Jay Glazer Comments about Merriman
Mike In Illinois replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tim Graham seems to think the Bills could get a compensatory pick for Merriman next year: "And if Merriman does leave via free agency, then the Bills likely would receive a compensatory draft pick dependent upon the size of the contract he signs and any additional guidelines set forth in the new collective bargaining agreement. Maybe the Bills get a fourth- or fifth-round pick out of the experience." Link to full article. -
What makes this waiver different than Gibson? I thought we were further down the list for Gibson but first for Moss?

I think it'll be tough for a team to bring in a guy who has seemingly mailed it in. He burned bridges in Minnesota (twice), Oakland and New England. He didn't realize how good he had it in Foxboro until he lined up against them. Then he decides to badmouth his teammates- Favre who'd been clamoring for him to join him for a few years- and his head coach. Minnesota is quickly chasing down Dallas as leaders for Team Turmoil 2010, and both are making our on-field mess look like the '72 Dolphins.

His post-game comments: Interesting stuff in bold type.

So they covered Who's Next which is possibly the best album the band released (my opinion). I've not heard much Gov't. Mule but I have heard a couple of their Zeppelin covers while listening to Sirius' Ch. 17 (Jam channel) and I was impressed with them. So how was the first set?

Maybe the football gods are smiling on us

I don't think all 53 players and the coaches are tanking games to earn high draft picks. If the (better) players mail it in they may be looking for a job elsewhere next spring. Of course they may feel that's not a bad thing, landing with a new team. However, I have to think many of these players want to be here to see this situation turn around completely. It would probably be that much more rewarding to those who stick it out when we win the Super Bowl. (Wouldn't that make a nice pre-game feature in the future? A story on the core group of Bills that suffered through these years and are now on the cusp of winning the franchise's first NFL World Championship? They could reference the lean years by showing Eddie Robinson getting 'deked' and LB Chris Kelsay getting spun around like a top.) -

GDT: Buffalo Bills @ Kansas City (1PM ET)
Mike In Illinois replied to buffalo1983's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did I see it on CBS where this game was pushed back to 4:05pm ET? I saw that on the San Diego/Pats* game- is that right? -
Gabbert will do well in the NFL as a QB just like Brad Smith and Chase Daniel. Most of the quarterbacks from a spread-offense in college do not transfer well into the NFL. I'd pass on Gabbert.

Enjoy that Steelers game!!!! Seriously, have fun up there. I got to road trip with my wife from our home in Illinois up to Buffalo in 2007. We stopped and stayed with friends in Columbus, OH; went to Cleveland for the Christmas Story House and the Rock 'n' Roll HOF. Then we had a Saturday drive up to Buffalo and took in the sites at Niagara Falls. The next day we saw the Bills beat the Jests in the first start for our ex-QB: Oh, the optimism! My only regret, if you call it that, was not being able to take in more sites while in Buffalo. I definitely plan to venture up to Buffalo and partake in some of the traditions.

I have AHS as it was thrown in as part of closing. I don't have any problem with them as I'm having issues with my furnace and they are helping me and checking in on the status of the problem often. We had a home inspection and nothing turned up at that point. Upon further inspection, the furnace is in such bad shape (doesn't work at all) I have to have it replaced. The seller of our home had to know how bad the furnace was (according to the HVAC guys) they think he threw in the one-year warranty to keep us off his back about the bad furnace. It'll cost us $400 to put a new one in but it has to be done. Cannot let the family freeze, y'know! Good luck with finding a new warranty company.

Brett Favre might be in some hot water...

Deadspin has been discussing this 'incident' for a month or two. This could be very damaging if it's true. -
Where does the blackout area end?

I worked at a TV station as stations were preparing to go digital. What I understood was the digital signal is more cut-and-dry; in the past you may have been able to pick up a faint analog signal from a distant station (lots of static, poor audio); the signal would slowly lose it's strength as it moved away from the transmitter. The digital signal doesn't have a slow depletion anymore. It will drop off as if it's fallen off a table (that's the best way I can describe it). A visual example. -

Mike Leach has a take on QB's coming out
Mike In Illinois replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is my concern with Mallett too. We really need to solidify our o-line, especially if we have a rookie QB who does not have the quickness to avoid the rush. I'm not suggesting he has to have wheels like a Steve Young or Donovan McNabb, but he has to have some mobility to step up and avoid the rush. If Mallett is like a young Bledsoe then I am not so sure I want him. I am leaning to Andrew Luck right now, but I don't have the knowledge to know if he's the best college QB for the Bills. -

What about LaserDisc? Were they released on this format? -
Stupar (or Stooper if you go by Kevin Harlequin's pronunciation) caught three passes for 27 yards. Also, Harlan kept referring to WR David Nelson as a Tight End, obviously confusing him with suspended TE Shawn Nelson.
