Read my quote again. "The last time the Bills opened up an offensive game script". meaning going into the game aggressive without game script dictating the play calls. Game script and being down 15, of course made the bills throw it all over the yard against the ravens
-
It's a fair rationale. I'm not saying you're wrong as you very well could be right. I think personally he just changed direction on the run. I guess unfortunately we probably will never know the actual answer
-
I think pretty objectively, it was a very conservative game plan as the bills were definitely trying to establish clock control. I am not saying all of it is Joe Brady's fault- Like on the 3rd and 6 screen to Kincaid, it looked like Josh definitely called an audible into that. The 2nd and 1 I've seen a few times myself . I'm pretty convinced that Josh checked to running to the left side, instead of running to the right. (I def could be wrong) Also, I don't really give Joe the benefit of the doubt on that one^, as he's notorious for running on 2nd and shorts

Oh for sure. Ya when I say I get frustrated with him, I don't mean nitpicking his play calls during the game. As to your point, every fan base will get frustrated with play calls. What I mean is just the overall philosophy. I think his offensive game plans are too conservative at times. Overall I think Joe Brady is good. But I am a bit concerned that his "tight to the chest" play calling will hurt them in a big game. (Kind of like the ravens game in the 1st half in week 1)

Two massive special teams errors in the 4th. Special teams coach is about to be fired tomorrow

Stroud sucksss

Ya I'm not sold on the colts yet. I'm just not sold on Houston at all. I think Jax or Indi will win the division

Houston's O line is horrible. They are in a bad division, I still don't think they make the playoffs this year

Any thoughts on Dorian Williams about to be starting again?
BillsFan130 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep. Bills injuries really aren't that bad relative to the rest of the league. Offence they are full healthy. This week they will probably be out two starters on defence. (I don't think Max would be starting over Tre yet so not considering him a starter) So two starters down really isn't that bad and is probably on par for the NFL . Miami has two starters down on their O line alone -

Just posted in the game day thread. I don't think this Miami matchup is good for Dorian. Miami likes to use a lot of misdirection which gives Dorian a lot of problems -
Game week thread - Dolphins at Bills TNF
BillsFan130 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't like Milano being out for this game as Dorian Williams really struggles with misdirection/eye candy. (Which Miami does a lot) But Bills are just a far superior team so shouldn't make too much of a difference -
Ya but jets gifted them how many points with dumb penalties on 3rd downs? 1st drive was a roughing the passer on a 3rd and 19. That is a 4-7 point penalty alone, depending if Prater makes the long kick

Ya for sure I'm not faulting how they played it in the 2nd half as I totally get being conservative with the score. My biggest issue was the offence in the first quarter or so. Thought they were too conservative once again and just looked off. The 403 yards and 30 points are a bit skewed mind you. When your defence is giving you 3 and outs all day long and a turnover on the 20 yard line, it's of course going to give the offence a ton of more chances to rack up yards and points.

Haha I'm not comparing Joe Brady to Ken Dorsey lol. Joe Brady overall is a pretty good OC and I've never said he's bad. But he can be extremely frustrating at times, and I think he leaves a lot of meat on the bone with this passing offence. Against the jets you can get away with it, but it took a superman performance from Josh last week to bail out his conservative play calling against Baltimore. The bills 20 pt victory had little to do with the offence yesterday, outside of a few incredible James cook runs. It was the defence who was dominant and stole the show
-
That comment frustrates me about Joe Brady. I always say the bills scheme offense like they are underdogs, and that comment by him kind of backs it up. Why are you going into the game trying to play clock control, run the ball, and shorten the game when you're a 7 point favourite.. That's what underdog teams try to do, and you have Josh Friggin Allen at QB on top of it

Go back to the Denver game from last years playoffs to now. (So 5 games in a row and even before that ) It has been very tight to the chest with a lot of running, short passes etc. The last time I feel like the bills really opened up an offensive game script, was the Lions game

Yep. I can at least understand that one though as Mahomes is one of the stars of the league, and New York is a massive market -
Those are fair points, but I also think we have seen a pretty big sample size from Joe Brady (and McDermott) that this is who the bills want to be. They want a slug fest and they want to be a very balanced run/pass team
