They must have all had the same posters on their walls when they were kids: "The more I study, the more I know, the more I know, the more I forget, the more I forget, the less I know, ...so why study?"

This may be the worst thing I've ever heard

Food and supplies are necessary when you're in a state of emergency. They should be shot no matter what they have. -
It's been a long 5 years. Welcome back, Nicholas.

Just about 100%. Thanks for asking.

Same here. I have 2 tickets for the game that I'll give to someone who wants to go.

Can't say I disagree. I could be wrong, but I feel he'll be more like Carson Palmer than Roethlisberger. He'll get there, but it'll take a bit more time.

Oh, but the name calling is not only fun, but it's way cool, too.

To take these one @ a time: 1. (Can anyone beat USC?) Yes. They are the odds on favorite, but they're not invincible. If they come out and smoke Oregon, then people will have to watch out. 2. (Can Texas beat Oklahoma?) This is like the 'Can anyone stop the Patriots from winning it all?' argument. Until I see it, I won't believe it. To borrow a line from the College Game Day program, Texas goes into this game hoping this is "the year" while Oklahoma goes into this game knowing they can beat Texas. That's the difference. Not saying it can't be done since Texas has a lot of talent, but they have to show and prove. 3. (Is Tennessee strong enough to survive their brutal schedule?) The Vols should do fine this year. Fullmer is a first class coach who has kept Tennessee as one of the SEC's top programs. I don't see any reason to believe there will be a dropoff this year. 4. (How big an impact will the newly formed ACC have on the BCS?) The BCS has bigger problems than just the ACC. They have to hope and pray they don't get a repeat of last year, as there are a number of teams w/ the ability to run the table and win out this year. Then again, it could push them further into that 'you need a playoff' corner............ Sorry. I drifted off there, but I was having a nice dream of a true NCAA 1A champion. 5. (Will Louisville get any respect if they go undefeated?) Lee Corso seems to feel that they could be this year's Utah if they win out, which is possible in this year's Big (L)East. I will say this: the Pittsburgh game in November should be a good one. Lucky for the Cards, they're @ home for that one.

Here it is. Feel free to go check it out. I hear they're always open.

Case closed.

The game of life, huh?

Well @ least you got flimsy plastic, Harvey. Mine had the address label attached to it by a rubber band, w/ the commemorative pins inserted in the book, which got a bit dog eared by the shipping. Still, last year, I got the guide (flimsy plastic, aka shrink wrapped), but no pins. They're making progress.

Ohio State should be in the mix this year, as far as the national title is concerned. I do think Texas has a good chance as well, but I think they could lose the game to Ohio State and, until I see otherwise, I can't see them winning the RRS. They have to 'show and prove' in that game, something they haven't done in a long time.

I'm not one of the cool kids, so I just call it the Big 11. I don't see the logic in calling an 11 team league the Big 10. If that's the case, who's the 'little team'?

Iowa is rated high because they have a lot of returning talent, particularly on derfense. They have the best 1-2 LB combo perhaps in the nation and their secondary is also very talented and experienced (shout out to CB Jovon Johnson, who is from my home town of Erie Pa, as was Bob Sanders before him). Ferentz is probably the best coach in college football, so Iowa will be a firece competitor this year for sure.

Yes, the draft is this Sunday @ 7pm. The last person has just paid up and will set up his team so that I can now get our draft situated.

Wow! Thanks for all the support. It helped, trust me. The surgery went just fine. It took no more than an hour, and then they had to observe me for a while to see if I was okay. I left the hospital around 11:45am or so on Wednesday. I haven't heard from the pathologist about the results of the biopsy yet. I'm sure they'll either call me w/ the details or call my doctor and he'll notify me. I was pretty out of if for most of the last couple days. Psycho Ward 86 was taking good care of me and making sure I took my medication. Unfortunately, she had to go to work today, so I'm all by my lonesome today...except for Damien and Jake (cat and dog). Damien keeps trying to jump (yes, I said jump) onto his Daddy's lap, so I have to keep the bedroom door closed while I sleep.

...what he said. I am just as vocal as anyone when it comes to criticizing Madden as an announcer, but to say he doesn't have the credentials as a coach to belong in the Hall of Fame is false.

Yeah. SD actually wasn't a bad wrestler. The guy he should've mentioned was Rudy Diamond, who looked like he weighed about 190lbs in the ring. He used to get slaughtered by whoever wrestled him.

They are doing a muscle biopsy on me tomorrow morning around 6am. I was told that I'd be done by noon, and that I'm not supposed to go to work for a week afterward. I'm taking the rest of this week off after today, so w/ the weekend, it gives me a good 5 days of rest. I hope it goes smoothly and that they don't accidentally cut off an arm or a leg.

My wife and I went to Universal/Islands of Adventure while on our honeymoon. I loved it. Islands of Adventure has some really nice rides and attractions. I loved the Spider-Man 3D ride, the Dr. Doom's Fear Fall, the Hulk coaster, and the Dueling Dragons. I also liked the different areas of the park, like the one area that had old cartoon characters like Betty Boop and Popeye plus the Dr. Seuss area, complete w/ psychadelic colors from the ground up. Universal is cool and, like someone else mentioned, does have more of an adult feel to it. You can go to Emeril's and catch him doing his show (if you're lucky and he's there) or you can walk around and see all the characters out on the street. They had a Sherman Klump (from the Nutty Professor remake w/ Eddie Murphy) out there that wasn't that far off of the Eddie Murphy character. Overall, I really like Universal/Islands of Adventure and would gladly recommend it to anyone.
