  1. Google search "animated Niagara Falls". Some came up and if you feel safe enough to download them you got it. Sorry I didn't because just this morning I got spooked with a virus. If I had downloaded the program then I was screwed. Luckily I ran spyware and a virus scan (with a program I have had for six years) and I am fine.
  2. I got my first "stimulus" in my paycheck today. About $27 every two weeks. Doesn't even put gas in my car (as I spend about $40 every two weeks). Thanks Obama!!!!
  3. I work for a county government in Florida. We have to use either sick or or vacation time to see a doctor. And if you hve children it could either be FMLA (which uses your time acumulated) vacation. You don't get it as a perk. It is time I earned b ut people down here complain.
  4. Only jersey I ever bought was Kelly (whom my husband dislikes, he's a Reich fan). Still have and did wear it on the day he was inducted in the Hall of Fame (thank god for A/C) because I live in Florida and the jersey is heavy and very hot. To date haven't found another one that I wanted.
  5. Depends on Peters run blocking (ha ha) and whether or not he isn't suspended for any great lenght.
  6. AMEN!!!!! He played like crap last year. He still has 3 years left on his contract! Make him prove he's even worth what they did offer him. At the bottom of sacks allowed and he wants a raise.
  7. I live in Florida and was already wearing a Bills T-shirt when I heard about it on the news. Jury is out still as to whether or not I freel it was a good or bad move.
  8. Try taking a bus. A ten hour drive. Stay overnight and go to the game on Sunday. Then you lose and head back to Buffalo right after the game. Don't arrive back in Buffalo until 2:00 a.m. We owned a business at that time and had to be there before 8:00 a.m. to start cooking the lunch special and open the business.
  9. I live just south of where their boat left from. This has been major news down here. Even after the Coast Guard stopped their search some private boaters went out. But after hearing what the survivor said, I find it hard to believe that the other three will be found. The waters down here are cold (by Florida standards) and hypothermia will set in even if the waters are warmer than the air. This past cold front did bring some very chilling winds and temperatures near freezing here in central Florida. My thoughts and prayers go to the families and I thank God for the survival of at least one.
  10. If I was still in Buffalo I would definitely go the the Bucs game. I now live south of Tampa (about 45 minutes). First the Bucs have never been to Buffalo. Second this team is is just as much or more turmoil than Buffalo. They have a new coach (firing Chuckie), have cut some of their big name players. Still confused who is going to be their quarterback as of today (want to have four when camp starts). This miight be a winnable game if Edwards and Lynch had a good day, and if maybe a wide receiver would catch some as they have cut some of their experienced defensive backfield.
  11. I bought my season tickets just two days after the Bills signed Jim Kelly. Had them through the Super Bowl years (even though they didn't win). We gave them up after the 1993 season because of the business we had at that time. A year later we sold the business and moved to Florida. Last year was hard because they started out winning and so completely fell apart. So many people posting here were touting Edwards as the next savior. He was going to lead us to greatness. I had people here in Florida tell me that Buffalo was a team to watch. Then he got injured and did not play well most of the rest of the season but people kept making excuses. Jason Peters held out and when he came back he played terrible and never played to the caliber that he did the previous year. (The only player I ever saw who could hold out and still come back and play great was Bruce Smith.) Lynch had some good days and bad days and when he had bad days people called for him to be replaced by Freddie Jackson. Our defensive line never had a good, consistent pass rush, blitzes were called so sporadically that I felt they weren't in the Bills playbook. We have no stars on who to build a team around like they did when they built a defense around Bruce Smith or after getting Kelly, they designed plays around his capabilities. You have to admit that Marchibroda's "no-huddle" suited him for a time. We had a running back in Thurman Thomas who led the league in total yards from scrimmage (for what, 5 years). Maybe Wilson is getting too old, but I also remember before the early 1990's he was criticized for not spending money just as he is now. I do credit him with one very important thing in my mind. He has been the only owner that the Buffalo Bills have had and he has kept them in Buffalo for 50 years even though he is not from the area. Yes, there have been concessions over the years from the local government and tax payers, but the team has generated income to businesses in the Buffalo area over the year because of out-of-towners coming to see their teams play there and from the locals who went to the games, bought the souvenirs and apparel or even who went to the establishments like the one my husband and I owned to watch games on TV. Sorry if I got of tangant from the main topic.
  12. There was. You had to write in or phone in for a coupon for money off on a converter box. I believe the discount was somewhere around $40.
  13. I agree. The money didn't go where it was hoped. It was used to pay bills not buy goods. Buying goods and services stimulates the economy, not getting out of debt. The same will happen again.
  14. Yes, hurricanes could be the reason. But are they doing this in Texas? Louisana? South and North Carolina? Alabama? All these states (and others) have been hit by hurricanes and tropical storms. In 2008, Buffalo NY had stronger winds from the remnants of Ike than Florida had when it passed by us. It seems that everybody singles out Florida. A 47% increase is excessive especially when you realize that the values of the homes have dropped drastically here. And what about the excessive numbers of tornados in the midwest last year? Shouldn't that count for something? What about the mudslides and wildfires in California? The damages in Texas? Are they asking for the same kind of increase there? In 2008 Florida only had two distaster declarations. Missouri had 6, Arkansas had 5, several states had 3 including Vermont. So you can't blame just hurricanes in Florida for the cost of insurance. When you get to fire, Califorinia had 16 fires that caused major impacts. What ever you say I still believe an almost 50% increase is excessive anywhere and should be turned down.
  15. As confusing as this is, what I think is worse is giving banks money, they didn't account for it (where it was going), still won't lend money, and then some asked for more.
  16. Been on this site before. Also won a bet using info from this site with a guy who thought he knew everything about the AFL.
  17. I'm in Bradenton, FL, which is almost 1,300 miles. I don't think anybody is going to beat the guy in Australia.
  18. Hey, Ahmad played alright for us for a couple years right?
  19. What really amazes me is that a football player actually goes to and likes hockey!!
  20. Kelly retired at the right time for him. Remember he got beat up pretty bad in the USFL (sacks) before he even came to the NFL. He got hit lot . He had some injuries in the NFL. His last season was not great but he gave major effort. He decided it was time to devote to family and other things which included the charity that sprouted out of his son's illness. He has been a major advocate for testing of babies for various disesaes (which only takes a little pin prick in their heel). For someone who came out of college and didn't want to play in Buffalo he has done the city proud. He lives in the suburbs and supports Buffalo 100%. Brett Favre has become a joke.
  21. Good call. Especially now that they came out with that Trent has a "sore shoulder"!!!!
  22. Amen. He also spoke avidly for the small market teams. Nobody else did. Before anybody jumps on me about the small market team, the population in Buffalo and surrounding areas does not compare to NYC or LA or Chicago or Dallas or ....
  23. Phil Hanson was a very solid player. Low keyed, he complimented Bruce Smith.
  24. Why re-do his contract? Doesn't he still have a couple years on his contract? He held out and played terrible when he came back. The only player I knew who could hold out and still play good when he came back was Bruce Smith. Peters does not compare.
  25. 51. Been seriously watching the Bills since the late 60's (even though watched an occasional game before that). Had season tickets from 1988-1993. Moved but still watch them. I'm holding judgment until I see what happens in the off season.
