Opponents other than the Pats are 18-39
Bookie Man replied to Ben's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely. I'm not feeling bad about it at all. After 2 decades of of TB12 in our daily division, I feel no shame about a weaker than normal conference. If Buffalo was in any other division, they would have been in the playoffs at least 3 other years imo. At least. -
Refs have always made crappy calls. It's unfortunate that these calls affect the outcome of games and even seasons for some. Detroit just went from 1st to worst in the NFCN, after last nights debacle. They need to simplify the refereeing. Only make calls that are blatant and that affect the play. The game would be 10 x better. Easily. Nothing worse than phantom holding calls that erase a big play. Especially if the phantom hold is away from the play. Oh and start fining refs for mistakes. Bigger the screw up, bigger the fine. Last night, the ref should have been fined the maximum amount.

League may be a bit watered down this year. -
Week 7: Dolphins at Bills (-17)
Bookie Man replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
16.5 is A LOT of points. Especially when you're averaging 18 a game. That being said, I see a 31 - 6 type game. -
Smart, retired NFL players would make the best refs I think. Better than these bums they trot out every week. There's have to be some limits though. You couldn't have Steve Smith out there doing Panther games or Peyton doing the Broncos haha.

Yeah basically call what you actually see and don't call anything ticky tacky especially if it has no effect on the play, i.e. 20 yard run called back because wr on the other side of the field flagged for block in the back. Loosen up on holding on both sides, and illegal contact on defense. Games are so much better to watch when they let the players play don't disrupt the flow with borderline holding calls killing drives all the time. Imo.

When are they going to start holding press conference with refs after games? They literally don't have to answer to anyone no matter how bad they screw things up. NFL will just try to over compensate and make whatever the mess up challengable the next season ?.

WOW. I'd be hot if I was a lions fan! Not that'd it'd matter, but I'd be freakin livid. Just like I felt in 98 at Foxboro! NFL needs to start fining refs or something. 2019 and they still can't get it right. And the answer is so simple.

I really want to see a red and blue uniform combo. It may look so hideous, that it might even look kind of cool.

Week 7: Dolphins at Bills (-17)

Fitz magic to start? He could either put up 300 yards and 4 tds or 100 yards and 4 picks... -
Just how dominant is this Buffalo Bills defense?
Bookie Man replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McD is the real deal as a defensive mind. I can't decide if this defense is better than the 98 defense. I think I would give the edge to the 98 D. Wade Phillips had that Defense dialed in. Sam Cowart was the best mlb in the game then. I thought he was better than Ray Lewis that year. Clements and Winfield on the outside. Bruce and Marcellus Wiley. They played such a physical brand. -
I'm not going to lie, I think Metcalf and Allen would be a great combo. They're both big, raw physical specimens. I think the chemistry would be good. I like Ford, I think he'll be a beast also. I kind of got turned off by Metcalf because a lot of people had him going to Buffalo at 9, which I was against.

I'm a little higher on Yeldon than most (or possibly all) on here. He's had 2 bad fumbles during his young walk in Buffalo, that really have left a bad taste in people's mouths and I get that. But I don't really think that's been a problem for him iirc. I think he's weapon as a receiver out of the backfield and he looks like he has a decent burst when he hits the hole. You could do far worse as a #3 RB. But if Gore were to go down, and Motor not at 100% I would definitely be worried.

If you put them together it's The Hairy Kitty -
Reasons to not feel so bad about Patrick Mahomes

I know its way too early to judge, but what a WEAK top 10! -
I remember when Poyer was signed, he was dismissed by A LOT of people here because "he wasn't good enough to make the lowly Browns roster".
-
Are there any similarities between that team and this team? I think I remember a few ugly wins that year. 13 - 10 type games. Both great defenses. Both 4-1 starts. Cowart was a monster back then. 98 team was 11th in yards gained and #1 in yards against. I think this year they are currently 12th and 3rd, respectively. That 98 team was good, but more of a veteran core I think. This years team has a younger foundation and is being built for the haul.

Early Week 7 Line: Bills -15.5 over Dolphins
Bookie Man replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What's the over/under? I'm guessing around 39 or 40. Vegas might be thinking a 28-12 type score, which I could definitely see. -
6 takeaways from the Bills' decision to trade Zay Jones
Bookie Man replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he does well, I'll be happy for him. Seems like a good guy. -
I met a guy who is a bookie. We started talking football, then about Buffalo. He said one of his guys is a big Bills fan and had 13k to win 10k on the Bills over won total. This was back around week 2. I told him there's a pretty high chance, he's gonna have to dish that out. I have a little bit on it. I have it at 7 wins though. Still like it!

Could Alabama Crimson Tide beat the Miami Dolphins?
Bookie Man replied to BrycePaup4ever's topic in College Football
Ok. Those guys are pretty good. But how do they hold up for 4 quarters vs an NFL line? Who is in that DL rotation? And what about the the 2nd level. Who are the LBs? How big are they? Tremaine Edmunds is a physical freak, Roquan Smith is a beast also. But imagine them as rookies, or even before getting drafted going against NFL lineman and NFL offensive coordinators. College kids that haven't even had a chance to adjust yet, no NFL coaching. Thats what we're talking about, right a college team against a pro team right? It would not be close at all. Mike Tyson vs. Floyd Mayweather type battle.
