  1. US deaths during coronavirus outbreak period were 179K higher than usual: report That number is 45,000 higher than the confirmed coronavirus death count for that period The New York Times analyzed estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and determined that more than 179,500 people have died than usual from March 15 to July 11. Excess deaths are the difference between observed numbers of deaths and expected numbers, according to the CDC. While most of the excess deaths were likely due to the coronavirus, rising fatalities from other causes may also be playing a part, according to the report. Hospitals have been overwhelmed in certain hot spots and some people may be fearful to seek help with certain ailments separate from COVID-19. https://www.foxnews.com/health/us-deaths-during-coronavirus-outbreak-period-were-179k-higher-usual-report

And, Damion mentioned: 'I'm going fishing with Kevin.' So, he told his brother Robert, 'follow him to the lake.' When he got there, he took his gun out and murdered all three of the people," the sheriff added. https://www.foxnews.com/media/grady-judd-florida-triple-murder-ringleader-fishing-buddies-suspect
  3. NFL owner and Trump ambassador to UK sparks watchdog inquiry over allegations of racist and sexist remarks and push to promote Trump business Another source recounted that after Johnson returned from a trip to Washington where he met with the President in early 2018, the ambassador told Lukens, who was still deputy chief of mission at that time, that Trump wanted to host The Open at his Turnberry resort in Scotland. Johnson asked which British government officials he could speak to about making that happen, the source said. Johnson brought it up again with Lukens on another occasion not long after, the source noted, and in both cases Lukens told Johnson not to mention the topic to government officials, as doing so would be unethical. The New York Times was the first to report on Johnson's push to hold The Open at Turnberry. https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/22/politics/woody-johnson-oig-report/index.html Jets owner under investigation for racism, sexism etc as US Ambassador to UK By YoloinOhio, 1 hour ago in The Stadium Wall https://www.twobillsdrive.com/community/topic/225737-jets-owner-under-investigation-for-racism-sexism-etc-as-us-ambassador-to-uk/

China threatens retaliation after US orders closure of Houston consulate China on Wednesday condemned what it called an “unprecedented escalation" by the United States and threatened to retaliate after it was ordered to close the Chinese consulate in Houston. The U.S. "will not tolerate the PRC’s violations of our sovereignty and intimidation of our people, just as we have not tolerated the PRC’s unfair trade practices, theft of American jobs, and other egregious behavior," he added. 9. Like I always said I blame the CDC , Dr Fauci and WHO for not doing their job . They are the experts on pandemics that should advise the political leaders , not blaming Trump at all.
  10. Did that prevent massive unemployment , massive federal , state and local deficits ? Did it prevent 140,000 deaths and rising , hospitals pushed to the limit , schools closed ?

  17. Latest NFL economic proposal cuts team player costs by $40M The latest economic proposal from the NFL to the NFLPA regarding the effects of COVID-19 during the 2020 season removes a portion of player salary held in escrow, however, it does call for a cut to each team's player costs. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Thursday night that the NFL has proposed cutting each team's player costs by $40 million in salary cap and/or benefits for this season, per sources informed of the situation. That move replaces a previous proposal that called for 35 percent of player salaries be held in escrow to aid in managing costs. Also under the current proposal any player who wishes to opt out of the 2020 season may do so with written notice by Aug. 1. Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero What happens if no deal is struck on economics? A projected multibillion revenue shortfall in 2020 would be accounted for in 2021, causing the salary cap to drop by in the range of $50 million to $70 million per club. League wants a deal done before camp. Union in no rush. 9:30 PM · Jul 16, 2020 https://www.nfl.com/news/latest-nfl-economic-proposal-cuts-team-player-costs-by-40m

  19. GOP to Trump: Change tune on mail-in voting or risk ugly November Republican officials throughout the country are reacting with growing alarm to President Donald Trump's attacks on mail-in ballots, saying his unsubstantiated claims of mass voting fraud are already corroding the views of GOP voters, who may ultimately choose not to vote at all if they can't make it to the polls come November. Behind the scenes, top Republicans are urging senior Trump campaign officials to press the President to change his messaging and embrace mail-in voting, warning that the party could lose the battle for control of Congress and the White House if he doesn't change his tune, according to multiple GOP sources. The impact could be detrimental to the GOP up and down the ticket, according to a bevy of Republican election officials, field operatives, pollsters and lawmakers who are watching the matter closely. Every vote will count in critical battleground states, they argue, fearful that deterring GOP voters from choosing a convenient option to cast their ballots could ultimately sway the outcome of races that are decided by a couple of percentage points. And with the coronavirus pandemic potentially bound to get worse in the fall, voting by mail is becoming an increasingly popular option since many voters may prefer not to wait in long lines at polling stations. That will leave Democrats with a major advantage if their voters send their ballots by mail while Republican voters forgo that option simply because they are listening to the concerns of the President. https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/16/politics/republican-reaction-trump-mail-in-voting/index.html

  22. Siberian heatwave made 600 times more likely by climate change, experts find (CNN)The prolonged heatwave in Siberia from January to June, which pushed overall temperatures 5 degrees Celsius (9 degrees Fahrenheit) higher than normal, would have been "almost impossible" if not for human-caused climate change, a new study has found. Temperatures in Siberia have been above average since the beginning of the year, with the Russian town of Verkhoyansk recording a temperature of 38 degrees C (100.4 degrees Fahrenheit) in June -- a record temperature for the Arctic. The heat in the vast Russian region triggered widespread wildfires in June, associated with an estimated 56 million tons of carbon dioxide -- more than the annual emissions of some industrialized nations like Switzerland and Norway. The heat in Siberia has also accelerated the melting of permafrost. An oil tank built on the frozen soil collapsed in May, leading to one of the worst oil spills ever in the region. https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/16/world/siberia-heatwave-climate-change-intl-scli-scn/index.html

UK, US and Canada allege Russian cyberattacks on CoVID-19 research centers Hospitals, research laboratories, health care providers and pharmaceutical companies have all been hit, officials say, and the US Department of Health and Human Services -- which oversees the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention -- has been struck by a surge of daily strikes, an official with direct knowledge of the attacks previously told CNN The NCSC, which is the UK's lead technical authority on cyber security and part of the UK's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), assessed that APT29 "almost certainly operate as part of Russian Intelligence Services". This assessment is also supported by partners at the Canadian Communication Security Establishment (CSE), the US Department for Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Security Agency (NSA), the NCSC said. https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/16/politics/russia-cyberattack-covid-vaccine-research/index.html
