  1. There was the famous year without a summer, 1816. Then there is the city without a summer: San Francisco and Cleveland. ?
  2. The coldest winter I ever spent was summer in San Francisco.
  3. Yeah... I just generically call it freon. My home unit is still R-12. Don't listen to the BS when they try and sell you a whole new unit, you can still get it reasonably. Even compatible replacement types (my compressor is a genuine Scroll). The units they made in past were built like tanks. Only way I see mine going is catastrophic failure, like the side of the compressor rotting through! LoL...
  4. It's because you're a lush and Genny Screamers are higher alcohol content (krausening). LoL... And it's cheap. Why I bring them back for the one Cubs fan here... He laps it up! Cheap buzz without having to break the bank on fancy dancy brew... Do they still sell the "pounders"... More bang for buck and chase the DTs away! LoL... ?
  5. I would have built a cage around it. In da hood... Gotta have that. Even when I first moved in, the builder didn't have it installed till we moved in. Oh... And report him to the EPA for releasing the freon. Unless, he recovered it?
  6. Germans, Germany scorned AC as being extravagant... But now those bastages are crying... Good, they deserve it! https://www.wsj.com/amp/articles/germany-scorned-air-conditioningthen-it-got-really-hot-11561918952
  7. One car overlapped the other. LoL...
  8. I am gonna jinx it. But my R-12 Rheem central AC has been kicking for 23 years. Lots of love, contactors, etc... But only recharged once, in 2011... Because of the hippy freon phase out. It's a closed system, shouldn't need to be recharged.
  9. Never had one in BFLo growing up. Left 30 years. Heck, first three cars didntr have AC. But gotta have it now. Can you even get a car without AC?
  10. When the bosses aren't here... The hi-viz gets lost. We work 70-75% of all available hours with out middle managers. Dumb, hair brained idea. No way I am wearing hi-viz in Chicago! Like the natives fighting the Red Coats. Safety Office can be really dumb. They don't live in the real world! They push pencils all day! Now... Some guys choose to not break the protocol. I am not being a walking target practice!
  11. Anybody post: Double Live Gonzo! Full Album set! ^^^^^^
  12. If I had a $1,000,000 I'd buy you a nice reliant automobile!
  13. No. I was off @ 0600 yesterday. That's a co-worker. Hi-viz wear is all the rage now! /smh...
  14. I heard this crazy tale! Somebody was telling me they always thought, when they were a child, Gordon Lightfoot was singing: "...Sundown you better take care If I find you been drinkin' my Labatt's beer Sundown ya better take care If I find you been drinkin' my back Labatt's beer..." Now, how would have a 6 year old (1974) gotten a silly idea like that into their head??!! I guess the same way a 51 year old gets silly ideas in his noggin, oh so brilliant melon today!! LMAO... ? Just don't tell @Cripple Creek & @BringBackFergy , "That Guy" (who shall remain nameless) will NEVER hear the end of it... They're, them two, are real rocket surgeons... Almost like pit bull terriers! Better Chick YouTube version: Superman is a cover version, FWIW. If anybody didn't know.
  15. From the annals of the "Lock & Dam Whitetail Deer Cam"... Look closely, zoom in. This ain't no @Cripple Creek or @mead107 FakeNews®! A co-worker sent this to me yesterday. They were locking boats to The Lake when a whitetail deer swam in with the boats... Made it all the way up chamber, 1,000 feet to where the upper lock gates recesses were. If he would have filled it, would have drowned the poor confused deer. They had a jetskier chase them back out and to shore. No deer allowed! USC 33 CFR 207.300. LoL... /smh Hard to get compression to fit in under site rules!
  16. Too bad those Hessians celebrating Christmas were Lutherans. It would have saddened your idol Martin. ?
  17. Now... If you wanna see the real deal. Bookmark this page. This is the USACE-RI "Eagle Cam" among other cams for your perusing and viewing enjoyment! Enjoy! https://www.mvr.usace.army.mil/Media/Web-Cameras/ Eagles are best viewed in winter. Sorry, gotta wait this is live. But there is lock action @ Lock #15 (Rock Island) and Government Bridge excitement. The Government Bridge in R.Island is one of the hand full of bridges in this country that enable a plane, train, car, and boat to all travel over one another: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_Bridge And it's a swing/turntable span: That's some serious, heavy duty .gif action there. Lock, towboat, barge tow, swing bridge... The whole nine yards can be watched live in my link I posted above!
  18. You in cahoots with @Cripple Creek ? I am not falling for it! That was shot on a Hollywood Sound Set. Once @BringBackFergy gets here... He'll prove that is Theodore or Alvin from "The Chipmunks!" We don't tolerate bringing in Hollywood "ringers" here!
  19. Bad humor my friend. Extremely bad humor. LoL... You should be jailed. And NO, I am NOT trying the veal!
  20. I am so close to violating my personal ethos of never reporting anyone... Oh so close! Don't push me! ?
  21. Huh? The 13th star is Rhode Island. LoL... Coastal Elites lost the 2016 election. What a bunch of losers.
  22. Missed nekkid swimming by one year @ West Seneca West Jr. High. I was born 1968. Jr. High was 7th grade... We were the first year of coed swim, 1980... And all girls and boys had to take both I.A. (shop) AND HomeEc. Nope missed it by one year @ West. They went right up to 1979 with nekkid swim. 1980 was coed in West Seneca Schools.
  23. WOW! ^^^^^^^^ Looks like Mead has made glorious patriotic explosion! Way too bougie... I thought we were rebels, not Coastal Elites!
