  1. Kim Pegula to The Trust: "Here's your motherf#$king bid, as#holes!" Now that's an aggressive bid!
  2. While I think it has more to do with making the agenda of the October owners' meeting, it is a pretty fortuitous date. Again, I'll be surprised if a bow is put on this thing before the end of the week. But I will no longer be "Shocked". It does seem as though they are really trying to move fast at this point. I'm simply not used to it being this late into the day without a cocktail. I better take care of that now.
  3. I think Roger has probably botched a few of these decisions, but no decision would make everyone happy. As much as we think we'd love his job, it's fairly thankless if you care about fan reaction. All in all, I'd say he is doing a decent job. From what I hear, the NFL bought the bill of goods they were sold: His wife said she provoked him, and possibly said she hit him first. Perhaps he presented the knockout blow as a defensive move that ended up being too strong---a mistake of sorts. The video blows that story out of the water.
  4. Overreactors? On this forum? Really?
  5. D'Oh! Of course I know that. Of course.
  6. Well, actually $300 million is 30% of $900 million.
  7. Well you can choose to be irked if you like. Me, I don't think it is irksome at all, since I'm not confused by this at all. Just because the wording of the Trust isn't public doesn't mean the directive isn't there. The Trust has already demonstrated, to my satisfaction, they are operating with the interests of Buffalo in mind. But go ahead and worry, if that makes you happy.
  8. That's the speculation. Though nobody really knows what JBJ's true net worth. That's what Forbe's reports, but it doesn't make it so. Still it's hard to believe than can go toe-to-toe with Pegs. Bad rumor, it seems. Why do you believe this? The Trust is clearly operating to keep the team in Buffalo., That's been obvious from the start. Since the terms of the Trust are private, we don't know the exact wording, or if Ralph simply gave instructions to Mary/Russ/Whomever. If there were no directive of any sort to make sure the team stays in Buffalo, there would likely be more bidders for the team. As far as I know, none of the bidders lives in Buffalo, if that's what you mean.
  9. What doesn't jive? A source saying the TO group is confident? Now if the report said a reputable source said the TO group bid was likely to win---THAT would not jive with what we know. For what it's worth, if the TO group is "quietly confident" then I assume they have provided a rock solid commitment to keep the Bills in Buffalo. I still don't think they have a chance, even with that commitment.
  10. Renders just fine in Chrome for me. Check your extensions and plugins. perhaps there is an issue there. I've had a hell of a time getting rid of Superfish adware in my chrome browser. Seems an extension I have been using for awhile had been updated and now included Superfish, Finally think I found it, but not sure.
  11. You might be right about this, but I don't get the vibe that too many in the mainstream sports media actually WANT the Bills to move. What I think we are getting from them is the desire to have an interesting storyline. They thrive on controversy---real or otherwise. The actual story of this sale is fairly boring.
  12. You got it. Most all of the DBs get plenty of work. Too much concern about the "starter" I never quite got. But since Gillmore might not be 100% yet (and I'd rather he not have this nagging injury all year), I'm very glad we have Graham. BTW, do we have a Rivers injury update yet?
  13. Graham might start instead of Gilmore, opposite McKelvin. I believe Leodis had a pretty good game, overall yesterday. And Gillmore has looked a bit spotty in preseason. Then again, everyone looked a bit spotty in preseason. They will all get plenty of playing time. Whatever the best configuration turns out to be, that's the one I like. Whether it is Leodis, Graham or someone else in the slot.
  14. I can't believe the NFL and/or the Ravens didn't see that video, or know it existed. I suppose it is possible. Perhaps it is as you suspect--they new the video existed but purposefully didn't obtain it. The suspension could have come with a warning that the video never see the light of day. I mean how embarrassing would it be to the NFL and the Ravens should that video get leaked? I guess we know the answer to that. Goodell should have taken a play from the Pat* cheating scandal and burned all the evidence.
  15. Ger er done, Doug.
  16. Well, that and a rock solid commitment to keep the team in Buffalo.
  17. Then again, his lone pass in OT was a clutch 20-yard strike to Williams. Combined with the 2nd half, the disparity pretty much disappears. I don't think the Bears D "turned off a hot QB". He was pretty warm, but not red hot, most of the game.
  18. BTW, any update on Rivers' injury?
  19. The Easley hit was perfectly timed and a thing of beauty. I couldn't help from laughing when it happened. A guy sitting next to me asked "what's so funny?" I figured it was going to take to long to explain many fans/bloggers have him on the bubble to make the team every year. So I just shook my head and said, "nothing". I'd love to see if he could kick off.
  20. If the defense could only figure out how to defend the screen pass. Perhaps they don't get to defend it in practice because the offense doesn't seem to know how to effectively run one,
  21. Paying any amount is too much for all you can eat at Olive Garden. It's simple. I can't eat anything at that sh#thole. Fake Italian food, packed with sugar and frozen, to make sure the meal is as crappy in California as it is in New York! Gotta love consistency. St Augustine has a dearth of decent Italian restaurants. Carrabba's may as good as any here. And while I'm not suggesting Carrabba's is a high-level Italian restaurant, I can eat there and be reasonably sure to find something that isn't too bad. Good thing I don't have to go to restaurants for good Italian food.
  22. Shouldn't Weo or Dawgg or some other perennial Belicheat ball washer have posted some defense yet? Well then, just for Karma's sake, I probably should say, remember it's week one. But it feels pretty damn good, doesn't it? Sat next to, and was served by, pretty cool Fin fans. Next week they will be my enemy,
  23. I crossed out my L and changed it to a W. For now, that's it. For now...
  24. All good posts/points IMO. Might be too early to tell with Schmidt, but he had a good preseason and impressed the hell out of me today, But, as The Wolf might say, "let's not starting each others #### quite yet." But this is the best I've felt ,about the long term potential, after a game in quite awhile. The pieces seem to have been put together fairly well.
  25. I'll be shocked (pleasantly of course) if we actually know anything by the end of the week. But, really, I will be thrilled to be wrong on this one.
