  1. interesting story about undrafted rookie FA Antonio Coleman from his local paper and an earlier piece from bb.com. Plus, the kid can play and still keep his priorities in order
  2. ...that he was our best defensive player for most of them and maybe the team will be better if he returns. He hasn't cost them much besides the contract money they budgeted anyways and a roster spot, which they'll get back pretty soon if he DNRs. Would it be way better if he made a decision a long time ago and either announced he was retiring or yes, I'm going to play and I will join the team on x date? Of course, but it hasn't worked out that way.
  3. he may be, but my (albeit limited) understanding of the situation is that Ralph was ok with Aaron taking an extra day off during the season, but it was Nixed by the HC and GC's opinion was likely supported by our GM. Part of the reason it was a such a difficult decision, since he knew he probably wasn't gonna get any extra family time.
  4. AS said he talked to Kollar during a golf game recently, coach asked him if he'd regret walking away -or- playing next January. AS then said, yeah, I could definitely see myself regretting retirement, so maybe now I'm not so sure. Linky I gotta go with that and see what happens next.
  5. OLBs in a 3-4 have to drop back into pass coverage sometimes. Lining up and rushing the passer is an over-simplification of what they need from Aaron in the new defense. Can he do well or even pretty good at it? Nobody knows yet.
  6. no argument there, just all this intuition stuff about wanting to be traded, pulling a Favre, etc. doesn't pass the smell test.
  7. it seems that his ex-coach got him thinking that maybe he's not ready to retire... He never wanted to be traded...he wanted an extra day off during the regular season to be home with his family. The Bills' FO said something along the lines of no, sorry, we can't agree to that and so Aaron had to decide which was more important - family time or going back to NFL football. It's a tough choice for a guy like him.
  8. no, because of the fact that Andra has made most of the defensive calls in the OTAs and minicamps. While Mitchell and Poz have been given that role at times, Gailey made it clear that he wanted more than 1 ILB to know how. That tells me Davis has the ILB starting position and will make the defensive calls in September, unless he's injured. Poz will start next to him. yes, for the reasons above... the problem with your combination is that Mitchell hasn't taken snaps (or certainly not many) as an OLB so far. because he has consistently practiced with the 1s up till now. Obviously that could change during TC and preseason, but for now, depending on the Schoebel situation, he's likely to start at OLB with (IMO) Torbor, or maybe Kelsay.
  9. aesthetically, I love it, but the usability side needs work. As an example, there's no list of related links, like other Bills articles on the Sports pages. but the colors, fonts and graphics are really good IMO
  10. even on a wildly dysfunctional FO like the Bills, you'd have to admit that the GM, with heavy input from Ralph, basically makes the HC decision, and others get to weigh in on it... Buddy Nix is now large and in charge; he obviously thought Gailey was the best man for the job this year, and he sold it to Ralph. you can do better than that..
  11. ya, that's what I thought. A good coach runs what they got and all those stats preceded today's NFL strategies
  12. this is basically what I took away from the article. Coach hasn't named the "pecking order" yet and probably a couple players are giving their opinion based on their own observations from OTAs and minicamp. ya, what he said... PM's been right and wrong in the past. It's just his opinion.
  13. I watched an incredible documentary on Rachel Scodoris, a 23 year old, legally blind musher who races in the Iditarod, called Snowblind. She basically follows an experienced musher named Joe Runyan, since she really can't see the trail ahead of her. Director Vikram Jayanti films her on the trail with some amazing footage. Snowblind isn't showing up anywhere on the net, but hopefully still on Discovery Channel, and here in Boston, it's on the GRNHD Channel. Definitely worth a look. You can also buy the DVD from the Discovery Channel Store for $19.95
