  1. While I certainly appreciate Fred Jackson, the fact is he will be paid a minimum of nearly $1.4 MILLION dollars for 3 years work after coming from a D-III school, arena ball and NFL Europe. I'd offer more like a million a year and a million SB which is a huge raise and gives him some security. Buckhalter made $1M this year and he would be paid more than other change of pace guys like MJD, JJ Arrington, Jerious Norwood etc. Guys like Lynch, McFadden and AP are currently earning $2.5 M.
  2. Stroud and Dockery were both "big" FA signings, literally and financially.
  3. As a Gator fan, I find this talk interesting but premature. Tebow ought to return to UF and hire a NFL tutor to improve his release and footwork. Both JP and RJ had the size and athleticism but not the intangibles that Tebow brings. It's unlikely he will be an all pro QB at the next level but his production is unquestioned. Given our needs at backup QB, HB, FB and TE, I would take a chance on him in the 3rd round. Being on the field for 10-15 snaps per game would be solid production from a 3rd round pick. Of course, DJ is too conservative to use him effectively so the point is moot. He will likely win another Heisman and NC next year and the conversation will be the same.
  4. So what's your point? You compare him to two of the all time biggest top ten busts at QB ( both top 10 picks) , a 7th round pick, a Heisman trophy winner who was so horrible he had to play 10 years in the NBA just to make a living and our last two QB's who were losers in college. Tebow in the 3rd? Short yardage- check. Wildcat-check. Are we weak at TE/HB/FB? Check. #3 QB-check. After starting at LB as a freshman in HS, Tebow could probably play backup SAM as well. Just maybe the 2 time Mr. FL football, Heisman trophy winner could be an asset. DAWG.
  5. One stupid play call. One clock mismanagement. One fumble. One missed block. We could be 11 and 5. Stats give an indication but it's a game of inches and seconds.
  6. I would work in Newark for a couple years if the incentive was an extra million per year. Wouldn't you?
  7. Hope these guys make a significant leap. TE-Improved QB play Fine-Improved production at TE Hardy- Solid WR core Preston- Improves OL Poz/Simpson/McKelvin- potential impact players One free agent starter and one rookie draft pick who is a full time starter from day one. (One of these should replace Ellison) No injuries and a few breaks. Hey, it could happen.
  8. Not very well, as you know. I would love to hear about the Alabama QB sucess stories during the same time frame.
  9. Personally, I could give rats A&^ but I believe I read today that W has pardoned about half as many as Clinton did. FWIW. I guess that could mean "handing out pardons" if you meant to totally mislead your audience.
  10. We traded a 3 and 5 for former pro bowl DT Marcus Stroud. We would be lucky to get a 4 for Roscoe. Possibly game changing #4 WR and league leading PR for a backup player. NFW.
  11. Gas rationing, unrest in the Middle East, high mileage foreign cars. I recognized these issues as a fifth grader in the 70's. I have no sympathy for the Big 3. When Henry Ford introduced the Model T, all the good blacksmiths kept their jobs. The crappy ones had to learn a new trade.
  12. According to CBS sports, he is currently ranked 12th which puts him in the upper half of number one receivers. Given his QB's, he's legit enough. Keyshawn was a possession guy, Chris Carter only caught touchdowns. 3 catches is enough if one of them is a 50 yd. TD.
  13. If the Bills win and Hardy catches 4 balls including a TD and crucial 3rd down, he could be a hero. No way he catches 9, given his track record.
  14. I'd trade him for McFadden in heartbeat. Game changers are harder to find than workhorses.
  15. I'm with Simon. Lee's good but the 3rd highest paid WR in the NFL? I guess this is the upside of playing in Toronto.
  16. Is it just me or did the Oakland defense play better than expected?
  17. No. I think this team is capable of winning a playoff game. They should improve immensely over the season.
  18. I heard someone say once, "he could play almost any position" at the college level. I wouldn't draft him but he's a freak.
  19. Given QB's and LT's are the two most valuable positions, it has to be Peters. OTOH RB is one of the most easily replaced yet losing Lynch would be disastrous for our season.
  20. Since the draft, there's not that many holes in the roster anymore. I doubt we could get enough real value out of trading any of these guys. Sure, we could use an All Pro but Evans is the only one worthy and that would leave us with a gaping hole at #1 WR. Roscoe is replacable with Reed and McKelvin on the roster. However, I wouldn't trade a game changer for a flip tackle.
  21. I'm all for it. He's going to sign for much less than his current contract. JP becomes trade bait when someone gets injured in training camp giving us another draft pick or replacing the one we use to get Brett. TE would be ok with it. He's a smart guy and there's little humiliation being replaced by a future HOF'er. Just the value of Favre mentoring Trent might make this seem reasonable. IF: Favre signs, Stroud is solid, Ko comes back strong, Hardy contributes and no major injuries. We are playoff bound. Fo' Real!
  22. I was nine which makes it 76 or 77. Definitely Ferguson/Cribbs. Cold. Patriots with Tony Eason. I don't remember much but it was obviously a defining moment. Most things don't last 30 years
  23. We rented with CruiseAmerica and had a blast. My only suggestion is to bring everything you might need as the RV comes barebones.
