  1. Looks like my response to yours, and another, are gone too. I don't get it, either.
  2. Very good. But someone already mentioned it: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/123906-lets-talk-bourbon/page__view__findpost__p__2046854 I was at the very local liquor store today, and there were no good sales on anything interesting. So because I am very broke, I picked up a bottle of Ezra Brooks 90 proof (1.75, $19.99). I tell you, it's tasty stuff for "everyday bourbon". Also noticed Evan Williams Black is now 86 proof. I wonder when that happened? I guess it's been a while since I last bought it.
  3. Let me double that:
  4. Yes, that's what I meant by "size of the grill". It seems like that's the only difference. Obviously the larger one would hold more stuff. But if they have the same heating element, the smaller one might cook a bit better. Also, it might be easier to clean in a sink or dishwasher.
  5. Great run for a TD, I'll tell you that. And one real nice pass to the sidline. The dropped pass in the end zone was thrown to the opposite corner, but I can't believe it was on purpose. If it was, it was a very bad decision. It should have been caught, but it wasn't a good throw considering the position of the DBs.
  6. I live in the south, but unfortunately our condo complex doesn't allow grilling. I think I am going to get a Foreman indoor-outdoor electric grill and see how it is. Other than the size of the grill, I can't tell if there is any difference between these two models (other than price, of course): http://www.georgeforemancooking.com/p-22-indooroutdoor-domed-grill.aspx http://www.georgeforemancooking.com/p-20-indooroutdoor-electric-dome-grill.aspx
  7. You aren't Italian, are you? Good luck, my friend. I hope you find what you're looking for, irrespective of whether you it for the entire year.
  8. Here's a piece about airport theft, focusing on the TSA actually. It is a couple of years old. http://current.newsweek.com/budgettravel/2008/05/items_stolen_from_checked_bags.html
  9. Up until now, I always thought of you as a rather intelligent person. Will this impact your choice of beverages? Will you be going alcohol-free or are you developing some lentil-based intoxicant? Well, as much as completely hate this idea (for so many reasons), at least it will keep you off the crayons.
  10. I disagree. I think the Bills were clearly the better team and controlled the game for 3+ quarters.
  11. While I will decant a very big tight red wine (like an Amarone for example), I actually like the "mouth to mouth" method of letting my wines breathe. I will open a bottle and pour a bit in a couple of glasses (this increases the surface area...in the glasses and the bottle) and sip it while it is still tight. Then I get to taste how the wine changes as it breathes. Sometimes, I even prefer the taste of the wine before it has had a chance to breathe. Even when that isn't the case, I find the changes flavorful and interesting. To the point of your question, you might like this piece. http://www.norcalwine.com/index.php/blog/51-general-interest/157-do-wine-aerators-work-a-are-they-worth-the-money The author does a little experiment (fairly poorly constructed, but interesting nonetheless) testing different wines and different methods of aeration.
  12. Worst journalistic expression ever. Cosell should have been publicly flogged for saying that. A person can "call em as they see em" or "pull no punches". Nobody can "tell it like it is", just the way they think it is. And since Sully is not a particularly knowledgeable football analyst, it's always a crap-shoot if his opinions have any connection to "the truth". Add to that his obvious intention to be controversial and you can't even be sure he "calls em as he sees em".
  13. Williams was a 5th round pick.
  14. He is good at his job, if you define his job as "attracting an audience". Actually I should say he might be good at his job under that definition. I haven't seen any readership data from the Snooze in years. I'd guess his column is highly read among readers of the Snooze's sports page. I would also guess more people watch Kilgore in one night than read Sully in a month. (That might have changed a bit since I stopped looking at local data.) It's unfortunate the mind-set of sports talk radio (all controversy all the time!) has moved to newspapers. Apparently pin-headed consumers can't deal with honest and balanced analysis and discussion. It's too "boring".
  15. Not quite sure what your point is here. Brown and Sullivan have completely different jobs/roles. Brown works for the Bills. You won't see him dish out much criticism. But he is does supply a Bills fan with a ton of information, especially during training camp and the off season. Sullivan is a columnist. He provides virtually NO information about the Bills. How much new have you ever discovered from a Sully piece? His job is analysis and commentary. Brown is far better at being the company flack than Sully is at being an insightful analyst.
  16. Some of you seem to think Jerry is "bad" when he writes a negative piece and "good" when he is positive. Or, you think that's the position of the Sullivan detractors. Let me be clear about this. Sullivan sucks when he writes about football. It doesn't matter if he is positive or negative, or if he gets lucky and makes a good point. He simply doesn't seem to enjoy or understand the game well enough to write intelligently about it on a regular basis.
  17. That's back to my original point. Promo seems to assume Ralph plays a major role in the early draft picks. Many blame Modrak, although common wisdom would lead us to believe he is more responsible for the later picks (which have been quite good). Some others blame every person in the front office. They blame the GM and when he leaves, they blame the HC that was there, and then they blame Overdorf and Littman...etc. We will probably really never know how this FO makes its draft selections. And I'm not sure we have any right to know. It just helps us assign blame and credit.
  18. I am not a Tebow hater. I think he is a very talented football player. I also think he is a huge project as an NFL QB. He might end up being a quality full-time starter at the position, but I wouldn't count on it. I think the Bills are better off without him. But I don't think his Christianity helps or hurts him with the rest of the team. There are plenty of Christians in the NFL. Unless he constantly preaches to them, he will be fine.
  19. Ralph said the drafting was bad, but never owned up to being the guy that influences the early picks.
  20. HE lost? Did he play all the positions, or just all of the offensive positions?
  21. The basic common wisdom is the Head Pro Scout probably as more say in the later rounds (and signing UDFAs) than he does in the early rounds. If that is true, is Modrak as bad as many here say? Now, with the Bills it is hard to know who makes the calls and who pushed for what player, so the common wisdom may not hold true in this case.
  22. Are you that obtuse? Lee gets double coverage on virtually every pass play, not just when he is the only WR running a pattern.
  23. Apparently, Tebow and Nelson roomed together for a while in College. Around here, they say Nelson was one of Tebow's favorite WRs. Obviously he didn't throw the ball to him all that often, but supposedly he thought he was one of the most reliable targets he had if he was in trouble. I'm just repeating the local take on him from all of the Florida fans here. (And of course, Tebow played HS ball in St Augustine.)
  24.
  25. All the best for the new year, Mrs. B.
