I like Leggette quite a bit.  I think he is fast, but we’ll see what his 40 time is.  It won’t bother me if he is at 4.5, but some will think that is slow.

Comparison to Rousseau is a good one except Rousseau (and Edmunds) were very young when they came out whereas Legette is older than typical.  Legette is yong at the position, but not in age.

I don't care either about Leggette's 40 time. If you watch him play he is quite clearly among the fastest, if not THE fastest WR in college football. It takes him a second to shift into overdrive maybe, but nobody will be catching him from behind...

  2. The results will not reflect the reality of Bills fans, just the reality of TBD.

The "fire everyone" or "everyone either sucks or is great" crowd is far and away most vocal and present on message boards, twitter and other social media venues.

I know probably 50 Bills fans outside of TBD, and who don't bother to post about football on social media platforms, and I'd say about 5 of them think the coach should be fired.

The Bills are already 4th best odds to win SB next year.  I think when you are close and you havn't made it yet, there is a tendency to overanalyze everything.

You have Josh Allen and a talented roster.

I'd compare the current Bills team VS the Chiefs similar to the 70's Steelers and Raiders.  The Raiders were close...and the imaculate reception got them ...kind of similar to 13 seconds.  Finally the Raiders broke through in the middle of Pittsburgs run whe the Steelers made it to the AFCCG with both their 1 and 2 RB's injured and unable to play. The Raiders won and went on to win the super bowl.  The Steelers would go on to win 2 more in that decade and then Raiders would win a couple in the early 80's.

I don't think every little thing about what the Raiders were doing needed to come into question and be nit picked to death.  They were on the right track to building a team capable of winning a title, but so were the Steelers.  Winning titles is hard and often you have to play against and overcome another really good team......even as your roster is good, your team is good, your coaching is good.

I think the Bills are right there, they just simply haven't gotten over the hump...no amount of analysis etc is going to solve a problem you really don't have.  When the time comes around again, the Bills will have to beat some good teams to win a title, even as the Bills ARE a good team that other teams have to overcome to win.

Why does it take a fan of another team for this perspective around here in doomsville? Well said. A very good analogy.

I haven't done a deep dive on Dorlus because he just never popped in the games I watched.   I get Boogie Basham vibes from him.   Got some pass rush but doesn't finish well.  Tweener DE/DT size, over-aged, underproductive.

Thanks. I have a hard time translating with college D-Linemen. I was seeing him as a nice 3T who can hold the line at times too, but not really as a DE in the NFL, even though he lines up there at times.

BUT.........that analysis goes about the same for all of the truly "elite" positions outside of QB.

Pass rusher, LT and WR are traditionally among the lowest(if not the 3 lowest) "Pro Bowl" hit rate positions with first round picks.

Generally 70% of pro bowlers at those positions come from picks after round 1...........last I saw over 40% of first round safeties turn into pro bowlers which was the highest.

Does that mean that a team should just pick safeties/guards and centers early because those are the highest "pro bowl" level player hit rates?

    Absolutely not.

Because those positions aren't nearly as important wrt winning championships.

Every offseason fans forget that the purpose of the early rounds is to find the future cornerstones of your franchise at premium positions..........those positions where you don't often see high quality players in their prime change teams in free agency.    Instead they focus on filling holes with their mock drafts.

You gotta' draft and develop those elite position players......and while the "big hit" rate isn't as high as some lesser positions........it still beats the odds of finding those MUST HAVE players later.

Personally,  I'm not looking too hard at safeties and 1 techs in the first 2 rounds.   Those are "free agency" value positions and one's that I hope to draft and develop replacements for later.

    Good points ^^

Not to go too off track in a WR thread, but @BADOLBILZ , What do you think of Brandon Dorlus? And do you think he's worthy of a late 3rd?

She’s incredibly smart and one of the few on that panel that actually takes it seriously.

She literally laughed and then screamed in disgust and went on a tirade about it when Josh was drafted. Have you not seen this?

I’d do laps around the house if we came away with Brian Thomas Jr & Legette. Man that would be exciting

Seriously! I had to give up a 2nd next year as part of moving around , LOL

I expect him to do well at the combine, not sure if it will help his stock too much unless he does something crazy like run in the 4.2s. With some of the concerns out there on his game I thought the Senior Bowl would have been his best chance to make an impact. Instead he struggled the first day and couldn't finish. Bummer.

The good news on this from the Bills side of things is that he is very likely to be available at #28 if he's the player we're targeting.

Don't forget to mention he didn't struggle on the second day.
