  1. "When you pull on that jersey, the name on the front is a hell of alot more important than the one on the back." -Herb Brooks
  2. Marcus Price was a great pickup for us. He's a very good flip tackle and may start next year when JJ walks. He's also 32, a sixth rounder, and has started fewer NFL games than MW. I believe the slight possible increase of production at RT would be offset by the loss of chemistry which is why JMac didn't mess with the line in the pre season. (or maybe it was forced on him- I don't know) Depth at both tackles is also a big concern.
  3. I'm with MDH. Let me paraphrase, 1) Plug in the journeyman player over the #4 pick 2) Ask a Pro Bowler to change positions 3) Bench a perennial All Pro who played great last week 4) Throw the ill prepared rookie into the fire. Injuries aside, we've already made 3 roster adjustments this season. PP/Wire, Evans/Reed and WM/TH. They were at different times but overall, we were 0-4 and 2-1 since the changes. I'll give it a couple games before I'd make another move.
  4. If Wayne Chrebet made him look bad, I shudder to think what Moss would do to him. He's a good returner and could be a great nickel back.
  5. My first thought was Gale Sayers so I'll stick with him. He made it look effortless. Brown was a man amongst boys. Argubably, the greatest back ever. Sweetness had it all.
  6. Astro's are crippled by their starting rotation. BoSox are on the ropes. "No Talent" Yankees beat the Cards in The Series 4-2. .
  7. If we played the Cards or Bears this weekend, on a neutral field with no line, you would bet cash money on our opponent? The BCS is wrong. Strength of schedule and margin of victory matter.
  8. At first, this move surprised me a little but the more I think about it the more it makes sense. Whether it was TD or MM, the owner calls out our offense. Who's the sacrificial lamb? Depth concerns and upside rule out almost everyone. If the message was "vets aren't immune, WR's have to catch, blown assignments will get you canned"? Bobby Shaw was the perfect choice.
  9. And I will watch every painstaking minute of it.
  10. I hope not. He's not top five but it would be interesting to see his #'s if he played with Culpepper, Manning or McNabb. TO and Ty Law think he's pretty good.
  11. A STARTER for FIVE more seasons? He will have to immediately turn it around to be a starter for one more season. I wonder what the Vegas line is? Cause I'm about to double my net worth.
  12. 1. Cowbell 2. "More Cowbell" is a SNL skit featuring Christopher Walken 3. Christopher Walken is famed for his Russian Roulette scene in Apocalypse Now 4. I would rather play Russian Roulette than root for the Miami Dolphins. 5. I hate the Miami Dolphins.
  13. The saddest thing is that you can still pay to see some of these bands. 10 years ago? Maybe. Aerosmith- Just because they are still alive and performing doesn't give them a free pass. They still sell CD's because of their crappy video ballads and Liv's lips. Metallica- possibly America's greatest metal band. Where would they be without KISS? Van Halen- VHI, VHII and Standing Hampton were great records. 2 words. Yankee Rose. Nirvana- arguably the best grunge band but a very small collection. Personally, I prefer Pearl Jam. Skynyrd- beats Allman's by a nose in southern rock genre. If "mainstream" is what you want the Eagles are it. In England, the equivalent choices would be: Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, The Who, Sex Pistols, Led Zeppelin and the Beatles.
  14. "I think Jennings has TD by the balls if he can stay healthy this year."
  15. Sadly, Gen Y won't get your Veruca Salt analogy but it's a good one.
  16. 3rd rounder who has developed into adequate LT Injury prone Will be overpaid in FA at perceived "need" position I'd resign a dominant DT (PW) for 2 years over a mediocre LT for 4 years.
  17. Manning, Rivers and Roth have not won a starting job yet. None of these guys had a broken leg, yet Losman should be starting when he returns? NFW JP will get his reps in practice and maybe some mop up duty in the last quarter of the season.
  18. Until Lawyer comes back, PP should be our FS on obvious passing downs. Now that McGee and NC are our starting corners, I'd use different returners till TV is back. Our standard set should be 3 wide which puts another playmaker (Evans) on the field. Attach a shock collar to DB's 4 second clock. Give Sam Wyche a collar for MM when he calls the naked bootleg, neglects to call a challenge, etc. Since it takes DB 2 seconds to drop back, use some shotgun formations. Set up a big video screen in the locker room that plays loops. Example, Fletcher's PF, then the ensuing score, then a shot of the coach, and fans. Repeat. Same for dancers. A big stop on second down? Show a clip of dancer getting beat later in the series. Then show his dance move again. Run it all week. Fire the guy that makes the call in the booth on challenges or get him some training re game situations. Ex. TV timeout, NE hurry up, Raiders 4 & 1. I also agree with Obi Wan. Supposedly, the O is simpler. Yet TH, DB, and Moulds have all run the wrong play. Fewer plays= less confusion and more confidence. Run the ball. 23 attempts per game for TH sounds good until you realize that he will fall down, be tripped or run the wrong way at least once a game. Edge gets 21 in a pass happy offense, LT gets 21 behind a worse line and gets alot of receptions, "Old" Curtis Martin gets 28 a game. Replacing Bledsoe or shifting the OL is not the right move at this time.
  19. I agree with Orange. Eagles can load up on the run against a backup QB with a sub par WR corps. If Urlacher can't go, the Iggles could win by 25.
  20. Dell has a brand new 2.4 P4 box with 40 GB and a 17" monitor, dual CD drive, mouse and keyboard for $399. You "think" it's toast? Depending on your issues, a $50 part may solve the problem.
  21. Our D is top notch and could have won either of our first two games with one play. Even if they provide 10 points, I will surprised if the offense can generate 3 TD's since they haven't earned one in the first 2 games. The Bills can win a low scoring battle in the 4th but it will probably take a game winning TD drive or Lindell making one from 45+.
  22. Can we stay out of 3rd and long while stopping them on 3rd down? No Can we win the turnover battle? Yes Will we finally avoid the costly penalties? Yes 2 out of 3 ain't bad Bills 24 Pats 17
  23. Since the competition is 2 injured guys, an NFL Europe player and Shane "Falco" Matthews, I'm goin' with Drew v. the Patsies.
