  1. I'm with you....I feel like Charlie Brown and Lucy just yanked the football out and I fell flat on my face.
  2. During the second half meltdown of Tyrod, I made up my mind to support your opinion in whatever thread you started, Tyrod can't throw accurately. On a couple of terrible passes toward Sammy, you can see the same summation in Watkins body language. I also agree with your point to bring in two rookies and see what their upside might be. Of course, if somehow a QB became available in trade or FA I would support going in that direction as well, I also will support donations to my drinking funds if the bills bring Tyrod back on his contract. I will need financial and alcohol support to watch another year of that. I Hate it that he can't throw accurately, because he seems like a high character, great intangibles kind of guy that would make a good leader.
  3. Kevin Seymour made me want to see 5 more years of Gilmore holding the opposing WR's
  4. Great post....thanks for taking the time to do it. In regards to your 2nd point, I was thinking the exact same thing after the game. The Bills offense scores points, and Tyrod deserves credit for his role in that. This does not mean he doesn't have flaws or should not be criticized for areas of his game that need to get better. This offense is functioning pretty well, and Anthony Lynn (OC) has done a heck of a job squeezing points out of this lineup. An additional observation: the offensive coaching staff did a tremendous job of making adjustments at half time. There were many seasons where the Bills seemed to be unable to make in game adjustments....today they were the better coaching staff.
  5. For most of that half the O-Line looked like they all took Eric Wood's Thansgiving Day Weight challenge too seriously.
  6. Thanks to OP for this topic. I never would have guessed that the Bills were top 10 in scoring since 2015. The Chiefs record when scoring 25+ points vs the Bills record when scoring 25+ points is also indicative of where the team is. Frankly, when Rex was hired, with the defense he inherited, if anyone would have said the Bills would be too,10 in points scored during his tenure.... I would have assumed the Bills to be a playoff team.
  7. Thought we needed a victory thread! The Bills showed great grit today winning a road game without: 1. Their # 1 WR 2. Their starting Center 3. Their starting safety....before today the secondary was horrific in his absence 4. Their starting RB, and best overall offensive player, missing half the game 5. Their #2 WR, who has been elevated to # 1, missing 3/4 of the game This is a cause for celebration! 1. Kyle "The Player" Williams turns in a defensive effort and game for the ages. 2. Gilmore responded to Rex's public frustrations with the best game of his season. 3. The defense puts up a second half shut out to preserve the victory. 4. Gillislee looked great at RB 5. Incognito is a beast out there. 6. Zach Brown continues to shine The Bills had more reasons to lose this game, than they had reasons to win the game. Yet, they won it! They are far from a perfect team, might be far from a good team.....but today they were the better team. So eat, drink, and be merry for "tomorrow" the Bills may lose, but today they are victorious.
  8. Looks like he is coming back from a knee injury not a shoulder injury. If this is as quick as he will ever be, he won't be quick enough for the NFL. Maybe it is an issue of "thinking" not reacting and playing as he did miss an enormous amount of practice with the injury.
  9. More good insight into why people disliked him (beyond play on the field). Thanks
  10. Good call Beef Jerky. Guys like Jim Leonhard were vital cogs in a Rex Ryan defense. From the outside looking in, a safety who can translate and communicate the defensive calls on the field is a vital piece of this defense. It appears that AW was that guy.
  11. Raleigh, NC......it's like a second home for former WNYers, former Ohioans, former Michiganers, and Pennsylvanians.
  12. Interesting insight..,,thanks! That was another great show.... Forgot about that one too At that time, this was how the available media described Flutie to those of us outside WNY
  13. I recall every thing you stated about the game play and who started when. What I didn't know was the tone of Flutie's comments when he lost the starting job, and that there was a divided locker room over the Flutie vs RJ situation.
  14. The technology now vs then and how it impacts information flow is as much a part of the topic as Flutie. So far we seem to be in agreement that he came off as a good guy, good teammate, and good QB from our vantage points at the time. And SHOUT magazine and the USA today were gold!!
  15. I forgot about the USA today NFL "round up"! We were in an information desert back then compared to now.
  16. In 1997 I moved out of WNY and to NC. Technology being what it was at that time my Bills updates were limited to the following: 1). Phone calls to my Dad 2)occasional AM talk radio on a favorable weather night 3) ESPN 4). The print version of the Bills Digest....which always arrived to NC two weeks late! In short, my access to Bills info was severely limited during Flutie's career in Buffalo. The good news was that I could find Bills games on TV during that time and watch games. The Bills signed Flutie in January of 1998. In the 1999 season he was 10-5 as a starter. He played some decent football and was part of a winning team. He wasn't a QB to build around long term, but he played well enough for a while. From down in NC it seemed like a great story, and a nice way for Flutie to "finish" his NFL career (I know he played some in NFL after the Bills). Like I stated, great story, decent QB, not the long term answer. Fast forwardseveral years to the Internet, TBD, and the stadium wall. Over the years, I have seen lots of negative comments attributed to Flutie on this board. So I ask, what did I miss during his time in Buffalo that has people hating him some much? Was he a jack ass around town? In the Locker Room? Was he too short? Did he piss in someone's Flutie Flakes? Just looking for some local Intel on this subject, maybe folks could help fill me in. Granted, it was more than 15 years ago, so I appreciate memories may be a bit hazy.
  17. Interesting idea. That would be a tremendous upgrade to the television experience (and in stadium experience!)
  18. He has the physical size and arm strength that was worth drafting and developing. Perfect year to practice, sit in on QB film study, learn the game. Hope to not see him on the field a single time this year. If he develops into a quality QB down the line, it will be fantastic! If he never makes it, no big loss.
  19. Jerry as GM would not have survived as long as he did without being fired, if it wasn't for Jerry the owner.
  20. It's perfectly normal for those of us who would have lost our jobs, lost our professional licenses, and/ or lost our businesses if we behaved like MD, to be frustrated and angry at watching someone who has All-Pro talent hurt himself and the Bills Team with his life choices off the field. It's hard to watch enormous potential go unfulfilled, and watch it unfold in front of our eyes.
  21. The fans at Met Life (I have been to games there) are a kind and gentle bunch by comparison.
