  1. Still pushing that strange interpretation of the story, without even presenting what had been said. The reality seems to be the main argument was with Whaley, and Brandon interceded. But why present any contradictory interpretation, right? Sounds like an agenda to me. Didn't Kelly already straighten you out on this?
  2. Welcome! Love the enthusiasm.

  4. All if a sudden, it's funny again.
  5. Whatever. If there is ever a team in TO it should be an NFC team, Toronto is too close to bring in an expansion rivalry at this point. IMO, of course. Either way I don't want the division realigned . The rivalries still mean something to me. Seems the younger you are, the less they mean.
  6. I will say this. And I know it will be unpopular with some. But I think this is a great location for us fans, coming from all over. There are so many different routes, the traffic tends to be fairly light---unless you come right before game time, or leave immediately after--and even then it isn't as bad as many stadiums. I'm not saying that is where the new stadium should be built. I'm just saying it has been relatively convenient.
  7. I'm not one to believe in jinxes, but perhaps this topic is best left unspoken. Shhhh
  8. Ah, Neil Armstrong. Hell of a right fielder, good bat, good speed, terrific arm. Wait. What? I tell you what. If the Bills don't show up and play their butts off this week, I better not hear anyone associated with the club talk about a "letdown"? (I'm too much of a realist to expect that from the fans, though.) There is NO excuse this week for that. The Bills have everything going for them. They are even getting, arguably, healthier. I expect big tings this week.
  9. While I don't go to Olive Garden, if there is a bar to sit at and eat (or not), I'm sitting at it. Most of my friends agree. But I have a couple of guys who claim to be "bar guys" who always opt for a table---then make some reason why a table is better "this time". Well there's three of us so someone gets left out of the conversation. (Really? Do you think any of us doesn't know how to have a multi-person conversation at the bar? Been doing it all my life.) And another thing.... Wait how did I get off on this tangent?
  10. You can't get there from there.
  11. While I'm not going to dispute your feelings on France, as mine are close to similar. I don't quite get the France is a shoe-in thing. But it's possible I suppose. Let's just say I'm not holding my breath waiting for the appointment. But with regarded to the bolded part, I will say this. Having been mostly a client in my corporate TV days, I have become friends with many suppliers (people who were trying to sell me things) a the rep level, management level and up to CEO level.* It is easy to believe they might cozy up to a customer, but many of these friendships have survived long past any business relationships. I can't say if that is unusual. Edit: * I should have added "and seek advice (mutually) from each other. Isn't pretty much every owner in a position where they are "ill-equipped" for many of the areas they are responsible for---especially the football decisions? Like most every CEO in most every company of any sufficient size? My understanding is, Brandon was pretty much filling the position of Ralph, along with his own responsibilities. And I believe, as long as he was mentally competent (and maybe a bit beyond), Ralph probably was more involved in football decisions than Brandon. While, compared to many other NFL owners over the years, Raph was fairly hands-off, he certainly wasn't shy to be the boss when he felt strongly about something. He'd usually let his people make the decision---but they knew how the boss felt. I doubt Brandon had THAT kind of influence.
  12. I almost posted the same video.
  13. There are people who STILL believe that? That's just crazy. Where have they been?
  14. I actually prefer, at this stage, when nobody picks us to win.
  15. What in God's name are you talking about?
  16. We had a bit of this discussion some time ago, I think. Pegula has to divest of Five Star, I believe. So a good early step will be selling the agency. As for France, I also questioned why anyone thought he would be brought in to be a GM or help pick one. That doesn't necessarily fit together for me. With that said, I really don't know his specific knowledge base or skill set. Perhaps he is suited for something in the front office. Can't say he isn't, based simply on what we know he has done. He might have some value to the team as a negotiator or consultant to Pegula (if Pegula respects his analysis and judgement). But I imagine he has some better options if he is as good as the OP believes.
  17. Rear-Smegma ended up being a pretty crappy TE, Early in his career he was OK, but he really declined over the years. I believe Chandler is better at this stage.
  18. The OP seriously thought he was the first one to notice this, on Tuesday evening? I did a seach of the board to make sure it was easy to find. No problem, Very easy.. Oh. and In, clearly.
  19. Since I'm not a season ticket holder (tough to be one in Florida with my income), but I would think we might want to give them as many preseason games as they can take.
  20. I'm not worried, Kirby,. Sorry if I gave that impression, But in the past, when owners have been rejected, have the names of the owners voting against been released? Similarly in those of approval, do we know who voted against the owner? This is a real question, as I don't recall the answer. Did anyone vote against Shad Kahn? I don't recall anything being reported.
  21. I'll stop pressing this point after this post. Do you remember coverage of the Miami sale, prior to the announcement? I don't. In fact, I remember no coverage of most any NFL sale until the announcement. And then, yes, it has been a bit more than this--but because of the press conferences, etc. This is one of the few publicly discussed sales, while in process, of an NFL team in quite a while, I think.
  22. I believe that is exactly what I am saying. but I;m trying to make a larger point. Being bought by "a celebrity" really isn't a story by any journalistic standard. But it would be reported differently and far more aggressively, with or without press conferences. Once it is official, and Pegula starts actually speaking to the press (if he even decides to do much) it will be old news,. I predicts this will never be a big story. Pegula buying the Sabres is a completely different, as nobody even knew about it until it became official (at least that is my recollection). This has been publicly discussed and followed from the beginning. . Hell, the first story about Trump bidding and a few about JBJ got more national press than the actual sale. But once again, I'm trying to point out, it's a good thing. A big story only happens when it is bad news, or if a "celebrity" buys the team.
  23. As long as he gets approved, do they even release the vote by owner name? Do they even say if anyone voted against him if he is approved?
