  1. I really feel like these QB competitions make for an unproductive camp. Teams with already named starting QBs are getting maximum reps with their 1s and we're sitting around watching three QBs getting a third of the reps with the 1s, 2s, and/or 3s. It's really detrimental to growth.
  2. I'm not sure if this is snark or not, but i'm basing that off of all previous comments/observations made by Astro. Batted/INT passes are taking a back seat to just straight over/underthrown balls.
  3. Does anyone notice that the QBs aren't really throwing a ton of picks, considering our secondary? Like they'd rather overthrow/underthrow their targets then risk an INT. Why not take more chances now? Throw some jump balls, try to put it on an outside shoulder, thread the needle. There are zero consequences. You hear EJ talking about "letting it fly" and then you see a stat report of 5 overthrown balls 2 behind the receiver. Take some chances!
  4. I made an identical comment last training camp. Sammy is good. We don't need him sprinting around camp waiting to get hurt. I feel like he's game ready in July. I get that his presence helps the DBs learn, but we don't need to risk it.
  5. Yeah i saw that and flipped through to Bill's foreward. They have only the second page in the preview. I'm not a conspiracy nut, it's just interesting.
  6. I can't go back 75 pages to see if this was covered, but I just read this on another forum. Has this been discussed? Did you know the book The Physics of Football was written in 2005 by Dr Gay Timothy. It discusses the game from a scientific perspective. It clearly states that a football is easier to grasp, throw, carry and catch if deflated slightly, " like the difference of gripping foam rubber vs gripping a bowling ball. Especially in cold weather." Do you know who actually wrote the forward for the book in 2005. Bill Belichick.
  7. Scroll to the bottom of page 1 of a thread and click Full Version. It will give you a page that looks like a 'regular computer' version.
  8. I just felt there was more play by play last practice. This practice is only another hour, right?
  9. I get what you're saying. BUT HE'S NOT HITTING HIS THROWS. Past performance does not guarantee future earnings.
  10. Camp, Day 1 and everyone is already taking QB sides. Couple slow eyes, couple "sacks," and Simms getting more reps in a two hour practice. Lines are clearly being drawn. This is certain to be the longest camp in history if this is any indicator.
  11. Meanwhile the Jags have a live stream of camp: http://www.jaguars.com/trainingcamp/
  12. Bills Backers Bars for sure. The DJ plays it after every TD and/or win. It's a great day-drunk at a random dark bar in Charlotte song.
  13. I try not to read the ESPN comment sections, especially for matters regarding the Patriots** but I just couldn't help myself. They all want/believe that Goodell should resign after this. For doing this to their Tommy. But for some reason they have amnesia about Goodell probably saving their entire franchise's history by destroying SpyGate tapes/notes on-site. "In a Jan. 31 letter to Specter, which the senator released Friday, Goodell said the tapes and notes on the investigation were destroyed to ensure that the Patriots 'would not secure any possible competitive advantage as a result of the misconduct.'"
  14. These points, and others, are addressed in greater detail in the following Annotations to the Executive Summary of the Wells Report by Daniel L. Goldberg, a senior partner in the Boston office of Morgan Lewis and who represented the Patriots I'm done reading
  15. Remember when Kraft met with Goodell, and then Kraft came out to the media and did a complete about-face? Came out saying he would take whatever punishment the league imparts. You have to assume Goodell eased Kraft's mind about the process moving forward. He probably said listen Brady's going to appeal, I'll be the one making the final decision and I'll reduce his punishment for fear that Brady and the NFLPA will sue the league, which would delay Brady's suspension until after it's resolved. I look like my hands were tied, Brady doesn't miss a game and we move on. My guess: 0 game suspension and a nominal fine for tampering/not cooperating with the investigation.
  16. as much as i like guitar-riffy montages, i like hearing the announcer calls over music more.
  17. so your argument initially was: it takes incompetence to walk into a recession (a decline) and make things worse for children. Then, when presented with evidence that, in fact, this is a trend that has been happening prior to the administration and, if you used the new 30% of pretax income, would be markedly worse, you say: "i'll remember that next time a liberal..." I tried giving the politics section a chance on here. That was asinine on my part. good luck with your right wing circle jerk.
  18. It rose 18% in a decade pre-recession. This isn't just a trend that began in '08. http://www.npr.org/2011/08/17/139714683/study-child-poverty-up-in-38-states-over-past-decade And it's the same foundation as your study, and they're measuring "poverty" as income under 22,350/yr for a family of four, which this new study is measuring as housing exceeding 30% of pre-tax income (much bigger net).
  19. Ah, yes, my apologies.
  20. A tape was already released. The officer pulled her out of the car because she wouldn't put her cigarette out. She was arrested for what amounts to 'contempt of cop.' They said she hanged herself with a plastic bag. An autopsy is being performed, the investigators are treating it as a murder, and the FBI has seized the prison's tapes. They'll have an answer in probably a few months. video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSpZxCOVYx8 http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/jul/20/sandra-bland-arrested-officer-annoyed-smoking
  21. Why dismantle a great, cohesive defense you just built to have a QB that has maybe 3-4 more productive years? He's 33 and you're dropping him into the northeast in a competitive division, in a cold-weather city that actually cares about football. It doesn't bode well for him.
