  1. So, what did you think of that banning, bf1?
  2. He's not quite the bastard that he would have everyone believe he is.
  3. If only people would take this advice...
  4. I think the shame of it all is that if they'd just STFU, they'd be just the kind of player the NFL wants to promote. They stay out of trouble, and give their best on the field. They're just jerks on top of that. What a shame.
  5. I'd like to see the coaches @ least have the option to wear a suit if they wish. That probably will never happen though. It is a shame that they'd rather see Belichick look like Bluto than for Nolan to look like the late Hall of Fame coaches Hank Stram and Tom Landry.
  6. Yeah, but what do you know about line play, Bill? The Pats probably realize that the ability to run the ball and to stop your opponent from doing the same is key to being a championship caliber team. So, where does that all start? Up front. Having good lines is very important. W/out them, you're going to eventually run into trouble, no matter how good your skill players are.
  7. Thanks. Lisa, stop stealing other people's ID to insult me. A new staple of the EZC, perhaps? Hmm... Don't you mean Baltimore johnson?
  8. What works against them is the Falcons are pretty good @ running the ball, which the Bills may have trouble defending if last week is any indicator. What works for the Bills is that Atlanta doesn't have a very reliable passing game, which is a strong suit of the Bills' defense. This could mean the Bills may stack the line to stop the run, and still have more than enough to defend the pass well. If that happens, I could see them beating the Falcons.
  9. This is the first I'm hearing of it. PM me the details.
  10. Still no one you need be concerned w/.
  11. Did you tell him that you know more?
  12. To (seriously) answer your question, BenchBledsoe, Lori is one of the most respected members of this board, if not THE most respected. She's as knowledgeable a football fan as you'll find here, and doesn't usually partake in the sophomoric hijinks that go on here. So, to see her name being added to the fracas made those who know and respect her jump to her defense.
  13. Probably more of the same thing they did last year, when they were among the top rushing teams in football.
  14. As it so happens, Gilligan just recently 'got off the island'. I didn't even know Jay Riemersma was shot. Do we need a silent thread for him?
  15. My wife has a ton of shows on the tivo, only a few of which I like. The ones she tivo's that I also like are: CSI shows (all of them) House Law & Order: Criminal Intent Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Prison Break (only saw 2 episodes, but looks good) The Closer Without A Trace Here's shows that I tivo: my A&E shows (City Confidential, American Justice, and Cold Case Files) ESPN College Game Day any Bills shows, of course Late Show w/ David Letterman
  16. Unfortunately, I didn't see that one. I was pretty busy w/ other things last weekend, but I won't be this coming weekend, so I'll make sure I get in plenty of games. I need to start gathering some tape on prospective players, plus there's a few teams I want to see in action.
  17. Therein lies the difference in Maryland and Ohio State. OSU has a much bigger college football presence than Maryland, so they get the blue chip talents. Guys like Ted Ginn, who was considered the best athlete to come out of Ohio since Jesse Owens, aren't so tough for them to land. Maryland doesn't have that kind of clout. They get good players, to be sure, but they seem to develop their players a bit better than OSU.
  18. It was 'safe' to say that last year @ draft time too, dave. The Terps have had a recent run of quality defenders going into the NFL: Shawne Merriman this year, Starks and Madieu Williams last year, EJ Henderson the year prior, and Kris Jenkins a few years earlier. They have been better @ recruiting, especially since Freidgen became their coach, but in most cases, players leave MD better than when they arrived. Recently, they haven't missed the mark much talent-wise.
  19. Alright, that's enough of that. To put it in coachspeak, "planning to fail is failing to plan." Picking games to lose?
  20. Starks and Haynesworth are a great pair for the Titans inside. I was high on Starks' ability last year around draft time. I thought he'd be one of those linemen who would do well in either a 3-4 or a 4-3 front. He did not disappoint last year as a rookie, either. Like another rookie of theirs, Ben Troupe, once he got in there to play, he showed that he was pretty darn good.
