Given the 3 year rule. Analyzing the Bills 2020 draft..
JerseyBills replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
That was hard to watch. They bullied their ol on many drives, caused turnovers because of the pressure. It saddens me how much better they looked than our DL. On top of that KC had 3 or 4 rookies in the secondary. All about pressure. I just don't see how we fix our DL with all the investments. Von coming back to form would be massive , his twitchy bendable style was a pleasure to watch and certainly makes everyone around him better. He might be our only hope. Jones was also a nice addition and was missed. Still inexcusable how bad they were against 3 backups. If we can add a DE that has Jones impact for a reasonable contract that'd be huge. Good point. I'm not sold on Hodgins until he repeats it and it's not like Dabol picked him up immediately. It took injuries and a very thin wr corps to get him there but nonetheless I'd be excited for him. If I remember correctly he did have a good pre season and many including myself wanted him over Kumerow but 31 other teams decided not too pick him up so I'm still not convinced -

Lol. Ya you can certainly go lower. I mean he at least contributes somewhat and isn't inactive but very disappointing value pick. -
Ya I'm not a college guy at all. I watch cfb but I rely on you guys for prospects , as I'm nowhere near qualified to have an opinion. I don't even know who he is but if we can get quality on the ol or WR, like to see them be very aggressive It sucks because being idk cfb players like that ill rarely be posting until the draft

Rd 1. Stefon Diggs - A+ no explanation needed. Elite #1 WR who now has 2 all pros as a Bill Rd 2. AJ Epenesa- C- . maybe less. For the 54th pick in the draft he has proven to be a JAG and has limited impact on a consistent basis RD 3. Zack Moss - F. not on the team anymore and was unimpressive since day 1 Rd 4. Gabe Davis - B- . For a day 3 pick he has contributed nicely. He def isn't the answer as an every down WR but is still a legit threat and nice piece to have. Good value Rd 5. Jake Fromm - F. Complete waste of a pick. Total bust Rd 6. Tyler Bass - A . One of the best kickers in the game. Great pick Rd 6. Isaiah Hodgins - D- . At least for us he was as he was never given the chance to touch the field. Kinda like the Wyatt Teller pick. Kid has been balling for another team. Rd 7. Dane Jackson- A . For a 7th rder he has been exceptional in the #2 CB role and even #1 role for part of this year. Great value. Great pick. Overall a solid draft. Probably a B overall , 6 of 8 picks were offensive in this draft counting Bass. We got 4 starters out of it, including Gabe, which likely changes. But nonetheless very solid. But the AJ and Moss picks were huge misses on day 2 and stick out the most. If we hit on 1 or both of them this would've been a great draft class How would yall rank this draft?

Trade up if he is that coveted. The 1 OL we actually hit on was an all Pro. Wish we had Teller still.
-
Same. I would be screaming feed 14 every game recently. There was a stat where Davis had a 50 something % catch rate between 1-9 yards. Diggs was high 80%, as was Jefferson. Shakir looks like he can be a problem in the slot going forward. He's a nice piece We need a reliable #2 and let Gabe go back to where he was. A role player. We're closer than that last performance but still need obvious help. I'd draft and sign a WR by rd 2 if there's 1 available
-
I heard this live. The last stat about Buf not having a top 40 DL in pass rush win rate in the last 5 weeks is absurd . Groot he said was closest at 43. That's our biggest problem. Every team left has game wreckers on their DL. Which is mandatory for a SB run. We tried but failed epically in the draft. We tried on the ol too. 2 big contracts at LT C. 2 2nd day picks at T. Multiple vets. Just didn't work out. At the same time. We were 14-4 and first 3 losses were by 8 points. Could have went undefeated in the regular season but we all saw the issues down the stretch. We're a couple more impact players away from a SB. Have a generational talent at the most important position. Beane has to have an effective off season and sort this out.
-
Yea they were effective all year just never consistent besides the Bears game. It was baffling at times
-
Motor complements Cook way better than Hines. Ideally I'd like to keep both. I loved the idea of having a Hines/Cook package, which we saw for 1 game and never again . I believe we saw Cook/Hines for about 15 plays that day and for whatever reason Dorsey stopped that package. I always thought that was a package that could be deadly if used correct Hines had 4 offensive reps vs Cincy. Unacceptable. They were a very effective rushing team but failed to consistently establish a run gm. Dorsey just refused and alot of times was predictable. But Motor has proven to be a lifetime 4.6 ypc which is borderline elite and without looking I'm pretty sure Cook was 5.5 ypc in limited reps I believe this is a coaching issue way more than a talent/player issue

With Oliver Value Goes Beyond the Stat Line
JerseyBills replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can see Big Ed going to another team and be a force but they obviously need other talent around him because he's usually invisible vs a double team. But he has pro bowl potential There was a drop off with no Von and even worse with no Jones. Shoot, consistency wise I'm kind of pulling more towards Jones than Oliver when you add in their cap hits and everything -
You're probably right as I'm sure I missed a few when they crowd the line on 3rd down typically. I still think he should be the 1st priority in terms of our own FAs. Beane loves to draft and develop and re sign. He and Milano were a great combo and looked alot better with the healthy DL. No Jones/Miller really showed our DL deficiencies
-
Everytime he blitzes, which is rare, I feel Edmunds gets home or impacts the QB in a positive way for the D. Would love to see him be used in a more versatile role
-
I fully agree with this. I'll say it again- develop our defense- we have multiple DL on a rookie deal. 2 DBs. I don't see a scenario where we become a truly elite defense but we're capable of being a good defense But make the offense as elite as possible. We have a generational talent at the most important position in the game and a top 3-5 WR in the gm. I say Beane needs to Flood this offense with all the top tier talent he can get. I never liked signing OBJ but I would gladly welcome him next year. Even Gronk for a year. Knox, Davis as a role player and Shakir as well give us some really good weapons and draft the nastiest OL you can get in the draft. Only good thing about this type of L is it'll lower expectations going forward. I hated the SB favorite hype since the off season With 17 and 14 in their primes, we're going to have a shot every year Go Bills 👍

Which one was worse ? 13 seconds or Cinci fail ?
JerseyBills replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cincy game was worse for me because I'm going to be pessimistic all offseason 13 seconds stung harder. For weeks. But I really believed the hype about this team especially after the Von signing. This L was worse because I bought into the hype and we got dominated. I had tons of hope and sadness after 13 seconds. Now I'm just hopeless about the future -

JerseyBills replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great point. 1a on the offseason list is finding a legit 1b WR to take the double off Diggs Brown would have certainly had that impact Would have been the best 1-2 punch in the game With Davis and McKenzie being role players I do love Shakir as our future slot but we still need that true 2nd WR -
Definitely grateful for Poyer and his heart. At the same time, this coaching staff and franchise made him a household name. Him and Hyde were two of the first signings of the McBeane era. I'm sure there's nothing but respect on both sides
-
I believe Hydes loss was huge. Our D is so reliant on disguising what the safeties are doing and Hyde/Poyer were so in sync and mastered the craft. Von obviously hurt as well We were down to a 4th string safety If Tre, Hyde and Miller get back to form I think we'll be fine. Re sign Edmunds. Need to develop our D and invest in our O. Build around Allen and Diggs and put up 30+ Great point! 💯💯

Bill Parcells says Josh Allen needs help
JerseyBills replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
There has been tons of articles and YouTube videos about this. We knew it months ago after the bye and I'm sure Beane did too which explains bringing back Bease and Brown for a spark. This is the most important offseason in Beanes career since year 1 , 2017.. Can't continue to waste a generational talent like Josh and a future hof like Diggs . We have to go all in on O and be capable of 30+ a game We'll still be an average- good D but I say we go all in on O. Von, Hyde , White 🤞, Milano , Edmunds🤞. We are very capable on D. Build around your top 2 guys on offense. Please -
Should we trade Ed Oliver?
JerseyBills replied to Floridagatorsbuffalobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's a concern for me in the division going forward. He was dominant in both games where we had an overall superior team and almost single handedly wrecked our offense. The Jets scare me more than any team in the division. They got a phenomenal D and some really good pieces on O with some cap space and a capable GM. If they have another phenomenal draft , the sky is the limit even with questions at QB -
Should we trade Ed Oliver?
JerseyBills replied to Floridagatorsbuffalobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oliver is too inconsistent and just not an X factor for a top 10 pick. He's a nice role player I remember Q Williams and him were being compared as top picks and they compared Oliver to Aaron Donald 🤣 Q became a great , game changing DT and Oliver isn't even close. He's a bust imo. Nice chess piece if you have that luxury but I don't think Buf has that luxury anymore Q Williams is. Dude is a game changer -
That's what I'm saying. You have to give Tre the benefit of the doubt. If this level of play continues, I'll be the 1st to say he lost it but we gotta give this man his space. That's an emotional injury as much as it was physical. Let him get right. If we had all Pro Tre vs KC we probably have a Lombardi
-
That pass interference on Higgins was embarrassing. Not only did he nearly injure himself and Poyer but he looked so average. He was a phenomenal, all pro CB prior to the injury. So I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt but if this continues next season, Buf def has an awful contract and a real problem. His energy and swag were nowhere to be seen this year. Bill's had to give him that contract, they had no choice. But he looked awful in the few games he played. I just pray we get the vibrant, fun loving , lockdown Tre White back next year

Bro I don't agree or disagree with you . Its definitely a possibility Personally I think we need more Dogs on this roster
