  1. The problem you have with the line item veto is that you are now delegating the powers of Congress to the Executive branch. I personally like the line item veto, but you do have issues with its implimentation.
  2. Yeah, look at John Kerry and Iraq. Seriously, I look at the budget, the amendments to the budget and how people vote on said budget and the aforementioned amendments.
  3. Sorry, but I gotta call bull sh-- on that one. They have not even scratched the surface on cutting wasteful spending.
  4. Where is the love for Bill Frist? He flew down there and used his background to become a medical volunteer. Where is the love for him? He didn't just spend money, he donated his time, as a medical doctor, to help people In Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
  5. I see it as Tice or Sherman. My gut tells me Tice gone first, then Sherman. Both will not be cut before the end of the season, but expect both to be gone in January.
  6. 41 still alive? That is pretty good. You might have to wait until the bye week before you are safe.
  7. He is trying to rehab his image. He effed up pretty bad with this and if he can get people back quickly, then they might think that he is actually doing something. I would err with the side of Allen with this. While the efforts have been miraculous, it is still not at the point where people can be safe. Give it more time.
  8. Agreed. The coaches can only do so much. You need to rely on players to be professionals and to their jobs correctly. You can blame the coaches if you see the exact same problems happening from game to game (fumbles by the same person, etc). This is something that the coaches need to pay special attention to in practice. Otherwise, the players need to step up and perform.
  9. Troublemaker. BTW, you forgot the following references: -Tailgating -Customer Service -Baseball
  10. Talent evaluation also plays a part. You need to find people who can keep their heads in the game. They may not have the best technique, but if they play smart and concentrate, you will be in good shape. You also need a QB with pocket awareness. This subject is too complex to boil it down to one or two areas, IMO.
  11. Maybe DeeRay was counting using the VABills math: 16 years equals 2 decades.
  12. He was close on several occasions. He is a young kid. He is going to make mistakes. I want to see how he handles this loss and how he plays next week.
  13. It is a little of both. A coach can only take things so far. The players need to take it from there. You can drill discipline all you want, but if the player's mind is not in the game, you will see penalties. Both the coach and the player share responsibility for successes and failures.
  14. Watch out. He may jump up and punch you in the ankles.
  15. Do we need to use the OT icon when posting in this forum? It seems like it would be redundant.
  16. ...but providing solutions is hard.
  17. As I mentioned the last time this was posted, it is ridiculous that the photographer even wasted their time taking this photo, but what the hell makes this worthy of publication?
  18. Pour a bear over your head?
  19. John Kerry is recommending an independent investigation into this memo. Blue Ribbon Panel, anyone?
  20. Where is that FYOU smilie? If you are going to dump it to PPP, how about you merge all the posts together and close it first. We have enough Kartrina threads there for continued discussion, we do not need more.
  21. Holy hell!! The fact that someone wasted their time to take this photo is bad enough. To publish it is absolutely ridiculous. What the hell is so newsworthy about this?
  22. A good beer you let age, just like wine. As BillsFanNC mentioned, you will see the taste improve with age. Opening is the same as wine. You need to serve it at the right temperature (just like wine). You also use hourglass shaped glasses and keep the level below the middle of the glass. This helps to trap the aroma within the glass, instead of letting it escape like it would in a pilsner glass. Letting it sit will have an effect. As far as year to year, it depends on the ingredients used (just like wine). Bad ingredients will give you a bad beer. Quality beer is brewed to taste the same from year to year, but you will probably see subtle differences. A lot of that is more a function of conditions during brewing, fermenting, aging, transport and storage. The ingredients are controlled as best as possible. Basically, what I am saying is that it is very similar to wine. Whatever you do with wine, you can apply to beer.
  23. That is what everyone else is supposed to do. Why should they have to sacrifice anything? It kills me when environmentalists knock on my door looking to sign a petition or donate money to help the environment. They hop into their trendy SUV's and drive around from neighborhood to neighborhood looking for support. They try to hand me a plastic clipboard and a plastic pen. Neither are biodegradable. I start to rip them for their apparent lack of concern for the environment and they get all pissy with me. They seem to want everyone else to sacrifice and they are unwilling to make the same sacrifices.
  24. That is why I brew it myself. BTW, the Belgian trippel finally stopped fermenting (about 8 days). It will be tough to let that one sit and condition. I am really looking forward to drinking it. I want to get a winter ale done so that it will be perfect by Christmas time. I also want to do a Belgian wit in the near future. This should keep me stocked until the new year.
