But the Monday night team was hard to listen to; very boring, in my view. And the lack of quality broadcast voices, especially the two color guys, was part of it. Aikman is not a favorite of mine but he is a significant step up. MNF ratings will improve. If they can pair him up with Buck, the ratings will improve dramatically. And they will get better games to broadcast.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if Belichick retired?
Mister Defense replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
No, why now?? Just when the Bills seem to have the organization and team to create their own dynasty? Makes no sense. And we should want the best coach in our division still--it made the Bills stronger and will continue to force them to sharpen the blade. -
Do you want Daboll to leave for a HC job?
Mister Defense replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Your stats a good indication of the need for both. They can indicate that a good passing game often relies on a good running game, and visa versa. Which three playoff teams don't have a top ten running game? -
Do you want Daboll to leave for a HC job?
Mister Defense replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, a very good point, idea. And this coach and GM see this weakness and are looking for ways to really change it. That is how they operate--understand the team's weaknesses and then fix them. Imagine the success Josh Allen's teams will have in Buffalo whey they have a running game that matches their passing game and an offense that is always evolving. To make these things happen, they need that different perspective you suggest. -

No, to that cliche that this is a 'passing league now', and that the running game is not that vital, and that running backs are basically a dime a dozen. It is just the very illogical very bad common 'wisdom' that has permeated the media the last few years. People hear the nonsense, repeat it, and so it spreads. But that does not make it so. Of course that cliche we have all heard so often over the last few years does not make sense. We all saw that this year with the Bills--and in last year's AFC Championship game. Without a very solid running game a team is very unlikely to win it all. A great running game will likely power this year's Super Bowl winner as it did last year. The Bucs ran for almost 150 yards in last year's Super Bowl. They had a running game that prevented the Chiefs from teeing off on Brady the way they did to Allen. I was screaming from the rooftops last year to develop the running game, and all of this year too. Too many good teams in the NFL to not have a multi-dimensional team. So tonight, go Singletary, throw in some Moss, a little Bradea if he is active, and let the Bills wide receivers run tonight too. Run the ball, keep getting better at it, and then maybe, even coming to it soo late in the year, the Bills can still get good enough at doing so that they win the AFC. -
New Stadium will have a grass field per Mort

Great news!! Outdoor stadium, with grass! How football should be played. And hopefully in Orchard Park. -
Do you want Daboll to leave for a HC job?
Mister Defense replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes. He fails to use the talent around him, to see what he has, the way a great coach should. After the one dimensional nature of the offense last year, and the resulting inability to put up a strong effort against the Chiefs, allowing them to mercilessly key in on Allen, he started the year in the exact same way. We were screaming at The Ralph early in the Steelers game to run the f***ing ball!--with the running backs but he didn't do so until it was too late. It was as if what happened against the Chiefs never happened. Then, it took him most of this year to start creating a more multi-dimensional offense. While it is better late than never, I think it may have been too late for this team to reach its potential. Daboll has done some very good things and for that I am thankful, but I don't think he has good vision, creativity and the kind of high level coaching ability to use the players he has in the best way possible. I think it is pretty clear that this offense and team (and Allen and Singletary and Knox and Diggs... ) will not reach their potential, which is greatness, under Daboll. (I still think this team's talent can carry them to a championship this year, though, as will be shown tonight, 31-10.) But, I also think this is why he will not get a head coaching job this year and will remain with the Bills. -
Just like I said last week, it will be Singletary again. He made those first two drives what they were and then made key plays throughout the game. This time, against the Falcons, he will finally get the 25 touches he should get. And he will run for 100 yards too. Immediately last week it was clear the Pats had to respect the Bills running and short passing game, opening up the pass game.
-
Devin Singletary will continue to establish himself as the Bills' primary running back after gaining over a 5 yards a carry on his first down runs against the Panthers. Between runs and catches he should touch the ball at least 25 times, and will get stronger as the game progresses, as most good featured backs do. More touches will play to his strengths--his elite vision, as he will learn more with each carry and establish a rhythm, and his motor. If the Bills are smart, and Dabol may not be, the Bills will spread the field and run from those formations. I don't know if the run will set up the pass or visa versa on Sunday, but this is what should happen. And what needs to happen if the Bills are to be true contenders again this year.

Losing what may be our best player on defense will make us better because he did not play "lights out" (in your analysis) in two games? Carson Wentz was 11/20 for 106 yards. But even if you were accurate there, and White had an awful game against the Colts and Titans, it is radically illogical to say that losing their best defensive player, and one of the best corner backs in the NFL, will mean the Bills 'defense will actually get better'. Makes no sense. The Bills may be okay if they lose White for the year, and may rise to the challenge. But losing White would be a big obstacle to overcome.

Best gate and best parking for section 112
Mister Defense replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall
We turned down California drive off of Abott(?), and then soon on Southwestern, seemingly avoiding almost all of the traffic. Parked in large private lot on the corner. Checked out gates 5 and 6, and then found 7 was much less crowded. And then found that section 112 was right by the stadium exit. And, to me, great football weather. But bring on the snow. I don't think I have ever experienced as little traffic/delays in driving to the stadium, getting in, and then leaving as last Sunday. So, thanks for the advice from all, and WotAGuy. So, almost a perfect game last Sunday... Next Monday night it will be. -

That's real helpful--I agree Fasteddie. Had a friend nicknamed that at Oswego.. -
Cannot find a map online with the stadium seating that also includes the streets around the stadium, so... What is the best road to get into the stadium area, best street to park on if we choose private parking, and best gate to enter for these seats. I thought this would be the quickest and easiest way to get this info. Thanks! Go Bills: Bills 31-Colts 13

Jon Gruden suing the NFL, Roger Goodell
Mister Defense replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Has to be sarcasm here, right? Gruden will get nothing, just humiliate himself and his family even more if that is possible. -

Lol Just go away, crawl into a hole where you belong, Gruden. What a complete jack**s he is. You'd think the moron would have just laid low and lived his life, tried to find a little dignity for himself. Nope! No dignity, no integrity, and both ignorant and stupid. -
Jim Kelly Was Better Than Brady Imo..
Mister Defense replied to Billsfanatic8989's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Stop. End this nonsense. At first I was thinking 89 represented Tasker, but now am thinking you may be 89, as you ignore Brady and Brees completely. If so, Congratulations! (And you are a Homer, of course!) Brady is maybe the best NFL player of all time, and almost assuredly the best quarterback. I too wish this were not the case, but it is very hard to deny. Those 'gates' you mention are just sour grapes. If there was any doubt how good Brady is it should have been erased this year by going to Tampa Bay and winning the Super Bowl in his first year, and he may go back this year (and lose to the Bills). Jim Kelly was an excellent quarterback and a great leader of a great Bills team for a long time. But Brady won SEVEN Super Bowls., his TEAMS did. So it is completely illogical for anyone to ever say Kelly is the better quarterback. Now, Josh Allen, that may be another story... -
Edgerrin James made the HOF?
Mister Defense replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With 9 1,000 yard rushing seasons and THIRD all time in the NFL, I think Gore will roller skate into the Hall of Fame. -
Edgerrin James made the HOF?
Mister Defense replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes, those stats are well beyond very good, 8 times over 1,200 yards! I was going to look them up then saw your post; surprised, and definitely very deserving of the Hall of Fame. And from what I recall, a good character guy too. Nice take! -
Okay, some good points, but if Wentz is not a high caliber starting NFL quarterback again, I do think he will go down as one of the all time busts. What if I was off, much too low in my earnings number, as I say, and by almost 70 million dollars, would that make you rethink things? It is actually $177 million dollars. That is almost a 5th of a billion dollars. For Carson Wentz! Biggest financial bust, most overpaid in NFL history, maybe? I know it depends on what he does from this point on, but it I think the guy may be done, will be a backup maybe, and the most expensive ever...
-
I always was surprised and irritated when people were comparing Allen to Wentz, that Allen had that kind of potential during his first year. Yuck, as I saw a very tough, driven, and immensely talented quarterback and leader of men in Allen, and none of those things in Wentz. Wentz never seemed to be a great quarterback to me, never acted the part, and never seemed like a leader of men. Throw in his injuries, and the guy may go down as one of the biggest busts in NFL history, and one of the most overpaid, if not the most. 108 million dollars have been guaranteed to the guy! (And may be off by a few tens of millions here, too low?) Welcome to the Jacob Easton era for the Colts? If not this week, then soon, as we can be assured a man like Wentz will be injured again, soon. Reich managed extremely well with Wentz' backup in Philly, so I assume he will do the same now.
