Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy on Jake Fromm
TwistofFate replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I posted the exact throw Nagy was talking about on the first page. 18-19 yard out from the opposite hash mark on a rope and on time. He made it pretty easily and that is about as tough as it gets. -

What does Peterman have to do with Fromm? I can show TONS of highlights of Josh Allen not even able to hit the broad side of a barn, so who cares about his arm strength? How many deep passes and outs did Allen wiff on this past year? TONS. He was one of the worst passers in the NFL, that is a fact. I'm not even close to sold on Allen, as every single in depth, meaningful statistic shows he is going to fail. -

For now....we will revisit that comment at the end of this season. By that time it may very well be Fromm's team. -

Rd 5, Pick 167: QB Jake Fromm, Georgia
TwistofFate replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's the insurance policy. I don't care that he went in the 5th. He was never meant to drop to the 5th. We know this much because our GM stated it clearly. Hasselbeck, Gannon, Brunell, Bulger, Johnson, yea late rounders are more than capable, especially when they dropped in the draft, they fit your system, and you have no real answer if your current Qb flounders. Fromm will be on the team and most likely 2 by the start of the season. -
Rd 5, Pick 167: QB Jake Fromm, Georgia
TwistofFate replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fromm is the perfect Qb to fit Dabolls system. He has the entire skill set to run the offense exactly how the Bills intended. This offense was designed around the West Coast from day one with Dennison, and moved into a different version of it, Earhart-Perkins, with Daboll. Daboll has tailored his offense around Allen, but Fromm is actually tailor made to naturally run this offense. You people just don't get it yet. OBD is not sold on Allen. Its been a wait and see game and if he doesn't get it done this year they are prepping for the future. Fromm is the insurance policy. -
He had over 4k yards passing and 24 Tds at 42 years old and nothing on offense besides an Edleman. Now he has Gronk and two of the best Wrs in the game. Brady will throw for 5k yards this year and 40+ tds...at 43

No, not even close. Apparently you don't remember how Brady carved us up effortlessly the last time we played him.
-
I think he lands in Pittsburgh, 1 year deal behibd Roethlisberger. Roethlisberger simply can't make it through a 16 game season. He's only made it through 4 times in his whole career. Dalton is familiar with the division and would love the chance to make the Bengals pay. Ps, i don't think anyone wants to play for New England without Brady. Brady was NE, not Belichick. Players arent going to just throw themselves at NE like they used to.

This has been hashed out already. Allen was the weakest link. The offense stunk it up in most of those losses. The defense finished near the top of the league, the offense near the bottom. With the additional players we added this off-season and the hope Allen takes a big step, we are more than primed to make a big splash this season. It all rides on Allen, he will make us or break us.

Favorite side notes..... "The most interesting part of his breakdown on the draft is with regard to quarterback Jake Fromm, whom Schofield believes could have a great deal of success in the timing/West Coast portion of offensive coordinator Brian Daboll’s playbook. While he doesn’t say it outright, he seems to view Fromm as more than a backup if Allen is to fail, going as far as to call it “a storyline worth watching.” While I disagree, stranger things have certainly happened." “It’s impossible to look at Buffalo’s roster and not see it as the strongest in the AFC East — by a substantial margin.” “Buffalo should rule the AFC East with the Patriots finally moving on from Brady and also be a bigger factor in the playoffs.”

I came away from season one feeling like Tate and his sister had a little too close of a relationship...... Could just be me....

Im just speaking on people outside the fan base. -
Rodgers comes from the Tedfordian system. Lafeur comes from the shanahan-mcvay coaching tree which relies on under center, run heavy play action. That's exactly the opposite of what Rodgers has done the entirety of his career. On top of that, Rodgers has fallen off the last few years and has been quite the problem within Green Bay...sooo much so he has been warned by the GM to not cause problems with the new coach. Truth be told, Rodgers has spent the majority of his career with high talent players, playing within a system he was accustomed to. Now that he doesn't have high level talent all around him, he's dropped off pretty substantially.

Scenario 2: Trading/Cutting Rodgers in early 2021 Things get a little more interesting next season. Rodgers counts for $36.35 million on the salary cap while playing on a $22 million salary. Rodgers also has a $6.8 million roster bonus that is due by the third day of free agency so any move would need to be made before that. It basically gives them an official two day window to execute a trade. This is still not a cheap option. Both moves would cost the team $31.556 million in cap dollars though that would free up around $4.8 million in cap space. If they wait until after the roster bonus is paid however the dead money jumps by $6.8M meaning he will remain on the team. If the NFL is seriously impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak there may be some logic in freeing up cap room and bailing on a high salary for the year, though you would think QB would be the last position teams look at for that. Provided teams do not get into a cost protection mode next year Rodgers would definitely have big trade value because his salary average is currently at $24.3M for the three years. This is likely the optimum trade year for the Packers but the cost is high so they would need to be blown away by an offer. https://overthecap.com/the-packers-options-with-aaron-rodgers/ Rodgers is not Lafleur's guy. He doesn't fit his system, and there is no reason to MOVE UP in the draft to grab a QB in the first if you plan on keeping Rodgers around for the next 3 years. Rodgers's hanging on the bench for years back in the day doesnt happen in today's NFL. 1st round picks are off the bench within a year. No first round pick is sitting the bench for 3 years in today's NFL, let alone a guy you traded up for.

Healthy Skepticism for This Year's Draft Class...
TwistofFate replied to glazeduck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Think Kelvin Benjamin. They want a big reciever to fit one of them Wr roles, that is their identity. That player now, is Davis. Double move, down field, mismatched against everyone TD or big play. As far as the running game they want both styles. Imagine this. 3rd and two, Motor in the backfield. How much respect do you have for the run game? Now ask yourself the same question with Moss in there. Demanding respect for that run just opened up a whole lot of opportunities and mismatches. 5th round on was value and depth IMO. As far as Epenesa, he fits the scheme. "Oliver became one of the most efficient pass rushing tackles in the league during the second half of the 2019 season. He finished the year with five sacks, and the rookie had the seventh-highest pass rush win rate of any interior lineman. Now to add next to Oliver and replace Phillips, the Bills bring in Jefferson, who, in his prime at 27-years-old, is coming off an extremely productive season where he finished with the fifth-highest pass rush win rate of all defensive tackles. The Bills now have two of the seven most-efficient pass rushers on the inside. They compliment that with Butler, who is also coming off a career-year in 2019 with six sacks of his own. Quarterbacks hate pressure up the middle, and there might only be a few teams that will generate it on a more consistent basis than Buffalo in 2020."
