  1. After 2 weeks, here's the teams that have looked pretty good defensively that Losman and company will face: Atlanta Miami (twice) New England (twice) Kansas City Carolina Denver Cincinnati Thank goodness Losman has the advantage of being @ home for 6 of those games. Now, are any of those teams legendary defenses? Probably not, but based on what I've seen from the Bills, all can pose big problems for our offense.
  2. I watched the Virginia @ Syracuse game (wanted to get some tape on Caviliers LT D'Brickashaw Ferguson). That was something. Syracuse showed a lot of heart in coming back to nearly pull off the upset. Virginia made a nice clutch drive @ the end, including a very gutsy fourth and short call by head coach Al Groh that they successfully converted. I thought both teams played their hearts out. I would've loved to see that one head into overtime. Speaking of overtime, the Michigan State @ Notre Dame game was also impressive, for many of the same reasons. Notre Dame was down early and counted out (I saw some of the posts over on the Wall about it). Brady Quinn had a monster game for the Irish! This kid seems tailor made for Charlie Weis. They're not going to win a national championship this year (calm down, Irish fans), but they are NOT the same old Irish from the Bob Davie or Ty Willingham era. Their defense looks solid, so they'll come back strong.
  3. Whoa, Lori. Kiwanuka is very tough, heck he would've been a top 10 pick LAST YEAR had he come out early, but there's a bunch of guys I could see being taken first. For the Bills (God forbid we have the #1 pick), I'd love to see us end up w/ D'Brickashaw Ferguson or Marcus McNeil, two outstanding offensive tackles. We could probably even trade down a few spots and get either player. For just about everyone else, they'd be hard pressed to pass on Leinart (looks to be a special QB) or Reggie Bush, the true MVP of the Trojans.
  4. You make some good points. I would, however, stress that maybe everyone should relax the "greatest defense ever" talk @ this point. I do think we have one very tough D, but let's let the season play out before anointing these guys the next '85 Bears or '00 Ravens.
  5. Actually, w/ the current status of the salary-cap era NFL, you can never be sure. Some team whose defense looked poor last season (Indianapolis, for instance) just may make the correct moves to get over the hump and become a much better unit.
  6. You shouldn't hate, jester.
  7. The DL in question was Corey Williams. He was moving pretty big for a big guy. Even more impressive was Braylon Edwards' TD catch earlier in the game.
  8. I think he was commenting on the quality of our wins.
  9. You shouldn't hate. See you next week.
  10. ....and now it's done, after an unsuccessful onside kick by the Packers.
  11. The live performance is so much better than watching the All Breast Channel.
  12. Neither was Hall of Famer Walter Payton.
  13. Can we watch MNF w/ the mute button on?
  14. They're very tough to beat w/ a lead, especially late in the game. Just ask Peyton Manning.
  15. Winning the turnover battle is always a key factor in winning the game. There aren't many games where you play a turnover free game and come up w/ a loss.
  16. Yeah, there's that....but there's also the beating the Bills put on Tennessee to open the 2000 season also. You shouldn't hate.
  17. Check out this link. You'll find them under the "Bills on the Net" option.
  18. Hey guys, I hear this place has reasonable rates.
  19. Not as far as you think. Psycho Ward 86 and I are going to the Bills @ Saints game.
  20. I agree that it looks better for ND, but you also have to realize that both Michigan and Pittsburgh are good teams (a tad overrated, but good teams nonetheless), but not on the level of USC. I do think the Trojans can be beaten, but it will take a lot for the Irish to do so.
  21. You tell 'em!
  22. Well said. I will touch on your mention of Alex Smith: I thought Smith was one of the best offensive players in this year's draft, and getting both Cadillac and Smith was a nice move to bolster an offense that really needed the youth and talent in those areas. Smith, much like Roscoe Parrish, relies more on speed and quickness off the snap to get a clean release off the line (as he's not a physically imposing TE), and it works well for him. He runs good routes, has very good hands, and has a good feel for the game. Becht is a better blocker than Smith @ this point (Smith was never thought of as a solid blocker), but Smith is by far the better receiving TE of the two. He could pose a problem for our D.
  23. Happy birthday, Art. It was nice to meet you @ Danny's. Hopefully next time I see you, we'll get more of a chance to chat.
  24. There are more Browns and Steelers fans in Erie than Bills fans, unfortunately.
