  1. Thanks everyone (including myself) for the "best Bills' LB ever" talk. Didn't we learn after we started saying that about Cowart? About Spielman? We're lucky TSW wasn't around in the early '90's or else we would have lost the whole starting LB corps...
  2. Since they're allowing an average of 40+ points per game? No...? 30? No...? 20? No...? There's a difference between disappointing and dreadful. Oh, I forgot, this is TSW, the land of extremes. Either you're Canton-bound or you suck, and that hinges on your performance last week....my bad...carry on...
  3. Oh, and I did the lookup...where does it say that the Kelly game broke the streak?
  4. I will use this post as an example that I will admit when I am completely wrong about something. K-Dog, you are right, I was wrong.
  5. I wasn't using it as an "unimpeachable source," just a source. I did a dictionary lookup of drought and of all the definitions I got on the first page the Wikipedia one was the only one that referred to sports. I will add you to the "one year with no playoff appearances = drought" group, and will continue to agree to disagree with you as well. And the whole point of the Wikipedia concept is that you don't have to stand there cursing the darkness. Go ahead and submit your correction, it will get in...While you are at it, you can correct the entry for "drought" so that it accounts for a one year absence from the playoffs....
  6. Fine. You think that a 1 year absence from the playoffs qualifies as a "drought." I don't, Wikipedia doesn't. That's fine. We agree to disagree on it. Let's move on...Or we can look at it another way: would things have been any different had we beaten the Steelers' scrubs to make the playoffs (thus ending the drought) only to get absolutely creamed in the first round? Would all be forgiven? Would TD then "get a pass" for our performance so far this year (which is one win ahead of where we were against a weaker schedule at this point last year...)?
  7. Oops, I take that back. I forgot about the 1994 and 1997 seasons. If you consider a year out of the playoffs a "drought," then I guess how you can support what he said. Otherwise, this also ties for the shortest playoff drought in 20 years as well, and that's my point. Then he excuses the 3-13 season as a "salary cap hell" year when talking of TD's record as GM (probably not to be gracious but because it still left him with a losing record), so if he also erased that year from the drought it would be shorter than the previous "drought." He also wasn't around for the first year of the drought, and the reason it started to begin with, so that cuts Donahoe's "responsibility" for the drought by another year. This team isn't the Cowboys. We don't have a history of perennially making the playoffs and are suddenly in a drought. We are a team that has sniffed the playoffs a couple times before a wonderful run of playoff and Super Bowl appearances. If we were like the Cowboys I would understand him "comparing droughts." I don't like this drought and would love to see us return to the playoffs again, but I just think he detracts from his point with that comment.
  8. I'm nowhere near perfect. I didn't say his facts were wrong, just that they undercut his point.
  9. "...coincided with the organization's longest playoff drought in almost 20 years." As far as I can tell, the last playoff drought was 20 years ago. This is the equivalent of saying "this is the longest playoff drought since the last one...." Sorry, but when you have plenty of good points to make, you don't make bone-headed comments like that...I just couldn't read past that....
  10. I have Janibrewski on my fantasy team and I keep looking at scores going "Woohoo, two FG's and two PAT's, there's some points..." then I look at the box score and notice two missed FG's...
  11. Being a lemming, all I can think is "ditto."
  12. ..and likely a line that's been together for a while. I remember looking a couple years back at some of the "best" lines in the NFL (Denver, Indy, a couple of others), and the common denominator was that at least 4 of the 5 guys (in some cases...I believe Denver...all 5) had been playing together at least two years...
  13. ...and I actually thought the Fox scrubs were not too shabby, especially compared to the likes of Criqui/Reece/Cross/etc on CBS...
  14. They have scored more points in the first three games this year than the first three games last year....Hey, that's gotta count for something (1 more win than we had at this time last year, I guess... ).
  15. If Peter King thinks we have a playoff defense he obviously hasn't been reading this board...
  16. Interesting...10 of the 22 folks remaining predicted a winning record overall (3 predicted 8/8). And a loss against Miami at home OR a win against New England in New England will eliminate everyone remaining...
  17. Yawn. Always forces you to the same resulting symbol, except the symbol changes every time to give you the illusion that you have picked differently. Pick the same number twice, and you'll see....
  18. I was thinking DHMO myself...nasty stuff is everywhere.
  19. Lots of pushing though...
  20. Ah, a place to go to avoid MOM and the blame-game...this may not be too bad after all.
  21. Welcome home... I don't know how weird I am but I get what I call "allergy attacks." I'll completely fill up for maybe two hours at most (sometimes only a half hour), completely miserable at the time, but it seems most of the time I'd be over it before any medicine could help. Usually in the morning (occasionally in the afternoon), worst when it's damp. Does this happen to anyone else, or is this just yet another way that I'm weird?
  22. At least they teach spelling better than private schools, if you're any indication...
  23. Good luck and God speed. Let us know when you're safe (again ).
  24. and he had a try-out at WR for the Vikings this week, so says PFT....
  25. More like "Weekly World News."
