  1. I've seen enough. I hope the Jags can make a comeback and take this one from the Pats. I'm not going to sit through any more of ABC's Patriots love fest though.
  2. Psycho Ward 86 and I will both be rooting hard for the Jags tonight. This so called "in between game show" is just another excuse for ABC to continue to kiss the Patriots' a**. Pathetic.
  3. You're absolutely right: I should know better. Foolish me for believing the words of former NFL coaches and players, many of whom are Hall of Famers, when they seem to feel that one of the things that distinguishes the great Jim Brown from other backs who have played since he retired is the fact that he averaged over 5 yards per rush for his career. Man, were they hoodwinked by this hoax! Considering how many people have gone on to pass Brown's yardage total over the years, there can simply be no way that he's the best ever. So, the simple solution should be to give Willis about 700 rushes. That way, he'll be a lock to go over 2,000 yards, and we can ride on his coattails to a championship. You are right about yards being hard to come by. It's not just his 3.8 average that bothers me, it's the fact that he just doesn't seem to be able to make the game breaking plays he used to. His longest run of the season is 27 yards. Heck, even Jerome Bettis has a longer run! In fact, of the top 30, only Jamal Lewis (25) and Lamont Jordan (26) have done worse for a longest run. Maybe it would've been better for Willis if he had played behind a much better offensive line, like........Houston's. After all, Domanick Davis' longest run of the season is a whopping 44 yards. Another hoax? Look, I am not anti Willis McGahee. I am against looking @ ANY Bills player's performance through rose colored glasses. He had a decent season, that's all. Can he do a lot more? He certainly can. I'm trying to stay optimistic that Marv Levy will spearhead the effort to put the line in place for not only Willis to do better, but for JP as well. I just hope we're not getting lip service and another dose of the "same ol' Bills" once the season begins.
  4. Hmm. Lemme see: He's not a huge run stuffer (6-3, 295 or so), got kicked off the team last year, has had numerous fights and alcohol-related incidents in school... Nope. No character issues here.
  5. Nah. They sucked.
  6. It said: "Uuuhhh....uh......uh......." It was the second part of the press conference.
  7. Actually, they're the only RBs of the league's top 30 rushers that have a worse yards per rush average than Willis. Are we to believe that every team except the Ravens, Jets, Patriots, Lions, and Bills have good offensive lines?
  8. I think a whole lot of people here would look like the guy in your avatar if that happens.
  9. I agree w/ you. The Texans' pitiful attempts to patch together an offensive line are shameful, but even worse when you consider they made David Carr, a quarterback, their franchise player w/ their first ever pick. Now, why in the world would you go all out and get a great line in front of your franchise QB? Going into the season, their entire staff was pretty impressive. Palmer is a decent coordinator (sacrificial lamb that he was) w/ head coaching experience, Fangio is a proven defensive coordinator while Capers brings a wealth of experience as both a coordinator and a head coach. Not many teams had that kind of experience from their top 3 coaching positions. So, considering they had a seasoned staff of coaches available, what was the problem? Might it have been the guy supplying the "talent"? Hmm....
  10. McNally's not the king of all kings, lord of all lords any more in terms of OL coaching? What you said for Hawk is how I feel about Mario Williams: it would be a shame to pass on a guy who could become a Julius Peppers-type pass rusher in the league. It really would be.
  11. Exactly. If we go into the draft having already gotten help via free agency @ DT and on the OL (interior, especially), then I sure hope we end up w/ a stud pass rusher like Williams. I don't see us being able to find as good a mix of pass rush help/run stuffing help/OL help if we go after Ngata in the first and address the pass rush later. There's nobody in free agency or later in the draft that's as strong a pass rusher as Williams. Kiwanuka is close, and if we end up w/ him (if Mario is taken by our pick), then I'd be okay w/ that also. Other than those 2, there's no standout pass rusher available @ DE.
  12. That's kinda what I'm hoping for. If we can land a couple very good free agent OL and one good DT, then we can upgrade our pass rush w/ Mario Williams or Mathias Kiwanuka. I certainly do hope Marcus McNeill and Winston Justice go before the Bills have to decide on them. McNeill had a subpar year and appeared disinterested @ times while Justice is just plain overrated. Of all the big time talent on display Wednesday night in Pasadena, he was by far the most disappointing. If we're going to look @ OL help around here, I sure would love to see Jonathan Scott of Texas (not a HUGE tackle as they had before in Big Mike or Leonard Davis, and a good athlete also). I wouldn't even mind seeing us go after a guy like G Will Allen of Texas later on. He looked very good in the Rose Bowl, and could be a possibility for Buffalo in this draft.
  13. Do you know what Jamal Lewis, Curtis Martin, Corey Dillon, and Kevin Jones have in common? I'll bet someone out there does. No, Willis is not the sole reason we're 5-11. What he is, though, is a young guy who should do more on the field (production) and less off the field (bragging on himself). Let's all hope for a clean slate in 2006.
  14. Now that's just wrong.
  15. I "thought" so too.
  16. Willis McGahee: 5 rushing TDs
  17. Houston Texans' GM Kevbeau. It has a nice ring to it, certainly nicer than GM Charlie Casserley.
  18. Actually, I heard this same rumor on the radio this morning.
  19. While I admit Neuheisel is a pretty good coach, Boller followed up 2 very good games toward the end of the season: 19 of 27 for 253 yds, 3 TDs 0 INT (136.8 rating) vs Green Bay 24 of 34 for 289 yds, 3 TDs 1 INT (113.5 rating) vs Minnesota with a more Boller-like outing: 15 of 36 for 151 yds, 0 TDs 2 INTs (31.1 rating) to end the season against Cleveland.
  20. Me too, but if Ferguson was there and we had the choice of either, I'd hope we'd take Ferguson. Either one would make me very happy though. I just hope one or both of them are available when we pick.
  21. That may or may not be true. The Penn State defense would've given Texas all they could handle, that's for sure. They also would've brought more pressure from the edge, something USC couldn't do even when they tried (for a lot of the game, especially the 2nd half, they played contain, so they didn't blindly rush that often from the edge). But, would PSU have been able to score in the high 20s/low 30s on Texas? That's the tough part. I just don't know. Michael Robinson had a fantastic season, and thrived on such challenges, so I think Penn State would have a shot.
  22. Ooh! Ooh! What did he say next? Please post every word.
  23. I'm not listening to it online or watching it on ESPN News.
