With Boldin leaving and Streater's status up in the air, I think he has a spot on the roster.

I think they value Shady higher than they valued Sammy. I guess technically that's more than we got for Sammy, but I think they would look for more. Again, I don't think they are trying to tank the season and Shady IS the offense. They would need an offer they really couldn't refuse.

Although it looks like Winston and Mariota are on the rise, if you look at the NFL top 100 players list, here are the QBs that make the top 30 players: Tom Brady Aaron Rodgers Matt Ryan David Carr Dak Prescott Drew Brees Ben Roethlisberger Russell Wilson ONE of these QBs was taken in the top 10 But, I still don't think we are tanking... yet.

I still don't think we are going to dish Shady. The defense looks ready and we just need the run game to be there and we will be competitive.

Not sure they would dish him for a 6th or 7th. If they would, then absolutely. I think Beane would be wise to inquire.

Everyone's life takes a different path and everyone contributes to society in their own way. These guys were born with physical gifts and they are using them in such a way that society does benefit. America LOVES sports. And they are sacrificing their bodies in a very real way in the NFL. Now, it is entertainment and I'm not trying to compare what they do to any other profession, but if society didn't value what they do, they wouldn't be paid what they are. And, a lot of these athletes, including those protesting, donate a lot of time and money to charity, which should not be discounted.

He had a good year in 2015. Wondering if he is still recovering some. Even if his leg is full healed, he may still need time to acclimate once again to playing on it. I think Groy is the heir apparent to Wood. Not sure he assumes the starter role (barring injury) this year, but next year I think he's the starting OC.

At this point it's more tradition than anything. But if Metallica can perform their own interpretation of the anthem, then players can listen to the anthem however they want. Standing, sitting, I don't care. I would wager for many performers it's feigned patrioticism for more publicity. Hell, even half the audience doesn't really care about the anthem. Look around. People talking, getting concessions, etc. Meanwhile at international soccer events I see other countries belt their anthems with far more passion. It's fine to have the anthem before the game as tradition, but it's overuse has undoubtedly marginalized its sanctity. For all the fuss we give players sitting or taking a knee, I think we should note that they are still silent and respectful of those who do take the anthem seriously.

And we shouldn't. It would be a waste.

That's crazy if true.

He was an OL coach in Philly for a really long time (13 years, I think?) and then for some bizarre reason he was made DC after McD's firing, which unsurprisingly did not work. I'm not arguing that Castillo isn't a good OL coach. It's just that the OL was a strength with Kromer and if are keeping any of our past coaches why is it Crossman and not Kromer?

Missed the game tonight but skimming through the game thread I see a lot of Ducasse rage and no mention of Miller. Did Miller play? With the first team? I am a little worried that Castillo likes Ducasse and we are going to have some sort of Colin Brown situation on our hands again.

I am kidding around. Of course if the player looks good let's keep him. Now if Ducasse and Holmes would help us out a little...
