Mario Williams measures up well to Julius Peppers: he's 6-7, 285 and is very quick. They say he also has around 6% body fat, so he's a big athlete, much like Peppers was coming out of North Carolina. Not to mention, the guy gets it done on the field as well, as he's a feared pass rusher who is also no slouch against the run.

Yes, but I do expect the Rams to attempt to re-sign him. Then again, that might also depend on who the settle on as their new head coach. I know Vitt really likes Pickett, so if he's in the mix somehow (new head coach, assistant on new coach's staff), I think Pickett stays.

Most of what I've seen on the Rams' DL focuses on the problems they've had getting someone to pair w/ Pickett inside. Jimmy Kennedy had a really nice start to the season, but by midseason, had lost his job to Damione Lewis, who wasn't a whole heck of a lot better. They could also use an upgrade outside, as Leonard Little is still solid, but Anthony Hargrove is serviceable. To his credit though, he did finish the season up pretty nice, so they have some hope for him.

Of the ones I'm aware of, here's some possibilities: Kendrick Clancy Ma'ake Kemoeatu Grady Jackson Ed Jasper These guys probably will be re-signed, but if they're not, I'd consider them: Ryan Pickett Larry Triplett Chris Hovan

Most of you all have hit the nail right on the head. I also like the point made that if we do address DT in free agency, then we should, if the draft played out as this mock, take Williams. Now, if nothing is done in free agency leading up to the draft to address the DT issue, then that changes things. Hopefully, that isn't the case. I am sick of seeing our pass rush be ineffective on third downs. Williams and Schobel as bookend pass rushers would help our coverage immensely, would put more heat on the QBs, which would, in turn, force more turnovers. Again, I'm not saying neglect the interior of the DL. I am in favor of addressing that in free agency, as the chances are more likely that we can find help inside in free agency than we can outside. My personal wish list for our first round pick: 1. D'Brickashaw Ferguson (not very likely; too bad) 2. Mario Williams (maybe; sure would love it) 3. Haloti Ngata (if nothing is done in free agency to upgrade the DT position and the top 2 are gone) 4. Mathias Kiwanuka (could maybe be done in a trade down?; we'll see) 5. Jimmy Williams (if Nate is gone; could maybe even be used @ safety if we cut one of the veterans)

Trust me, as a person who lives in the Baltimore area and is subject to the drama that is the Baltimore Ravens, it's not as similar as you'd like to think. They (Bills/Ravens) each are going through their own unique experience. You're half a foot taller than my wife, and I can spot her.

No. I try to judge each scenario individually as opposed to collectively. Ozzie has done an excellent job of keeping the Ravens stocked w/ talent. That might be Phil Savage's ability to find quality players anywhere and everywhere (guys like Ed Hartwell, Kelly Gregg, Edwin Muiatalo, Chester Taylor, etc.); that remains to be seen. Still, I think that in terms of not only handling the salary cap, but in terms of making solid personnel decisions (not perfect, as the Boller trade indicates, but hits more than he misses) and of finding good players that are right for his team, he's a very good GM. A lot of what I've seen in the past couple of years in Baltimore has been due not only to poor coaching (Billick's stubborn refusal to think outside the box in terms of his starting QB-he did it w/ Redman, Wright, and Grbac before Boller), but also injuries that depleted their once dominant defense and to the somtimes self-destructive behavior of the Ravens themselves. Here, here! If we bring in some spend-happy, clueless exec to take over, heads will roll. I'm hoping that the Bills do put a great deal of effort into replacing the GM and don't just look for a quick fix who falls into line w/ Ralph Wilson and wants to do everything "on the cheap". If that were to happen, we can't expect much to change on the field. Not if I Cya first (haha!!)

Simon, you love to argue. That's cool. Much like w/ Bledsoe, I tried not to jump the gun on Donahoe. I have watched this team over the past 5 seasons basically tread water. As a loyal fan and season ticket holder, I'm not satisfied. That's just me. Donahoe had a nice run as the person in charge in Pittsburgh. Congrats on that. Unfortunately, his time here in Buffalo has not been as productive. We keep hearing how this is a business, right? Well, if that's the case, then he has to be held accountable for the failings of the team , being the man in charge and all. I know that if my job performance was slipping and my employment @ Social Security was on the line, Uncle Sam isn't going to give a damn about my service record in the USAF (which was quite good, BTW). That's how it goes in business, and I'm sure Donahoe understands that.

No! Williams can't learn anything. He sucks. He led us to 3 losing seasons, and he'll never be able to learn enough to become a successful head coach. That, plus his defenses aren't that good anyway, if you look @ his whole career.

I mean, after all, he's been there in that role since the team arrived from Cleveland, and they haven't made the playoffs yet, not to mention the pathetic way Ozzie has neglected the offensive line. It's one thing if his moves would've panned out and they would've done something freaky, like, say, have a record-setting defense lead them to a Super Bowl title, but...
