $10M over the next 2 seasons. If I'm reading this right, 3/1/11 he was owed $5.5M and 3/1/12, it was to be $4.5M.
  19. I'm curious as to why you say this. Seems like it would be more like a yellow cautionary flag in racing; keep your position order, but gaps close a bit.
  20. talks between the owners and players union have collapsed ESPN also noted that the owners proposed a new rookie wage scale, seemingly rejected by the NFLPA's Smith...
  21. I noticed his eyes, he was really wasted IMO not that it's a bad thing...
