  1. Bush Bad.
  2. A true budget surplus, not a phoney one. My goal is to pay down the debt. You can only accomplish this by having a true surplus. Unlike the current crop of politicians, I do not look at it as funny money. I have a separate program for Social Security.
  3. It is just Bush trying to silence her.
  4. Which is why you vote for KRC for President. Campaign promises: -I will not submit a budget unless it contains a surplus. -I will not sign a budget unless it is at least balanced. If someone wants their precious base, they need to cut something else from their side. It forces the politicians to prioritize. They only have a certain amount of money to play with. If you run out of money, oh well. Sucks to be you. You want that rain forest in Indiana? Fine. What else are you going to cut from your state to pay for it?
  5. I don't think that they have any of that running yet, but I am not sure. I am looking at it from strictly a cleanup state. They still have a lot of cleanup before it is environmentally safe for large numbers of people to return. Then, as you mentioned, the infrastructure. Fix things correctly and safely, then allow people to return.
  6. If we were talking a competent mayor, I would agree with you. While I agree that getting tax revenue would be important, I cannot imagine Nagin thinking that far ahead. He immediately blamed everyone but himself when the shiit hit the fan. As more information gets out, he is looking worse and worse. IMO, this was to be a PR move, nothing else. Now, he has another hurricane to possbily deal with. Stuff is not ready for people to move back.
  7. That is what happens when you think small. Think big and the problem is resolved. Like I said, start with cantelopes and work your way up.
  8. He also said 6 refs on the field. You came back with 7. If you want to play the semantic game, there is only 1 Referee. Again, you are wrong.
  9. 8 - Replay judge. You are both wrong.
  10. How about using various fruits to describe breasts: cantelopes, watermelons, etc. Is that OK?
  11. It's his board. He can say whatever he wants.
  12. I would give the direct link, but it is only for professional researchers (that, and a TOS violation).
  13. It's highly classified.
  14. Here you go...
  15. I would want to see if the company she is working for has job openings.
  16. I don't think so. I saw full nudes of her, and they look pretty real to me. Of course, I am more than willing to continue my research on this subject.
  17. Which is a step in the right direction.
  18. I'll cc you on the next memo.
  19. Your reference to Indiana implied that 3 hours took too long, ala Retatta.
  20. Actually, for baked beans, 3 hours is pretty quick. Usually, you bake them slowly, all day.
  21. Correct: Linky Thingy
  22. It has been up for a few minutes. Has anyone rated it a 3 yet?
  23. Because, you can make the argument that the President is now crafting legislation or controlling the budget. He has no authority to do either. The regular veto is just a yes or no as part of the checks and balances system. The line item veto goes beyond that and gives the president powers strictly delegated to the legislative branch. You are correct that Congress would never allow the line item veto and it is for the reasons mentioned. The President will be taking away the authority of the legislative branch.
