Is Sean McDermott our version of Doug Collins?
What a Tuel replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Your problem is you don't see that your demand for a championship by dismantling the very organization that is currently competing for one can be detrimental to your stated goal. -

Who are you going to hire? You can easily wind up with a plethora of bad coaches who ended up dismantling the team. For what? McDermott isn't the playoff problem. Texans we had young Josh Allen playing hero ball. Chiefs we didn't have the roster Chiefs we had the roster but we botched 13 seconds Bengals the team was just out of it. You could just tell they were mentally fatigued. The question is absolutely 100% who are you going to hire? -

It's a pretty relavent question. A lot of people are presenting the argument that McDermott is preventing us from winning and that subtracting him makes us better. If we just stick any competent person in there then 13 secs doesn't happen. It's nonsense. You win by consistently making the playoffs and competing which we are doing. Pretty sure only 2 HC in the last 2 decades have won multiple super bowls. You don't throw consistent playoff football in the toilet unless you have a surefire plan. Talk about wasting the super bowl window with a rebuild. -
The Allen-Diggs Relationship in Decline?
What a Tuel replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
A lot of "who knows" and speculating for statements as confident as the bolded. Why does that make sense? Everything we've seen with Allen is he wants to get better and he has that drive. Especially in games. The bengals game was a team failure, not a allen wasn't prepared failure. -
Its such a dumb assumption as to why we lost that game. Everyone looks for reasons but ffs they were plainly obvious during that game. Their D line dominated our O line. Josh is not the O line. Their back up O line dominated our (minus Von) starting D line. Josh is not our D line. Our DB's giving 10 yards of buffers for easy 1st downs. Josh is not our defensive coach, or DBs.

The stupid window crap is so annoying. It is so billsy for fans to be worrying about a window closing in the middle of the first playoff football we've seen in two decades. This will all work itself out. The holier than thou attitude of fans is also annoying, talking about a tight super bowl window while at the same time saying we should cut our #1 WR in June at expense of huge amounts of dead cap because he didn't report to a 3 day minicamp in JUNE. Did I say June? Sheesh.

All-Pro DT Chris Jones not at Chiefs Mandatory Minicamp
What a Tuel replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe Chris Jones is upset with the coaching staff and wants to move on and be traded. -
Yeah I see what you mean. I really hope its just updating the penalty to be consistent and these other articles just mistakenly added this "Hand-offs will have to be behind the quarterback or equal to the quarterback.". I'd have thought a change like this would be bigger news so maybe you are right. NFL site simply says they are bringing the rule in line with illegal forward passes as you state: https://operations.nfl.com/updates/the-game/approved-2023-playing-rules/ 12. By Competition Committee; to make the penalty for illegally handing the ball forward consistent with other illegal acts, such as illegal forward passes.

https://new.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-rule-changes-2023-no-0-jersey-is-back-personal-foul-penalties-clarified-one-date-for-roster-cutdowns/ Thought this would be bigger news since Allen holds the ball til the last second a ton. Did a search and didn't see a thread. "To make handing the football forward a penalty like an illegal forward pass, proposed by the Competition Committee Rule change: This will penalize teams handing off the football forward on a read-option, for example, or any other running play a penalty. Handoffs will have to be made next to or behind the quarterback, not in front of. "
