  1. My last house had a septic tank. When the toilet started having problems I moved.
  2. The only thing I know about South America is that you don't drink the water. ...and that things crawl up stuff when you're swimming.
  3. Sewage and garbage. $20 for trash pickup service and $10 fee for recycling whether you do it or not. $5.25 if you take it to dump yourself, but you're not allowed to opt out of the service anyway. If the bin is too close to cars, facing the wrong way, the Bills lost, etc, then they could skip your house. I think it's $10 if you call for a special pickup, but I haven't used that service.
  4. I bought 5 color LED flood lights for Christmas and it was so expensive that I didn't buy any other decorations. They've gone down in price but still prohibitive to buy more than a few at a time. I've also started using them for landscape lighting. I wonder how the neighbors feel about having only one tree lit up. It looks creepy at night. I didn't have problems with moisture as far as I could tell. I still have stockpiles of the old incand... and CFL's... don't know what to do with them.
  5. My Coworker went on a spa weekend with his wife and a few friends. One of the friends was a tranny. He refused to refer to him as anything but a "he." He warned his wife he would do it too. His wife made him go home after the first day. He played Xbox the rest of the weekend.
  6. I'm actually concerned about computer security getting progressively worse.
  7. I bought 2 LED bulbs a month for a year. Then replaced bulbs as they burned out. Half the house is LED now. Including ALL outside lighting. The bedrooms are the only holdouts.
  8. It has nothing to do with the CGI. Hollywood is trying to come up with a formula, when there is only one thing audiences want: To Be Entertained. If CGI was the problem, then animated movies would still be hand drawn. No one cares about the effects. They spent 3 movies trying to re-do Yoda and no one noticed because the story (and acting) sucked. It's not about superheroes.
  9. I did this several times in my 20's. I finally figured out that all jobs suck. So I decided to keep the job that paid the most over the long haul.
  10. Despite the record cold temperatures, I predict that we will still be on pace for the hottest year on record. (like they've announced every year after "adjustments")
  11. I want to see a Transgender player dominate the WNBA.
  12. I like sleeping with a comforter all year. I use two during winter. What's even more insane is that I have a portable A/C unit in my bedroom for added cooling on top of the house AC.
  13. I guess we're supposed to be outraged because people are trying to keep the government from confiscating more of their money. Like they don't have a right to their wealth or something.... Pay your fair share so I can get more free $%#@!
  14. I never understood why health class only included stuff about my gender. I'm living it. I don't need you pointing it out. I wanted to know about the other stuff. Here's the weird part about the anti-"anti-discrimination" movement; you can identify as a girl, so you'll be allowed into a girl's locker room, but still be attracted to girls... and no one can kick you out while you stare.
  15. If you act like the French, it doesn't seem rude. For example, lines are a suggestion. If you get in a line, you better be prepared to fight for your turn because it's just a game of dash to the open spot. Tourist spots aren't so bad-because it's employee regulated, but some busy areas are just a mob rush to the counter. I learned how to box people out fairly quickly.
  16. 4 bedroom house 60$/month during the winter. $300/month during the summer with pool. $150/month in the summer and fall. I like my house at 68F. Recently got the Garage doors insulated so let's see how that changes the cost.
  17. One week and still sick. However, I'm going to try to go back to work today. I haven't missed more than a single day in years. I feel lazy.
  18. The culture really has to do with the attitude that all assistance has to come from the government. It gives the average citizen the freedom to ignore people who need help. So to them, If you leave a tip, they think you're implying they're not making enough money Europeans would be appalled at the amount of charity the average American donates. They're also surprised at the amount of people asking them if they're okay when they trip, or return a dropped item back. Now reverse the perspective and see what they think when you act "normal"...
  19. The way the study was conducted, you can also say that extroverted people are dumb@#$#$.
  20. I remember reading about the national outrage over this incident. (and felt like it should've involved a debate over guns), but the real story has come out, (sigh, another false rape scandal)... and it sounds like a plot for porn. NSFW http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/brooklyn/charges-dropped-5-accused-brooklyn-gang-rape-article-1.2543019?utm_content=buffer865d1&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=NYDailyNewsTw The video explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moS_-K7AeSw
  21. I've been on the internet all day and this is the only place I've seen this story.
  22. Remember not to tip. Makes you look stupid. Like a naive American.
  23. Have no clue about Cyborg, and the last 4 Terminator movies bombed (not to mention Robocop). Interested in how they incorporate water into Aquaman. Please. Please. Please. let it not be about Global Warming. I'm hyped for Wonder Woman after seeing Gadot's version in B v S. Flash could be the wildcard. Is it going to be like Twilight? or Guardians of the Galaxy? He's targeted more as a YA character in previous live-action versions. If he turns into an EMO Goth, I'm done.
  24. That's the founding goal of Planned Parenthood. -at least concerning minorities.
