Sammy: Not Exactly a Vote of Confidence for Rex
What a Tuel replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he most wants a real qb who will accurately throw him the ball so he can prove himself. If we don't have one by then, he is going to take offers. -
Yep, we do 3 week playoffs ending in week 16. We don't like Week 17 when potential star players might be rested. Good advice once again, unfortunately I went with Benjamin cause I didn't see it until now. I think all is well though, so long as Gostkowski doesn't score 28 points (5 points for 50+ yarders, and it would be my luck for it to happen haha) What is your opinion on Landry now that Tannehill is out? Start Adams/Williams/Eifert/Walker next week and leave him and Matt Moore out of ruining my week?
-
Haha, ok I don't actually disagree when you put it that way

I've got it right here! Bills make playoffs! -
I don't know, most of the day, I saw him slide off of our defense like he was coated in grease or something. No one wanted to wrap him up. Arm here, arm there, shoulder to try to knock him down, but no wrapping.
-
why don't you wrap him up?

12 - 42 - 36 = 90 receptions for WR1 WR2 and TE
What a Tuel replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seeing as how he has played 33/44 games so far, yes I feel confident that Watkin's will play a lot next year barring some freak injury like Kelvin Benjamin's ACL tear. Sammy has the 5th year team option so he plays all the way through 2018. And we will resign him. We do need another WR but mostly because Woods will get too much as a free agent. -

Is this the same "source" that says the Bills are interested in Cutler/Romo? They just make **** up. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000754385/article/tyrod-taylors-contract-gives-bills-options-in-offseason -

Watkins explained what happened. He was practicing and running full speed, and a lineman running backwards stepped on his foot and almost broke it again. They determined it wasn't broken when they saw a specialist, but another surgery may be necessary to get rid of the pain. He will be fine next year. Stop exaggerating. As I have said many times before, Julio Jones missed the same amount of time his first 3 years, and had about the same stats as Sammy Watkins. -

There is no reason to think it won't get better. Someone will likely sign Robert Woods next year, but Sammy will be fine. I do think we need to draft a starting WR, and pick up a free agent WR though. -
Last year it was "The Bills won't be playing the crappy NFC East next year, they've got the tough NFC West" This year it is "The Bills won't be playing the crappy NFC West next year, they've got the tough NFC South"

My team has been tanking lately. Need some help on my lineup, these damn players are alternating 20 point games with 3 point games (I'm looking at you Davante Adams) Really struggling with who to play at the WR and TE positions. My team has been awful lately, so I went for the matchups this week. What would you change:

The place to repent for McCoy Doubters
What a Tuel replied to Maury Ballstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
MG and Karlos had a field day? On their 4 carries each? Mike Gillislee 4 carries 81 yards 1 td 1st Carry - 10 yards 2nd Carry - 2 yards 3rd Carry - 60 yard run TD 4th Carry - 9 yard run Karlos Williams 4 carries 41 yards 1st Carry - 11 yards 2nd Carry - 7 yards 3rd Carry - 7 yards 4th Carry - 16 yards Do you want to know why they were successful? Because we were down by like 3 scores on every single one of their runs. Gillislee's 60 yard run was when we were down 28 to 3. Do you think they may have played a little bit of deep coverage once we took out Shady? They had the lead and time on their side with about a quarter and a half left in the game. They wanted us to run. -

Are you really arguing again that a full time Gillislee would put up Shady-like stats given the opportunity? Secondly, if Shady's contract is part of the conversation then Karlos Williams fudging up surely has to be. I mean, say we don't get Shady, and we pick up Gillislee and Karlos like you say. Karlos busts out. So now the Buffalo Bills have Gillislee as their feature back. And you suggest that we would be better off because we wouldn't use the cap on Shady? What? This is nuts. -
TNF: Actual frozen tundra for Chefs-Raiders

Turnovers have been noticeably lacking for the Bills right? I mean we don't turn the ball over, but I feel like we don't get a whole lot either. -

Trying to watch this game on my phone without using too much data watching the ads is nearly impossible. Everytime I tune back in its a commerical or "we'll be right back" -

They have had incredible luck this year. Turnovers have kept them in the playoff race, no doubt about it in my mind. Some would call that good defense, and some of it is, but picking a two point conversion for a 2pt return to win the game? No one would bet on that happening. No one. -

No, this is Carr's MO. He sucks for 2.5-3 quarters and then says "oh , we are going to lose. Better step up." -

You are projecting a 2,000 yard season off of 111 carries over 2 years? Also, I remember going back and forth about this with you in the offseason. Your point was a mix of "I don't think Shady has it in him to take the opportunities he left on the field this year, and that injuries, and age would nag him into retirement". You were wrong. Now you are shifting it to "well he's doing it because the offense is enabling him". wtf kind of point is that? -
I'm with you. Those people live for the day they can say "if it wasn't for you rooting for our team, we could have a logical discussion about how to rebuild it"

After the 1st Oakland TD I was like - "ok just don't go 3 and out." We bring out the god damn wildcat for two plays in a row. After the punt - "ok just stop them, defense, you've done ok so far" Oakland immediately scores a TD. After the 2nd Oakland TD - I was like "ok... Tyrod work some magic, we are still up by one, just don't go three and out" We go three and out After the punt - "ok defense, for the love of god just stop them" Oakland immediately scores a 3rd TD After the 3rd Oakland TD, "ok.....only one score down, you can't possibly go 3 and out again" WTF After the punt and subsequent defensive stop "ok we got a stop, just get it together guys!" Tyrod throws an interception (off of his arm being hit), Raiders score a 4th td. This is what infuriated me the most. The utter and sudden collapse of what looked like a promising game. How the f does that happen?

Jim Schwartz took Eagles 30th ranked defense to top 5
What a Tuel replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Drafted Dareus in 2011, we signed Mario in 2012, drafted EJ and Alonso, and traded for Hughes in 2013. And in 2014 drafted Sammy Watkins. We released Mario after he gave up in 2015. They did exactly what you wanted. It just didn't work out. Unless you mean to tell me signing Mario/Dareus 1-2 years ahead of the QB is what broke it? No it broke because the QB position didn't work out. -
My gut is that he wants the weaker teams in the playoffs, and the way they abused us, I believe he considers us a weaker team than Denver (But we shall see) My reasoning is last year the Pats losing to the Jets in week 16 seemed too blatant to me. He'd rather play the Jets than the Steelers in the playoffs.

Curious that the Bills did this with EJ Manuel, traded down and netted Kiko Alonso, and then the next year drafted Sammy Watkins, in the meantime had drafted Dareus, signed Mario Williams in Free agency, traded for Hughes etc, and then you criticize them as if they haven't done it that way....
