Should the Ravens trade up with Miami for Matt Ryan or
BuffaloBud replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't forget Troy Smith is in this mix. Granted, it was the last game of the season last year, but I thought he had good command of the offense and had good pace to the game. -
I was going to suggest this when you were in the DC area, but they don't start until May. Marine Corps Silent Drill Team [Edit] NOTE: They are sold out on reserved sales already for 2008.

Don't know if any of you have caught this or not, but the Indy - Bills game will open the new Lucas Oil stadium.

Refund from state (received), payment to fed (today). Try to balance one against the other.

My dad just had 2 installed - in series.

Mole was biopsied and has been confirmed to be melanoma. Oncologist re-confirmed.
-
Doc said that my excision will need a couple of staples. I joked that I wanted them to come from NASA not Home Depot. He did not laugh.

8 May - Just received the news from the DR that the oncology report on the area of skin and lymph nodes removed is all negative. No signs of Mr. Ugly. Staples (17 of them) come out in 3 weeks. Just call me Zippy. Thanks to all for the good thoughts. ******** Guys and gals, we've all kidded around about going to the doctor for the annual physical (or some that do not go). I'm writing this to all of you to make sure that you and your loved ones go and get a once over. It is important. I can say this because of what I found out yesterday. I have melanoma. 63,000 people are found with this each year, 8,000 die from it each year. Here's my story. After some (understatement) prodding from my wife, I got an annual physical last Nov. The doctor did a once over for unusual moles and noticed one that he said that I should see a dermatologist about. After some prodding again from wifey, I did just that. The mole in question turned out to be melanoma of which the oncologist confirmed yesterday. The site is classified as a Stage 2A tumor (over 1mm deep, mine measured 1.1mm). This "mole" had been with me for as long as I can remember. This area has to be excised (2cm on each side), plus I have to have a sentinel lymph node biopsy. The lymph node biopsy is to check to see if there is any cancer cells in the lymph node site where this specific "mole" would spread from. Surgery is for the end of the month. I am very positive about this and have no underlying fears or nerves. Why am I writing this? Because I have one request to each of you. I want each and everyone of you to get a physical this year, whether you like it or not. And make sure that your immediate family gets one as well. Also, take care of yourself. I feel that because I get 1HR of physical activity each day, eat pretty well, don't smoke, basically live a balanced life I should do just fine. In the end, I want all of us someday to see a Buffalo Bill on the top of a podium holding a Super Bowl trophy. So make the appointment.

I can't disagree with you at all on this. I've tired of going to a game and have it turn out to be a stupid-fest. Worse situation was at The Shoe for the NC State - OSU game few years ago. As I had just moved to Columbus from Raleigh, I had a NC State shirt (color - red) on with a Block O hat, basically cheering for both sides as it was a good game. People around me were generally friendly to start - a bit of friendly give and take during the game. Noticed that bottles were passed even though there was screeners at the entrance. But, when it got into OT and OSU stopped NC State to win the game I had a couple of yahoos who I had benn talking with (and who had been taking their share of the bottle) get all up in face. I mentioned that I hoped that all OSU fans were not as beligerant as they were and told them good game. Had a couple of other close calls walking back to the car. In the end, I'll think twice about being impartial.

Totally fogot about this last night when we visited the local BWWs. Guy at the table next to us must have thought that they were playing for the national championship. I did remind my wife that they were playing for the 66th best team in the country a bit louder than I should have. He simmered down a bit after that.

Qualify on every one of those. -
I have to agree with Ramius on this one. 20+ years ago one could not find a entry level job (manufacturing engineering) to save your life in WNY. I had more offers than one could shake a stick at from down south. Moved to Texas to work for TI at the same pay that my father was making at the same time!! Progression took me to NC and OH, both with great offers and opportunities. I have not heard / seen one major or mid-major manufacturing company move or expand into WNY. Where IN recently landed the new Honda mfg facility. Wasn't it some time ago that someone in the Dallas area (GBID?) was trying to expand his business and wanted to do so in WNY because that's where he grew up and the WNY and NYS authorities practically barfed all over themselves and where MN business authorities provided all kinds of start up assistance and set up all kinds of contacts? One would think that with today's economy that WNY / NYS business authorities would bend over backward for a "native". And how long does one need to plan and build a new bridge? Good grief - that's the poster child for ineptitude right there. Like I tell people, you can take the man out of Buffalo, but you can't take the Buffalo out of the man. It's also the place where time left behind.

Doesn't mention software override directly, but it does address the problem and legislation on-going in OH. If fact, bill has been presented to OH gov for signature. Linky

Each ring is personalized. Manning's name is a sample.

Very much agreed. They had a tasting of a late season chardonnay - a dessert wine / digestif. Out of this world! Wifey and I each bought a bottle. We drink it like it is liquid gold.

I've been hooked on the Andretti Zinfandel and Primativo of late. Suggestion I have is to find a good wine store (or sales person) and get to know them. A Vin 100 store just opened up near me and I have a path beaten down to the place. Suggestion I have it to try different things and note what tastes good. Buy it again if you do. Wifey and I did the Napa area for a 3 day stint last fall. Had a blast!! (Rutherford Hill, Domain Chandon, Stag's Leap, Hess, Havens, Whitehall Lane, Diamond Oaks, C Lede, Frank Family, Rubicon, Andretti)

Absolute classics!! And, let's not forget building a new stadium along the waterfront.

Tiger Woods swears on the golf course
BuffaloBud replied to stevestojan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
There are two things that I would not want to do to Tiger. One make him mad so that Steve comes over and puts my lights out and the other being Tiger dropping me like a wet bag a bread. Was at the Tavistock event this week and both are B I G! -
Man, great input (even the sarcasm was good). I thought this topic would die instantaneously. Fitness center right on site so I can clean up when I get here. For those that do commute do you carry your work clothes each day or take a supply of clothes for the week? Any equipment suggestions (panniers, rack, etc)?
-
With the last of the snow gone by (knock on wood), I've been thinking about riding a bike to work. My commute by car is 7 miles, one way. Best by bike would be near 12, one way. First time in 20+ yrs of working that I have this opportunity and think I can do it. NOTE: Doing this more for my health than "saving the earth" and all that. Looking for ideas on equipment, tips, how to from the TBD brethren. I've already done the Google bit.

What kind of dog do you have?
