  1. This is the stance I'm taking as well. I know he only has 15 games to his career, but the way things have shaken out, he's in a last-chance scenario. Let him run with the 1s in preseason and prove his worth. This is a new NFL where rookies are tossed into the fire. So far he hasn't shown nearly enough progress, especially in his accuracy. The old Bills of years' past may have just handed him the keys this year, but we don't have the time anymore. We have a solid team, we need answers and consistency at that position now.
  2. I think he was referring to the "every last reporter/observer" has EJ at third.
  3. The kid works his butt off and loves the game and says things like 'just gonna have fun and let it fly.' so you just KNOW he's going to be good one day.
  4. So, hypothetically, a QB could have 0 rushing yards and a rushing TD?
  5. So a QB runs a TD in and he has a passing TD? No. THAT is misleading.
  6. The only good thing about a three way QB competition is that the preseason games are watchable through more quarters. Be prepared for debates on well cassel threw 45 yds and an int against the 1s and ej had a TD and 72 yds against the 2s but Taylor had 126 yds and 2tds vs the 3s. What. Does. It. All. Mean?!!!!
  7. I think he's saying PK is pandering. Not that he's for the Redskin name.
  8. The problem with this three-way carousel QB competition is that it will never end. You're giving everyone a glimpse into three QBs that you're assuming are on equal footing. Week 1, whoever starts, will have an extremely short leash. We'll be in the 2nd half game thread reading 'Tyrod couldve gotten around the edge there for that first down,' 'we really just need someone like Cassel to manage these drives' 'EJ needs to be in there, he doesn't even have a full season under his belt to prove himself!" It will never end.
  9. How quickly you forgot. No matter what happens Friday the bad will be dismissed with and the good will be tempered with #vanilladefense #notusingtheentireplaybook
  10. I'm a horrible twobillsdriver. i'll learn this technology one day
  11. I read that and I'm wondering if he's including "drops" as receptions, from a pure EJ performance/accuracy standpoint I understand, but it's misleading. Either that or he had his grand kids keeping tally
  12. I have no idea. But i'll answer your question with questions: Does the Buffalo media? Haven't they been scooped time and again by national guys? Hasn't access to both the Bills/Sabres been a problem for them?
  13. And it doesn't help that Joe B and Rodak's combined age doesn't surpass half the people on these boards
  14. In the end the media (especially the oft-shunned Buffalo media) knows about as much as we do. They have their bias and their speculation and they don't know any more or less than Astro.
  15. I thought Trent Edwards was the next franchise QB. Side note: in college I had a friend who LOVED JP Losman. i didn't. after one particularly long TD throw from JP, my friend said in all seriousness, "dare i say, hall of fame?" we will never let him live that down. ever.
  16. oh, this article has tjax listed (i know he signed with us immediately after): 2012: At the conclusion of the team’s three-day rookie minicamp, coach Pete Carroll announces that Russell Wilson will join the competition for the starting quarterback job with free-agent addition Matt Flynn and incumbent starter Tarvaris Jackson.
  17. Serious Question: When was the last time a preseason QB battle has resulted in a playoff berth?
  18. Yeah you're basically saying let's bring in MORE bad mobile quarterbacks into camp. I can barely keep up with four bad QB 7v7 statlines per day.
  19. Shouldn't a guy that we drafted to be QB two years ago have some command on a QB competition with a guy that has one NFL pass attempt and a 33 year old journeyman? We are having this competition because he's NOT doing the right things.
  20. I agree. I'm not an EJ hater, I want him to succeed, but when do we close down the experiment? He was a project QB when we drafted him and our expectations have always been a little too high. Here we are coming into season three and I think it's still the same story. WEAKNESSES Gives opponents too many chances for turnovers by forcing throws into coverage trying to make a play. Area code accuracy -- short throws are often low or wide, preventing receivers from making a play after the catch. Deep ball accuracy is uneven as well. Gets happy feet under pressure, spins to the outside to avoid the rush. Inconsistent recognizing blitz. Must step into his throws more consistently to fully utilize his arm strength. WEAKNESSES: He has a tendency to force throws into coverage trying to make a play. His decision-making and field vision are suspect. He struggles to work through progressions and often takes off running too quickly. Manuel has some accuracy issues as well. Short throws are often low or wide and his deep ball accuracy is uneven, as well. Gets happy feet under pressure, spins to the outside to avoid the rush. Must step into his throws more consistently to fully utilize his arm strength. Weaknesses: Not a natural passer Decision-making Field vision Struggles to work through progressions Runs too quickly Spotty accuracy Can panic at times Didn't play as well against good defenses
