What has shaped your political beliefs?
Dante replied to drinkTHEkoolaid's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Grew up in a family business of some size(over 200 employees) in Southern Ontario and saw first hand how Provincial, Federal and city governments treat business as a cash cow to be milked, extorted for money. For what? To fund they're over abused social programs. To fund overpaid government workers including the ridiculously powerful teachers union. Fuggin glorified babysitters. Instead of giving some sort of credit for keeping over 200 or so families supported and maybe helping a bit all they could/can do is figure out how to get more money out of you. Not the only thing that shaped my political leanings but certainly a significant one causing me to have no use for left leanings and the people that try to inflict such BS on everyone. -
Black eyed whatever is agreeably close to as lame as it gets. However the upside is that at least they are getting entertainment that is somewhat current. Usually they would roll out "The Boss", Paul McCartney or Kiss. I see it as a step in the right direction.

My son has been excited about this for a while. I kinda don't get it. Maybe its because I'm just indifferent to talk shows in general. Besides that, Ive never found Conan to be particularly funny. Non event for me thats for sure. Was playing Fifa 11 last night while wife and kid were watching. -
Good thing about android is that you aren't married to any app. Especially if you root your phone, which is easy these days with the "one click root" app. Below is a good alternative to the stock email client that ships with the phones. Got this from adroidapp.com K9 Mail Android App is one of the best email clients for Android. It’s loaded with every email feature you could think of except ActiveSync (Push email, however IMAP integration syncs almost as fast as ActiveSync). By far a better replacement over the default email client created by Google (if you’ve read my gripe about the default email client deleting my inboxes article, you’ll know why). I personally like the iMAP folder synchronization, signatures and the ability to multi-manage several emails inboxes from a mobile device. Here is the complete list of features: Send and Receive Configure to IMAP, POP3, and WebDAV (Exchange) email protocols Search Multiple inboxes Swipe for Previous/Next emails Set Android Notifications, sounds and vibrate alerts Delete email on the server works (A huge gripe with users of the default email client, when you specify to delete on the server… it doen’t, meaning double work when you do get back to desktop) Signatures Multi-folder Synchronization Opening and Saving attachments Email Sorting Copy email text by Forwarding message Frequency check settings Keyboard shortcuts

If your thinking that the X is too big you might want to take a look at the Verizon Facinate. I have the TMobile version and really like it. Battery hog, like most smart phones to some extent, but that is easily solved by getting a couple extra batteries and charger(cheap from Hong Kong) and much better than hauling a charger around. Anyway, Here is a good resource for Android stuff so you can do more research.

Someone please tell me this is hype from the right
Dante replied to whateverdude's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't know why any country or organization that hated the US would even think about killing this guy. I'm not even being flippant by saying our guy is doing much more damage than any of them could do. He is a ally not a foe to them. -
Considering who got elected pres last time?

Obama to be interviewed by Ryan Seacrest
Dante replied to 1billsfan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Why should they? They should pay the same percentage as everyone else -
Peyton on his own isn't the difference. Peyton combined with Polian is! Thats my point. Ok, you don't like the guys that were used as examples fine. But it takes more than a great qb to win. Where Polian comes in is that he would have put together and maintained a decent to great Oline to give any qb a chance. Something that hasn't been done here in a while.

Bills have never won anything though. Thats the difference. I guess his bargain pickups were/are better.

Talk about a stretch by the OP. I prefer to look at it this way. He is good enough assembling talent other than high profile picks. They can afford to bif up some pics. How about finding diamonds in the rough? From Colts.com "Gil Brandt of NFL.com recently compiled a list of the top 75 undrafted free agents of all-time. Three current and former Colts were named to the list: center Jeff Saturday, kicker Adam Vinatieri and wide receiver/return specialist Terrence Wilkins." Or "The Colts’ philosophy has long been one of giving undrafted free agents an opportunity to make the roster. The Colts have uncovered some other undrafted free agent gems. Among them, Dominic Rhodes and Gary Brackett." "Rhodes had signed with the Colts after going undrafted in the 2001 draft. He missed the 2002 season with an injury, but battled back to be a key contributor for the Colts from 2003-06 and the 2008 season. Rhodes helped the Colts to a 29-17 victory in Super Bowl XLI by rushing for 113 yards and one touchdown. Brackett joined the Colts in 2003. The Glassboro, N.J., native was a standout college football player at Rutgers, but was not drafted. Brackett made the Colts squad as an undrafted free agent and primarily made his mark on special teams in his first two seasons. In 2005, Brackett won the starting middle linebacker position in training camp and was named the Colts defensive captain in 2006. He has started the last 72 games he has played in and has over 100 tackles in each of the last five seasons. Now entering his eighth season with the Colts, the former college walk-on and undrafted free agent is considered one of the NFL’s premier middle linebackers. This past season, the Colts had nine regular contributors in addition to Brackett, Saturday and Vinatieri that entered the league as undrafted free agents. The team often started two undrafted free agents in its defensive backfield. Melvin Bullitt (12 starts) and Jacob Lacey (nine starts) combined for 160 tackles, three interceptions and 14 passes defensed. Dan Muir (10 starts) and Eric Foster (five starts) were part of a defensive line that allowed only 10 rushing touchdowns all season. And Ramon Humber, Chad Simpson and Jamie Silva all were special teams standouts for the Colts. Simpson was the team’s kickoff returner, and returned one kickoff for a touchdown at Jacksonville, the Colts first touchdown on a kickoff return since Rhodes had an 88-yard touchdown in 2004. Humber and Silva finished first and second, respectively, on the team in special teams tackles, while Kyle DeVan started the final nine games of the season at RG and Gijon Robinson started 10 games in the H-Back role." Just one. Funny how the Colts don't have to depend on big name drafts picks or FA signing to save them. Don't worry. If the Bills get the 1st round pick odds are they are going to f it up anyway cause thats just the way they roll

Scared That Bills Take Ponder With First Pick
Dante replied to box0life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm expecting to be disappointed. Personally, I don't think Ralph has it in him to pay a #1 overall pick if they get it. He will trade down or something to avoid a real hefty contract. Hope I'm wrong. -
I agree with you in general terms. Ultimately, some authority should have known that he always goes up there and stop him. I'm just thinking that maybe the head coach, busy with the team, just wasn't thinking about something as relatively mundane and in the background as the kid filming practice. I'm not trying to be a dick but you would think that the kid would have gone up to the coach and said he felt nervous about going up there. I know I would be. Now if the kid did approach the coaching staff about it and they ordered him up there then that really is bad. I guess either way the school is going to be held accountable I'm sure.

Florida mom kills baby for interrupting Farmville...

Just a guess. Sarcasm from Illinois. Like the death penalty is supposed to prevent every murder. Just saying there is really no way of proving how many the law deters. -

I estimate maybe 10 murders a day are deterred in Florida by the death penalty. Pretty effective policy. -
Ive been kinda disappointed so far this season. I loved the last Coon episode though.
