  1. 1. Established QB or running game. Nope. But both look to be a bit better than last year, when the team won 6 games. 2. Offensive line not made out of spare parts. Again, not really. But the young interior guys have another year of experience. Wood and Bell are back, and they have added some depth (not much). In any case, they are not worse here than they were last year, when they won 6 games. 3. Offensive and/or defensive systems already in place. Well, they are in place, but w/o much experience so I get your point. This can only be a positive for the offense (IMO) but it may impact the D negatively in the short term. 4. Defenses that aren't ranked 32nd against the run. True. This could be another tough year against the run. Troup should help a bit, though. A FAIR evaluator would also note how well the D fared against the pass, and their turnover prowess. You aren't a fair evaluator though, are you? 5. Legitimate receiving options beyond 1st WR (Lee Evans). I'd say Spiller will be a legit receiving option out of the backfield. but I get your point. The #2 WR will have to step up. Who will it be?
  2. Well, they aren't required for chess. But they are a nice touch.
  3. When "the company" pays you the kind of money these guys make, and when your career is as short as it is in the NFL, towing the company line might be the wise decision. Just sayin'.
  4. If I were either of those fans, I'd try a new and realistic approach. JMO
  5. Listen to Buffalo radio. They mercilessly bash the Bills, too.
  6. Agreed. I think it might be nice to give an update to dispel drug rumors. But there are reasons teams don't want to release any info. Once you make this comment (to help out Nelson) then you are expected to comment in every case, or you are damning by silence. The team's position (and most teams' position) is to stay silent on the infraction.
  7. Me too. But he tells that same joke all the time. At what point does it stop being funny?
  8. Thank you, Mr. Osama Beer.
  9. What was your prediction for last year? So if they win, say even 5 or 6 games, I expect you to come back and admit you completely underestimated the team and take your deserved hits. 3 games? That's as bad as The Senator predicting 19-0. Just as idiotic, IMO.
  10. Kicked off a bunch of forums and now you're here? That doesn't surprise me at all. You know, or you should, that every great player and every coach worth his title pays attention to the competition. Even the best make sure they know the strengths and weaknesses of their opponents. If they don't, they aren't likely to play or coach for long. Fans do the same thing. The good ones pay attention to it all. Obviously you aren't one of them. I totally believe that. Now, nowhere here, except for your belligerent posts, has anyone discussed "worrying". That's the BS you brought to the thread. I suggest you take it elsewhere.
  11. Congrats, Mike! Holy crap there are new Bills fans popping up all over the place.
  12. I'm hoping he played chess there. No?
  13. Bill this Dre character is simply one of the recent posters who are here simply to make trouble. I think he'll be gone in a week.
  14. Worry? Who was worrying in this thread? Did Kelly say he was worried? Only you seem worried about intelligent discussion of the opposition. As for your questions: Did I can about who Bruce Smith or Andre Reed was playing? Of course. I'm not a moron. Do the Steeler fans worry about their defense facing the Colts? Only a stupid fan wouldn't care about it. As for worrying, well everyone worries when they face Peyton Manning.
  15. What in hell are you talking about? You don't pay ANY attention to your competition? You approach situations ignorantly and oblivious to the changing landscape? Puhleeze. Talking about what is going on with the competition is ESSENTIAL, IMO.
  16. I think the biggest issue here is, you think of a late round pick that doesn't make the team, as a "wasted pick". Late round picks are usually long-shots to make the team, but you pick a guy who looks like he might be able to compete, sometimes at a position of need. You might get him UDFA, but if you really want to give him a shot, you use the 7th pick. I would argue Brown was nowhere near a wasted pick. His performance was good enough to get praised from the HC and build a base of supporters among Bills fans. Obviously he performed at a level that was good for his draft position. I'd also argue that performance helped the overall level of competition a the QB spot. Fitz and Brohm maybe had to dig a little deeper, do a little more, in order to secure their roster position. That's not a waste of a draft pick. That's the purpose of a 7th round QB draft pick.
  17. He's no blobfish. But he'll do (the tongue thingy is pretty creepy). Blobfish:
  18. That's the answer. Both are young QBs and Brohm looked much better, with a bigger upside, than Brohm during preseason. I think it was the perfect storm that kept Brown off the team and PS. Trent performed much better than expected. Fitz, the backup with a lot of experience, doesn't look quite right on the field but gets the job done. And Brohm is the young guy bucking to be the next starting QB. If you're looking for three guys, you bring in four or more. Brown was NECESSARY by that standard. He performed decently, just not good enough.
  19. I really don't care if he is, or isn't a former Bill. He was a damn good poster and I'd welcome his return at any time. I think you may see him post from time-to-time (it's unfortunate he said he would completely stop, that might hold him back a bit). He said he would still visit, and he has logged on. Many of us take sabbaticals from The Wall. Let's hope Die Hard finds his way back to posting one day.
  20. So, you're saying that I win?
  21. Word is it might not be there because of Google's B-day, but instead may be related to something being announced tomorrow. From Naker's link: Google is like an old girlfriend of mine. Simple, good looking and always with the drama. I should just KNOW what it's about?
  22. OK, it's Google's Birthday! Google's official birthday is September 7, 1998.
  23. I'm going to guess SDS went to bed. Like you said, no biggie. This can wait until morning or whenever.
