I forgot to mention regarding the Oyster Card, I bought mine at Paddington Station. I believe that they are available at all (or most) stations and probably at Heathrow itself. There are people who work for British transport at these stations and are extremely helpful. The woman who helped me walked me through how to get the card, put money on it with my credit card, and how to use it.

If La'el Collins drops do Bills take him?
Peter replied to ALLEN1QB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apparently, the FSU police are not investigating this one. -
A couple of tips: If you fly into Heathrow, you can take the Heathrow express to Paddington Station. You can buy a ticket online or right at Heathrow. If you buy a ticket for the Heathrow express, you should also buy your return ticket as well because it is cheaper. Another option (which is cheaper but not as fast), is to take the tube. If you are going to travel on the tube (either from Heathrow or traveling around London), I recommend buying an "Oyster Card." It costs five pounds, but it makes it easier to travel around the tube. All you have to do is tap in when you enter a station and tap out. Of course, you will have to keep enough pounds on the card to pay for your travel. I believe that you can return the card and get whatever money you have on the card (including possibly the initial five pounds but I am not sure). I go to London now and again because my wife's family is from Europe so I just keep my Oyster Card with my passport. I also recommend that you go to a soccer game while you are there. I am an Arsenal supporter and certainly would recommend seeing Arsenal. There are plenty of other teams in London as well. Even if you do not like soccer, I think that you would get a kick out of the atmosphere. The EPL schedule comes out in June usually. I am hoping that Arsenal has a game that weekend that does not conflict with the Bills game so that I can go to both. Of course, there are plenty of other things to do in London no matter what your interests are. Great idea.

Did anyone else buy tickets for London Game today?
Peter replied to theesir's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The tickets went on sale on the UK Ticketmaster back in January. I had to register for that site in order to buy the tickets. Sometime back then I heard that they were going on sale. I had asked my season ticket rep sometime before then whether the Bills would have something special for season ticket holders (e.g., advance or priority sales), but it did not appear that they would at the time. -

It is not cheap and my wife thinks that I am crazy, but I am looking forward to going. I am hoping to be able go to an Arsenal game while I am there as well. I am hoping when the EPL schedule comes out that Arsenal is playing at a time that does not conflict with the Bills game so that I can go to both games. -
Bring Back Spikes--edit signed with ne***

The good news is that, when responding to questions about Brandon Spikes not being around, Preston Brown seemed to insert the phrase "right now" in each of his answers. -

I bought mine a few months ago when they went on sale. Given what they had available to season ticket holders (when I checked after receiving my season ticket holder e-mail), I am glad that I did not wait. -
LeBron was a great high school football player. If Jimmy Graham could go back to football after finishing his college basketball eligibility, I have little doubt LeBron could. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5360552 http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/03/sports/basketball/03james.html?pagewanted=all

LeBron could be an NFL tight end in a relatively short time.

In case this has not been posted yet, the UB engineers did not take long in analyzing the 2015 schedule: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/which-nfl-teams-got-unfair-schedules--university-of-buffalo-engineers-know-170455822.html

MarQueis Gray helps throw an unforgettable birthday party
Peter replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
These kind of stories about kids break my heart. On the other hand, the reaction to the mother's plea (from MarQueis, Charles Johnson, and others) is heart warming. -

Jameis Winston sued for sexual assault 2 weeks before draft
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I did not like the kid before yesterday, but I thought he did not come across well at all with Harbaugh -- and Harbaugh was giving him a big time pass. What he did not bring up (the alleged sexual assault and the crab legs), laughing at his high school coach, and how he talked about the few things that he did discuss made me question the kid even more. I know some of you are in love with this kid, but if you were an owner or a GM, how many of you would actually pick this kid knowing what you know about him . . . not to mention the QBASE analysis from yesterday indicating there are big questions about whether he is even that good an NFL prospect: http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft2015/insider/story/_/id/12715733/football-outsiders-projection-system-thinks-jameis-winston-bust-2015-nfl-draft He may end up being everything his proponents claim he will be, but is he worth the risk/reward ratio? Once he has millions of dollars in his pocket is he more or less likely to feel entitled and that he can do whatever he wants. I want nothing to do with this kid. If he ends up being a model citizen and great QB, good for him. I just don't see it. -
Sadly, this is the year that we visit my wife's family for Christmas - in other words, I will miss being able to go to the Cowboys and Jets.
-
We may as well start the season 3-0. Go Bills!
-
My guess is that those guys at UB were not consulted about the Bills schedule.
-
Regarding prime time games at home, I have taken the approach to no longer expect them. That way, I will not be disappointed (at least not because of that).

The Bills and Jets play on a Thursday with the Bills having the short week, but the Jets having 11 days off because of their bye. Did Woody Johnson come up with this?

Whaley interview on WGR: "Make or break year for EJ"

I agree. EJ is a great kid. It is easy to root for him. I hope he does well. -
Whaley interview on WGR: "Make or break year for EJ"
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. In my opinion, there is a very good chance that the Bills are able to draft a guard (for example) in the second round that can come in and play right away. If that is the case, it would seem to me that there is a lot more value (both in terms of the draft pick and the success of the team this coming season) to do something like that. Just my two cents. -
Whaley interview on WGR: "Make or break year for EJ"
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just to provide some context, as I recall from listening this morning, those words were in the question. Again, if I recall correctly, the answer was something along the lines of EJ would say that himself. This may not mean anything or it may mean a lot. It is worth noting that DW also said that they are by no means giving up on EJ and do believe in him. Time will tell. As an aside, most of the time, I like Howard, but there are times when he interrupts his guest or tries to push his own narrative. When DW was beginning to give his answer about drafting BPA v. need and how close the two players would have to be, Howard interrupted him a couple of times mid sentence. I wanted to hear what DW had to say about this and not Howard's interjection. Just my two cents. -

Jameis Winston sued for sexual assault 2 weeks before draft
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The $15,000 is a jurisdictional allegation. Without reading the complaint, it the practice in Florida to allege that the damages exceed the jurisdictional limits of the circuit court (as opposed to county court). I am sure that she will be seeking more than 15k. "Mr. Winston" no longer has the option not to testify. As an aside, as PFT pointed out, one of the more interesting things about her recent filing is that it refers to another woman who complained about JW. That will be interesting. -
Tim Graham interview with CJ Spiller
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
CJ always has been a class act and great teammate. He loved playing for the Bills and in Buffalo. He and Fred always got along great, and all of the other players loved him. I never understood some of the posters on this board who seemed to enjoy spewing vitriol his way -- especially those who claimed he had no "heart." Nothing could be further from the truth. Let me preface my following comment by emphasizing that I love Rex and the direction of this team. I also love Shady. Nevertheless, the question at the end of the day will be whether the Bills will be better with Shady and his cap hit or with both CJ and Kiko and their respective cap hits. Time will tell. In any event, I will be rooting for the Bills and Shady, but also wish CJ all the best in NO (and am glad that he did not go to the Jets or another AFC East or AFC team). -

That would seem to be the intent behind the timing.
