  1. They chose to re-sign Groy too. And it's still really early in their tenure so we don't really know who we have under contract right now that they want to keep around. They clearly value leader veterans. I think with some of the young talent they are trying to mold the roster to their vision and not overpay guys who are merely average. They aren't always gonna get it right, I would have liked to keep Gillislee, but J Will is looking solid so maybe it wasn't a bad ove. Zach Brown wanted more money than he was worth and Woods got a fat contract from LA that we should all find questionable. I think it's good to see them dealing young talent they don't want for something instead of letting the season play out only to watch them go bye-bye.
  2. Extending your own players is different than splash FA signings. Heck, they even overpaid Eric Wood for some reason and that's not a guy they drafted. Hard to really know their vision until we see more of it unfold. I imagine they want to build through the draft, keep their best guys and supplement with free agents that fill needs without breaking the bank. If Preston does his job well, he will get an offer from us. If he wants to try for more money in the offseason, we will let him do so.
  3. Can it not be a reasonable deal? ILB contracts aren't too pricey right now. Preston will likely never be a superstar, but he could be on that second tier of reliable, above-average starters.
  4. Preston has been good in preseason. Wouldn't be surprised to see them lock him up if the play continues into the regular season. Rex handled him poorly, I think, and I'm glad to see him elevate his game again.
  5. Too bad Ragland didn't have a strong first half of his rookie season so we could trade him for another superstar skill position player.
  6. Ragland didn't look that bad to me in preseason. A few TFL's, maybe a little slow but a lot of us figured he was still trying to get back into football shape. Maybe the staff feels like he's fully recovered and nothing more than a run thumper. Bryce Brown had those two really good games in Philly though!
  7. Hey weren't we supposed to get Alex Smith for him!?!?
  8. I think there are more locks than you. Tight end position is settled with Logan Thomas, plus Seymour and Washington are locks. Additionally, I don't think we carry any more running backs unless it's for special teams.
  9. I think that's unquestionable. Too bad the Niners gave him a starting gig.
  10. For sure. Still a useful tool for an offense.
  11. He will get hurt by midseason don't worry.
  12. He lost some muscle the past couple years, presumably due to his vegan diet. The fast ball isn't as fast, among other things.
  13. It was. He was a better player three or four years ago than he is now.
  14. Goodwin looking pretty good in SF.
  15. Would say no, but if we were in a dire situation where TT wasn't ready for week one, I would rather take a shot with Kap than Yates or most other options. I'd take Hill over him but can't really think of any others.
  16. The message must be that they reward players that buy in and show leadership.
  17. For what it's worth, PFF gave Dawkins an 82,saying he didn't allow a single pressure: https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-refocused-baltimore-ravens-13-buffalo-bills-9
  18. He was hurt this past week wasn't he? Probably just resting him.
  19. At this point it's unquestionable. I expect Yates out unless TT's concussion is going to keep him out multiple weeks.
  20. I mean, he's had a lot more opportunities to do so.
  21. Peterman making some excellent throws, some off target. Seems decisive.
