Not exaggerating: Bills are NFL's worst team now
Dan Gross replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So we are worse than Houston? San Fran? the Cards? Green Bay? Minnesota? I don't even think we're the worst team in our division right now... -
"confusion", "miscomunication" on defense

So you're saying that Gray is going Cottrell on us? -
Well, I guess if you want to look at the bright side, you can look no further than last year at this time. Offensively, we had scored fewer points in our first 4 games than we have this year (44 vs. 48). Our only points in the opener last year came on drives of 18 (TD) and -4 (FG) yards. After four games last year many were counting the season as toast and were counting the days until Losman could come in and get some starts under his belt, because our starting QB looked completely lost. Defensively, the "robust/killer" defense from last year (that was keeping us in the games despite the loser offense) allowed only 3 fewer points than our "sieve" of a defense this year (that is allowing teams to score at will, giving our offense no chance to stay in it), though last year's team did provide the turnovers that gave us all our points in the above-mentioned opener against Jax.. Special teams were better last year, as we had already scored a special teams TD by this time. Of course we came 4 yards shy of that this weekend... Overall, we have one less loss than we did last year at this time, and when we stared down at the "playoff chances" at the end of the year last year (and yes we did, even starting as putrid as we had) the four opening losses within the conference (2 in the division) were killer. This year we are 0-3 against the NFC, which wouldn't count in the long run. Last year we picked up victories against the "weakest division in the NFL" with the NFC teams. This year the NFC division we faced looks like the toughest (did you see Atlanta lay nearly 300 yards rushing (and Vick-less for 3 quarters) against our former DC and former Bills defensive stars?) Based on how things are looking so far, we could actually be in the softest division in the AFC. When did we turn it around last year? Our 5th game, at home, vs. the Dolphins...We still didn't score much on offense, but we cranked out a victory...

So what's going on in here? Any bridge jumpers?
-
Well, considering they are obviously paraphrasing whatever it was he said (they didn't use quotes, and in fact the implication is that the actual quote that follows is what supports the paraphrased statement), they have done some interpretation. There are two options in this type of situation: pout or focus on doing your own job to the best of your ability, because no one's perfect (except of course you VABills). Surprisingly, the head coach of the football team is advocating the latter.

Has he threatened to leave to join the NBA...again...?

That "bearded dude" is Pinto Kenny. I want to know what's going on with Tom and aussie, especially with him holding something that looks like a cigar...

Yeah, I thought about them too (wasn't sure of the name though ), but they can be jammed if you go at the wrong time...

According to the csiguide.com forums, it's "The song used to open and close the episode is the Gary Jules version of the Tears For Fears hit Mad World"

Now you know why....

So Frank also signalled in audibles somehow? That is where this discussion sub-thread started, and I mentioned Hull because I've heard Kelly mention several times how Hull would correct his audibles.

For "local flavor" on Transit there's always Ted's Hots...unless you're looking for sit down...I think there's a Bob Evans there somewhere. Actually, as Tiger says there are restaurants everywhere in that area...

My impression is that the law firm in Boston Legal is a moderately large one. They have at least two offices (Schmidt came in from another branch...NYC, right?). Wouldn't be surprising for them to have 20,40,50 lawyers in the Boston practice. I don't think the intent is to show "all" the lawyers at the firm (like an LA Law/Practice), but a core group. So it's not that the associate is "suddenly there" but that she's suddenly thrust into the story arc. Potter and Mitra are on their way out, and I thought I had read that this particular story arc (with the "TJ Hooker" reunion ) was actually originally slotted to air last season...but they decided for whatever reason to start the 2nd season with it. Would explain why Potter and Mitra are still there...

But at least the eldest Brown could coach! His Cleveland Browns only had one losing season under him! And it only took Mike 13 years to figure out he needed competent help! Ralph is on 45 years and counting! Besides that, I asked for 40+ years! The Bengals didn't start until 1968! Try Again! -
Your comments reminded me of this ad for some reason...

If not for Mo Lewis... who would be our QB

It's obvious: Jason Peters. -

Point-by-point to your point-by-point -As of the close of 2005, there are 16 teams that have lifetime win-loss records ((source). I'm sure you like being in the bottom half of all NFL teams! -Yeah, and if you skip the 9,10, and 11 win seasons you have an even more pathetic record. My point was they had two good runs, and nearly nothing beyond that! -Hey, I guess if you're happy being at the bottom half of the NFL, you'll be happy with that as well. To each his own, Mr. Ralph apologist! -And based on all the other stuff I can see why you're happy with being the third best team in a four-team division! -Hey, 13 teams have had a .500 or better record in the post-season! ((source) You make it sound tough! -And yet he has only one playoff run to show for it! -Ah, so that's it! If the guy screws up the team this bad while trying to improve it, imagine how bad he would make it if he purposefully tanked a season! Nice blackmail by Donahoe! -Ah, so it was equally inept of Ralphie boy to get rid of the one guy who could have managed the cap right when the Salary Cap system started! Thanks for making my point! Mularkey is 10-9 so far, but 1-2 this year! What have you done for me lately, Ralphie Boy! - 27-40! longest playoff drought in almost 20 years! -Afraid, afraid, afraid! Just like Ralphie extended Donahoe because he was afraid TD would purposefully tank the team! Let's forever bask in mediocrity! -Sarcasm?! Ha! What do you take me for, a rabble-rouser?! A ne'er-do-well?! Straight and to the point, that's what I bring to the table! Read my posts! I don't know the meaning of the word sarcasm! I don't ask much! Just playoffs every year! A super bowl win or 2 every 4 or 5 years (Gotta let someone else win every so often or it gets boring!)! Is that too much for a fan to ask?! Patriots fans have that, why can't we?! No sense replacing the man who picks the coaches and players if the man picking the man who picks the coaches and players can't pick guys who pick coaches and players! I want to see an owner who isn't afraid to try a new Coach/GM Combo every year until we find the combo that takes us to the playoffs again! This five years of nothing garbage gets you an extension is for the birds! Ralphie boy could care less about the Bills! -

Further he's a man of action. He'll pay what it takes to assemble the talent and it's clear to everyone that it's results now, or you're fired.
