  1. Lost in the pages of "Does JP suck or doesn't he?" crap are the real issues for this team.
  2. There's a guy who just did a pretty good job of filling in @ a different position for his team (one manned by a respected veteran, no less) that the Bills passed on. It would be nice to see that guy on our roster.
  3. We're not that kind of message board, sir.
  4. I'd rather see us sign Kent Hull.
  5. Ah, but how does his potential measure up to former bill Erik Flowers?
  6. You'd be hard pressed to find sarcasm from me. You know that.
  7. Sure it does. The numbers don't lie.
  8. I wouldn't. I think Losman should be traded to New Orleans for Donte Stallworth. And a first round pick in '07. That's not too much to ask for.
  9. Jason Peters.
  10. No, not Thailog80.
  11. So you think that JP should continue to start?
  12. I dunno. I see the problem up front being more than just an adjustment here or there. These guys simply aren't getting it done. You and I both have watched the line play closely this year (well, I watch the line play every year, but I digress); do you really think the personnel we have is adequate? I don't. I still see the interior of the line being a weak point, w/ 2 positions we didn't feel we'd be weak in this year (center and right guard) both being liabilities often this year. The one person I do agree w/ the Bills on (Donahoe spoke on this when addressing the Bills fans @ our hotel in San Antonio prior to the Saints game) is Gandy. While I don't feel he's the next Jonathan Ogden, he is doing fairly well @ LT, better than I thought he'd do, for sure. The rest of the guys just haven't looked good. Defensively, again we're seeing less out of the established guys (Sam Adams) and little from the guys expected to come in to contribute (Edwards, Anderson). Schobel is still trying to beat the DEs to the outside, leaving huge holes to his inside that the LBs, w/ Spikes out, aren't as quick to fill. I tend to think that the line's talent is okay, but they haven't gotten the job done so far. Put it this way, I think the DL could benefit more from adjustments than the OL can. The OL simply needs better personnel in my opinion. Schemes can only take them so far.
  13. Sacrifice what? I think that the Bills should stick w/ the decision to go w/ Losman. The guy has not looked very good so far, but what do they think benching him is going to do to make him a better QB?
  14. Ryans is very tough. I thought he was their top LB even last year, when they had Wortham in the LB corps also. Roach is pretty solid as well. Prothro's injury is a major setback. Too bad; he was tearing up Florida. The guy I like is Kenneth Darby. He has really looked good running the ball, breaking tackles and showing the burst to make big plays out of small ones. Shula is okay, but the guy who has really turned things around for 'Bama is Joe Kines, the defensive coordinator. It's been through the resurgent D that the Tide has made their comeback.
  15. I love the 5-0 start, but I don't have a ton of faith in Robinson as a playmaking QB just yet. This will be a very tough test for him. If he does well, I'll start to believe a lot more. BTW, if OSU's corners decide to press cover Williams, it would be a mistake. I'm not so sure Tressel wants to do that.
  16. Ah, another bright and cheery post on our beloved Bills. I do agree w/ JSP's take on the short sightedness of the Bills in terms of acquiring personnel, and I also believe that the Bills need to stick w/ Losman. Why? The guy hasn't had enough snaps to just decide his future w/ the team and I also don't know where everyone is getting this "Holcomb is the messiah" vibe from. Here's my broken record part: the Bills have, again, failed to address the lines adequately in the offseason, and we're seeing the collateral damage from those decisions. You have to have @ least a serviceable line to do well, and we do not. Yes, McGahee has had his yards, but does anyone actually think the Bills can go into a game deciding to run the ball almost exclusively and be successful? Would this be a 3-1 team or a 4-0 team if all things stayed the same, except for us giving Willis the ball 37 times a game, ala Cadillac Williams? Does anyone think that any of these defensive coordinators we've faced would do something radical, like stacking the line of scrimmage more or run blitzing more to counter? Even teams like Tampa and Atlanta have guys who pose a threat in the passing game. Oh yeah, and they have much more cohesion up front offensively and defensively (surprising for Atlanta, because they suffered losses up front from injury and free agency, yet they're still the best rushing team in the league). I just don't know how the Bills will succeed w/out vast improvement up front on both sides of the ball, and I'm not sure we can count on the personnel we have up there @ the present. I remain hopeful, but I haven't seen much to make me think things will change.
  17. The draft is coming up in about 6 months. Pretty soon, we'll have a brand new wideout to ooh and ahh over.
  18. Considering that you have to win the battles up front, and I don't know if I'd say we're "talented" as a whole on either line, I don't know if I can say this is a playoff contender. We must start to win those battles in the trenches, offensively and defensively, to even entertain those thoughts.
  19. I think the correct quote is... "Marlin? Stingray? Bit through this piano wire? Don't you tell me my business again."
  20. Yeah, but we'll be @ .500 too! Woo hoo!!! Start Holcomb, Losman sucks, our OL will be great once McNally works his magic, Ron Edwards will turn it around and the DL will stuff the run, Nate Clements won't get his a** kicked by an underachieving WR every week, yadda yadda yadda...
  21. The Bills have a weak OL and an inexperienced QB???
  22. Yes, I agree w/ you: the Wall is much better w/ a separate forum for off topic posts.
  23. You'll get your chance, smart guy.
  24. Hey, it's a start. The team is finally getting talent for the offensive side and has a solid defense. This certainly isn't their year, but next year I expect them to be much more competitive and the year after, they should (that's no guarantee, as anything can happen) contend for a championship.
  25. What else would you call a Beaver big enough to fit 106,000 people?
