I hear what you're saying. But, a coaches job is to win. Sometimes at all cost. Sitting Fitz doesn't really admit anything, other than were not winning and he makes a change. Gailey cannot go home at night after 2+ years of mostly sub-par play from this back up chump and think "I think this is the week Ryan turns the corner". Impossible.
